Chapter 11: First S-Grade Item
"We have two A-Grade items, my lord. And... let me tell you a secret."
The shopkeeper had said these words and had moved right up close to Dean.
It was as if he were trying to whisper to him.
Dean, however, hadn’t found this rude and had allowed him to approach him.
"Speak," the young man had said politely.
"We... even have an S-Grade weapon," the shopkeeper had whispered.
When Dean heard this, he smiled and replied, "So... those grades, I assume, mean higher power levels?"
The shopkeeper nodded immediately and replied, "Of course, my lord. As you know, the rarer the materials used, the higher the grade of the items, and their power levels are far greater."
Dean smiled and replied, "Then we’ll see what you said later."
With that, Dean began to wander around the shop slowly.
He wanted everything he liked to be bought.
Unfortunately, there wasn’t much of value in the shop.
To be honest, many of the things the young man was trying to buy were either alchemical, blacksmithing-related, or kitchen utensils.
So they weren’t useless, but one could say they were at least worse than Dean had expected.
Even so, as the young man obtained information on each item via the system, the items continued to be carried away by other angels in his wake.
To them, the young man was now like a money-printing machine.
In a short space of time, Dean had swept through more than half the shop from top to bottom, marking each item one by one for purchase.
In the end, he had reached what was perhaps the least luxurious, most neglected area of the shop.
"Ah, sir. This is the section where unused, unsold, and rather poor-quality goods are left. I’m sure you won’t find anything of interest here."
The moment the shopkeeper said this, Dean immediately turned on his heel and set off to explore the rest of the shop.
At that very moment, a system window appeared before him:
[Moon’s Rope (S-Grade)
The moon... isn’t she beautiful?
They say that those who gaze upon her cannot look at anything else. Few know whether this is true or false.
But there is one true thing, and that is this item, which will bind others with the power of the Moon.
Whatever the Moon sees shall be bound under the command of its user.
This is a ’Bind’ item. Once bound to the host, it cannot be removed.]
The system hadn’t simply told him that an object was there; on the contrary, it had shown him the object itself.
Dean was, quite frankly, scared stiff.
He’d thought the system was just a system, but what was happening now was different, wasn’t it?
It was as if the system were alive and watching Dean; it didn’t want him to miss an opportunity, so it had brought up this system window right in front of him.
It felt as though not taking this item, or overlooking it, would be a mistake.
Dean... felt as though he’d been warned.
Everyone paused at the young man’s sudden halt.
It was clear they were slightly taken aback.
"Is... everything alright, my lord?" Mirael had asked, filled with great concern.
Dean, meanwhile, had turned round once more, trying to work out exactly where the object was, his curiosity piqued.
At that moment, he could see it.
Something was glowing.
It was something shimmering beneath golden light.
The young man walked slowly towards it and picked it up.
As he did so, the golden object instantly enveloped his body, and the young man was presented with another system window:
[The item has bound to the host.]
The young man then turned to the shopkeeper and asked, "How much is this?"
Taken aback by Dean’s question, the shopkeeper tried to glance discreetly at Mirael and saw that she, too, looked utterly bewildered.
Still, he knew he had to answer.
"It must be fate, my lord. You’ve taken a liking to an item we would have thrown out in a couple of days. Please, just take it."
At the shopkeeper’s reply, the curious expression on Dean’s face vanished, replaced by a smile.
"So be it," said the young man; in an instant, his hand glowed, and a banknote appeared in his palm.
The banknote bore the exact figure of ’5,000,000’.
The shopkeeper stared, open-mouthed, at the banknote in his hand.
"It is an A-Grade item," said Dean.
He had no idea how much an S-Grade item would fetch.
Had the shopkeeper not told Dean himself, Dean wouldn’t even have known that S-Grade items existed.
In that case, the only thing he could do would be to spend the 5,000,000 Nether and Aether Coins right then and there.
"That’s... too much for an A-Grade item, my lord," the shopkeeper said immediately.
Dean, however, had smiled at the man’s honesty.
Even though they were angels, a merchant was still a merchant.
It seemed Mirael hadn’t brought him to a sinister place after all.
"It’s all yours."
Dean uttered these words, handed the banknote in his hand to the man, and continued to wander around the shop.
He kept wandering around the shop until he could find nothing else that caught his interest, and he’d bought everything that did catch his eye, spending nearly a million Nether and Aether coins in the process.
It was now time to get down to the main business.
It was time to examine those three items the shopkeeper had mentioned to him.
The shopkeeper had sent his staff outside and gone to his office with Mirael and Dean.
As soon as they entered the office, the shopkeeper’s shadow shifted, and three objects emerged from it.
They were three glass boxes of different sizes.
Three objects, each containing something different.
One held a spear, another an old and broken key, and the last contained a thread.
The young man was just about to take a step forward to examine these three items with curiosity when the system had already told him what they were:
[A-Grade Fortune Threads have been found.]
[A-Grade Heavenly Treasury Key has been found.]
[S-Grade Spear of Dawn has been found.]
