Chapter 203: A New Family Member
A deep red glow covered the entire room, causing everyone to go blind for a few minutes.
Raiden, on the other hand, felt a deep connection form within his blood as his bloodline started to boil.
Shisss!!~
The light from the room faded away as the egg turned into a small and cute crimson serpent. It blinked its cute red eyes while glancing at Raiden.
Everyone stared at the small and cute snake, not able to associate it with the figure they were expecting.
"Aunt...Ruby??" Raiden asked hesitantly. He felt a very intrinsic closeness with her, but he wasn’t very sure.
"Shisss!!~" (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
The crimson serpent jumped on him, wrapping herself around his neck, as she rubbed her tiny head against his.
"This is definitely not Aunt Ruby. Maybe it’s her...child??" Sylvia also felt an innate closeness to the crimson serpent as she spoke hesitantly.
"I honestly don’t know. It feels like she is Aunt Ruby, but at the same time she’s not." Raiden answered back.
The Terra Beasts, on the other hand, didn’t think so much.
"Woolie Woo!!" Big sister, you have become so small! It’s me!! Emperor Woolie!!
"Sha Sha Sha!!!" Big Sister, how did you become so small?? Are you playing a game with us??
"Shiss??" The Crimson serpent tilted her head to the side in confusion, not understanding what they were saying, but she felt very close to them, as they were family too.
So she jumped up from on top of their heads, playing with them happily like a newborn child.
Both Raiden and Sylvia looked on in confusion as the small child played with the big ones.
They didn’t know how to feel about it.
"Big brother, what exactly is going on??" Sylvia asked.
"I don’t know. Give me a minute to figure it out." Raiden answered as he checked the system stats.
{Ruby, The Divine Blood Emperor}
{Status: Reborn}
{Rank: Mythical (Sealed to Gold Tier)}
Description: Ruby, The Divine Blood Emperor, is Queen of all Blood Beasts. She faced an unknown calamity and died because of it. But with the help of The Ashen Bloodline, she was able to revive herself and turn back into a child once more. Her potential and powers are sealed inside her body along with her memories, which will only unlock when she faces a very serious threat or reaches mythical.
{Potential: EX Tier}
{Current Thought: Waahhhhh, new friends and family~}
Raiden fell into thought as he read the description. This was not what he was expecting.
He had thought a lot of things, but he never expected to die and get reborn again.
That also explained how she was free of the contract with his mother. The contract only lasts as long as the person lives, and because Ruby already died once, she naturally broke free from the contract.
But reading about how she was revived caused a big mental distress in his heart.
That Ashen Bloodline again.
Sylvia had it. He didn’t have it, but he guessed one of his parents must have it.
When Raiden was trying to awaken Sylvia’s potential in the beginning, he stopped at the one last step.
Something in his heart warned him that if he went through with it, it would bring a lot of problems in his life, and he was right. Something that can revive a dead Mythical-Tiered Terra Beast is way beyond its comprehension.
It was in a different league or dimension entirely.
He couldn’t run away from it, as Sylvia was going to awaken hers sooner or later. But he had no idea who used this power to revive Ruby. Was it his parents? Someone else? Someone from their extended family? Raiden had no answers, and he grew even more worried because of it.
There was a gigantic mystery surrounding the death of his parents, and now they lost the protection of Aunt Ruby, turning her into a cute little chibi snake.
There were some dark forces surrounding him and his family, and Raiden knew he had to step up and protect everything and everyone.
"Big Brother??" Sylvia shook him awake.
"Ah, sorry for that. It is Aunt Ruby, alright. She just used a lot of her powers and lost her memories. With time, she will be back to normal soon and be with us again. Don’t worry."
Sylvia visibly cheered up as she heard his words.
"Really?? You are not lying to me, are you??"
"Why would I lie to you about something so important?? Don’t worry, Aunt Ruby still lives."
"Yay!!!" Sylvia cheered and rushed forward to pick up the crimson little serpent, who blinked her eyes at the sudden vertigo before she glanced at Sylvia, who was rubbing her head against hers.
Something inside her told her this girl was very important to her, so she closed her eyes and nuzzled back happily.
"Shiss!!~"
Raiden let out a relieved smile after seeing this. Whatever or whoever was targeting their families could wait. The Ashen Bloodline could wait too. Nothing was more important than knowing that his Aunt Ruby was alive. Even if in a different form.
And he had full confidence that he could restore her in all her glory in the future.
"Alright guys, let me through. I want to hold her too!!" Raiden made his way in through the mess before picking up the crimson serpent and staring into her eyes.
"Shiss??~" The little serpent cutely tilted her head sideways in confusion.
"Welcome to the family, little guy. You are one of us now, and you are much different from Aunt Ruby. It’s not fair to keep calling you that. Let’s think of a new name for you, shall we??" Raiden spoke extremely gently as he petted her head.
The serpent’s eyes brightened as soon as she heard his words, and she nodded her head in response.
Seeing this, Raiden let out a laugh as he fell into thought.
"Let’s see... With crimson scales and red eyes and with a smile that is so healing and pure...how about...Rose??"
"Shisss!!!~" ✧(≧▽≦)✧
"Hahaha!! Then it’s decided. Welcome to the family, Rose~"
