Chapter 414: Chapter 414: Eyeing Like a Tiger

Just as her attention wavered,

Claire Sinclair’s heart skipped a beat, and she instinctively turned to look at his face.

Adrian Quincy suddenly lowered his head and said to Ethan Kingsley, "Princess Morinka is still in the reception room, all by herself. You can go in."

A mysterious smile played on Ethan Kingsley’s lips. Without even glancing at the reception room, he said pointedly, "A woman even you won’t deign to look at—do you really think I’d be interested?"

Adrian Quincy stated expressionlessly, "The woman I’ve chosen is someone you can never have."

As soon as the words left his mouth, the smile vanished from Ethan Kingsley’s eyes, replaced by an intimidating chill.

He said nothing more. After one final glance at Claire Sinclair, he turned and walked away.

Claire Sinclair couldn’t suppress a shiver. She quickly spun around and threw herself into his arms.

Adrian Quincy gently stroked her hair and said in a low voice, "Claire, remember this: I love you."

Claire Sinclair was speechless.

’He confessed his love to me again!’

-

After the dinner banquet, there was a gala.

Adrian Quincy pulled Claire Sinclair to a prime seat in the center of the front row, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with her.

To her left sat Ethan Kingsley, and to Ethan’s left sat Morinka.

On stage, several opera performers were in the middle of a performance. To many who didn’t understand the art form, the sing-song sounds were rather dull, but Claire Sinclair was completely captivated.

’The quintessence of our culture isn’t easy to grasp, but that’s exactly why I should listen more attentively.’

She was completely oblivious to the countless envious eyes fixed on her, especially from those seated in the rows behind.

"Claire Sinclair is on another level. Not only is she sitting between two absolute gods, but she also pushed Princess Morinka off to the side. Hahaha... I’m dying."

"Well, she’s Aridia’s top journalist. Isn’t it perfectly normal for her to be sitting there?"

"Pfft, she’s just a journalist who got famous through hype. So she can write a few articles, big deal. It’s a shame that so many veteran artists who’ve dedicated their entire lives to their craft aren’t even qualified to be here."

"That’s some serious moral grandstanding. I think Claire Sinclair is amazing and totally inspirational!"

The women’s argument grew more and more heated, showing no signs of stopping.

Just then, Adrian Quincy suddenly turned his head and shot them a murderous glare.

The women all flinched, not daring to make another peep.

In the third row.

Vincent Webb and his assistant sat in seats at the far end of the row, where they had a perfect view of Claire Sinclair’s every move.

The assistant leaned in slightly, close to Vincent Webb’s ear, and whispered, "Director Webb, it seems Claire Sinclair really has a few tricks up her sleeve. She’s even pushed Morinka to the sidelines."

Vincent Webb’s expression was unreadable. "Who do you think is the man backing her?" he asked in a low voice.

"It’s hard to say. Ethan Kingsley is very forward with Claire Sinclair, while Adrian Quincy is also exceptionally courteous to her. Neither of them would act this way unless it was for a woman they were genuinely interested in."

"If it’s Ethan Kingsley, then we can’t let her be. If it’s Adrian Quincy, we can leave her alone."

A vicious glint flashed in the assistant’s eyes. "A brilliant deduction, Director Webb," he said in a low voice.

Although the two of them spoke in hushed tones, they were overheard by Jasmine Sinclair, who was sitting behind them.

Just then, Hugh Carson was away, having gone to the restroom. Jasmine Sinclair nudged Vincent Webb’s back and whispered, "Director Webb, are you planning to make a move against Claire Sinclair?"

Vincent Webb turned his head slowly. Upon seeing it was some wet-behind-the-ears young girl, his face instantly darkened. "Nosy," he growled.
