Chapter 416: Chapter 416: Waking Up on Time to Exercise
The person on the other end went silent after that.
Jasmine Sinclair gripped her phone tightly, biting her lip as a sinister glint flashed in her eyes.
’Claire Sinclair, you’re finished this time, hmph!’
-
After the state banquet, Adrian Quincy claimed something urgent had come up and tasked Ethan Kingsley with escorting Princess Morinka back to her hotel.
And as for his "urgent matter"? It was, of course, to go home and battle his sweet young wife for three hundred rounds.
But...
As soon as Claire Sinclair got home, she took a quick shower, flopped into bed, and fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.
When Adrian Quincy saw her sleeping so peacefully in bed, he couldn’t bear to wake her. He just planted a soft kiss on her lips before lying down beside her.
At seven in the morning, an alarm clock started ringing from somewhere in the room.
Claire was jolted awake by the alarm. Annoyed, she still dragged herself up to turn it off.
Just as she was about to get out of bed, a strong arm suddenly wrapped around her waist, pulling her back down.
Claire froze for a moment, then turned to meet his gaze. "What are you doing?"
Adrian Quincy slowly opened his eyes, his voice thick with sleep. "Claire, you still haven’t made good on the promise you made me yesterday."
"What promise?" Claire asked, still a bit dazed.
Without another word, Adrian Quincy rolled over, pinning her beneath him.
It finally dawned on Claire. She placed her hands on his chest and blinked innocently. "Don’t you have to entertain Princess Morinka today?"
"I’m not needed for the cultural exchange."
"Then... why did you set an alarm?" Claire couldn’t remember setting one herself.
A slight smile played on Adrian Quincy’s lips. "To wake up on time for our morning exercise."
"!!!"
’How terrifying!’
’This man actually set an alarm just to wake her up for "exercise." What kind of person even does that?!’
’Besides, this guy has the most energy in the morning. I’d never be able to handle it!’
"Maybe we shouldn’t...?"
"Claire, you’re the one who said we’d battle for three hundred rounds."
"I’m nervous..."
"Leave it to me."
...
In their quest to make a baby, the couple pulled out all the stops, trying every possible method to get pregnant.
Claire took a long nap afterward to recover. When she finally woke up, her back was so sore she had to support it just to get out of bed.
As she came down to the living room, she saw Adrian Quincy emerging from the kitchen with a pot of freshly made soup. He spotted her and called out, "Claire, come have some soup."
"What kind is it?" Claire asked, walking over eagerly.
"Chicken and pork rib soup."
"It smells delicious!" Claire was starving and couldn’t wait to dig in.
Adrian Quincy brought out the rest of the dishes, and the two of them finally began their meal.
When they were about finished with their meal, Claire suddenly remembered something. "Mr. Quincy, Teacher Hartwell promised that after I’m done with Princess Morinka’s visit, I’d get a seven-day vacation. I’d like to go on a little trip."
"Where are you thinking of going?" Adrian asked.
"I haven’t decided yet." ’Seven days. I have to make the most of them.’
"Try not to go too far," Adrian reminded her. He couldn’t stand the thought of her being far away from him.
Claire looked up at his face. She hadn’t had any particular ideas before, but the moment he told her not to go too far, an idea sparked in her mind.
"Um... I just thought of something. I want to go visit my best friend. She’s in Meridia."
Adrian’s brow furrowed slightly. "That’s too far."
"It’s not that far, just a twelve-hour flight. Besides, I’ve never even been abroad before. I want to see how other countries are different from ours. You can even consider it advanced prep for being the First Lady! I can’t just live in the little world you’ve built around me forever, right?"
