Chapter 203: Afraid to fight

Things were very silent after then, the warriors suddenly saw why Blac followed the new masters. The whole thing didn’t even take up to three minutes!

Fen took a deep breath, his hands trembled on his sword because he thought he was about to die when those patrol warriors came around. He thought that was it because the bloodlust they gave off was so oppressive that it was hard to breath through.

But then the masters got involve and everyone suddenly because serious and tense. And then it ended, just like that. Fen shook his head, that’s the kind of power he remembers. It’s been so long. "Don’t just keep standing there! Clear them away from camp! And tie those monsters up too!"

The warriors saluted and with some glances at the master began to do as they were told.

Nyssa joined Fen and together they supervised those who are making camp. There’s no light to make complete camp before a soft blue light lit up the air above them. It came from the skill used by Stallus.

Blac gathered the patrol warriors and loot them of their valuables. The quick fight have damaged their armor but their weapons are another thing entirely. Although after the arrow and the sword in Azaroth hand, no other weapon is enchanted.

But they are good weapons.

"Sir Azaroth. I don’t see anything like food or water with them so I’ll assume that they have a camp close by. We should look for it." Blac said.

Azaroth was siting in front of the big tent made for them, he sat on a small, low stool. "Don’t bother. The forest is big and their camp might be anywhere. What you should concern yourself with is if they have more comrade that’ll come for them."

Blac shook his head and said in a disappointing tone. "The patrols are all given a wide areas to look after. It’s must be very bad coincidence that we should even meet with one."

Azaroth nodded, then said. "Then that’s it. Watch out for the monsters that’ll be attracted here with all that noise."

Blac retreated and Azaroth stayed where he was till his food was brought and the team surrounded him. Stallus touched her bow. "Still the same rules of finder’s keeping, right?"

Azaroth shrugged. What’s his business if it’s rule or not? Anything he took from his enemy is his. No one can make a rule on what to do with it. That made what Apex did really stung by collecting the golems’ heart then.

Stallus and the others chatted after they agreed that it is indeed the person that defeat the opponent with get the weapons and anything on them.

The warriors kept looking at them with nervous eyes as the night passed but they were all tired from the days trip and it didn’t take long for the snoring to began.

As the Night progress, Blac made the shadows at the edges of the camp thicker and then tell Azaroth that any intruders will be known by him.

Azaroth didn’t care because he was there. Monsters came but felt the presence of those who gave off faint but very powerful bloodlust. They felt power and not from only one person and they knew a fight won’t be worth it. No human meat today.

The next day came sneaking in and Azaroth yawned. He did some light stretches. He meditate throughout the night and took in essence from the air and into his core. It’s a little essence but it’s better than nothing.

The Captains began to take the warriors in a light training for warm up before going into the forest. And after eating a breakfast of meat and bread, they began their match towards the forest with Azaroth and the others leading the way.

The forest welcome them with the different shades of green from the trees, from light green to a very deep one that’s nearly black. And the smell! From earthly to herbs like and flash of warm rotten plants.

Small animals and insects let out different sounds, each trying to out do the others in who can make the loudest noise. And each sounds made the warriors jump and their movements stiff as if monsters are about jumping them.

But they relax a little when nothing eventful happen for the morning and most of the afternoon. It’s just that the monsters didn’t attack. They saw them, furs and fangs, scales and glowing eyes as they monsters move between the cover of the trees.

But they didn’t attack. They dare not. Blac noticed why they didn’t attack. It was because of the five Initiate level Awakeners among the warriors.

"The monsters are too afraid to fight." Alex said with a smug smile.

Stallus shook her head. "Only because they are in the Novice rank as well. Attacking us, of Initiate level power is certain death and they know that as well. But do you notice that the novice monsters are now powerful at the stage in the forest? I guess soon we’ll get the territories of Initiate."

Azaroth called to a stop when he heard that. "We will look for a clearing and form a defensive camp. It will last us a few weeks."

The warriors are surprised, they thought this will be like hunting animals where they’ll go and return just like that. They grumbled but after their Captains swallowed their own surprise, they began to shout orders at them.

The search for clearing was quick and they found one that was facing a big cave. After they explored the cave and found it free of monsters or animals they began to make camp in front of it.

Stallus clapped after the exploration and told the three men in front of her. "Okay. Now we will chop down the some of the trees and undergrowth. Time to build a defensible wall in front of this cave. We were thinking of building it around a camp before. But now! Time to work."
