Lillian shrugged, "The guy’s public nickname is named, "Dwarf"." she responded.
She then tilted her body to the side, looking past the line of students and stared at the bushy-beard man.
Just like how dwarfs were depicted to be talented blacksmiths in fantasy stories, so was this man giving out their weapons.
She remembered this particular man had the Unorthodox Element of Metal. That and the Trait of increased strength, it kind of made sense for him to lean towards the smithery career.
So why was someone like that in charge of being one of the teachers looking over this class?
Like most who had entered through the Trial more than once, he is an experienced fighter—a natural trait everyone needs.
Lillian turned to Millis and asked:
"What do you think of getting?"
"Hm? Maybe a uh... maybe a shield, probably..." she responded with an uncertain look.
Lillian smiled.
"A shield, huh? That sounds like a good option. You aren’t really the close combat type are you?"
Millis stared at her before folding her arms, pouting.
"Ya could... say that..."
Lillian chuckled before looking over towards Marionette, who quietly stood behind her.
"What do you think of getting?"
"..."
Marionette stared at her silently. She took a brief glance towards the yawning Prince before swiping her gaze across the entirety of the students here.
"The likelihood that we aren’t allowed to use anything other than our physical capabilities... are quite high. If my predictions are right, then I’ll be..."
She then paused and then folded her arms coolly.
"Who knows..."
Lillian’s face twitched in irritation. With all the buildup, Marionette had just done—she really wasn’t expecting her to not reveal her choice of weapon.
Was there any particular need to remain secretive when it was most definitely going to be revealed soon anyway?
Lillian groaned, "Fine... keep your secrets..." she then turned towards the Second Prince with a hesitant look.
They were definitely on the level where they could talk to each other casually, right?
Well, it seemed she didn’t need to ask him what he was going to get for it seemed he overheard their conversation.
"The gladius," he said in a tired voice. "A short sword with a thin blade."
Lillian nodded slowly, "I-I see... thanks for that little extra detail at the end?"
Reph shrugged, "I was studying swords, so it slipped out of my mouth. Most of the time I might be rambling on like a fool due to how little sleep I got, so sorry if it seems like I am speaking a bit much. You see, I watched this series yesterday and had the greatest idea of watching it at midnight, so I didn’t really get that much sle..."
Lillian started blocking out 90% of what was leaving the Prince’s mouth as he seemed to rattle on about the show he watched.
This topic did seem to interest Millis a bit as she listened to what he had to say and asked questions in between his long sentences.

’Wow... these two have quite the hobby...’
She wasn’t really any different. If this was past her, she might’ve been interested. But currently, she felt like it would be wise to put most of her attention in bettering her skills.

However, that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to ask Marionette what her hobbies were.
"My... hobbies?"
Marionette raised an eyebrow at her.
"I don’t particularly have any unless you count researching as one."
"Researching, huh? What on may I ask?" Lillian asked with a curious look on her face.
"... Anatomy. I feel like that’s a good place to end this conversation," she stated apathetically as she pointed behind Lillian.
Lillian raised an eyebrow and turned around, staring at the nonexistent line behind her and the patient stare of the dwarf.
After getting Lillian’s attention, he pushed out his hand and curled his index finger towards her, gesturing for her to come up.
Lillian gave an embarrassed smile as she walked up towards the short bearded man.
Corran stared up at her, scratching his beard before tapping his foot against the ground.
The ground beneath them shuddered.
Confusion spread across Lillian’s face as she felt the vibrations tickling her feet. The reason for this strange phenomenon was soon answered once she saw the short muscular man rising in height.
She looked back at the man and found him to be at eye level with her. She then stared down at the grey metal cube underneath his feet.
Looking back up, she was Corran staring at her intently with interest—interest in her identity as the highest achiever in the exam.
"Lillian Ker Arius, correct? I happened to know of your brother."
Lillian was taken aback by this sudden revelation.
"Eh? You do?"
Did her brother have this teacher before?
Corran gave a solemn nod, "Yes. I hope you aren’t a troublemaker like he was."
"... What did he do...?" Lillian asked—her voice unconsciously having a tired tone.
Corran scratched the side of his head, "Your brat of an older brother poured a bucket of water over my head."
Lillian’s lips twitched wryly, "He did? Was there a reason for this?"
"Well... it was an understandable but annoying reason." he sighed, facepalming, "April Fools..." he muttered with a shake of his head.
"I also hear it was due to a bet he had with another teacher, which to this day I do not know..." he sighed again.
"Now then... could you please tell me what you would like to have?"
Lillian nodded. She then paused, rubbing her chin before asking the Dwarf:
"Is it possible you could recommend me a weapon?"
The Dwarf raised an eyebrow. He then hopped down the cube.
"If you would like my opinion..."
He then raised his large hand towards Lillian’s hand before stopping.
"Do I have your permission?"
Lillian nodded and watched as the Dwarf held her hand and stared at her palm, running his rough index finger over it.
He then went on to check the other hand before hopping back onto the cube.
He sat on it with his arms folded and his eyes closed. He soon woke up from his deep thoughts as he summoned something into his hand.
