Chapter 183: Chapter 166: Let’s Have a Talk, I’ll Take You Over
Lu Feng stared down the barrels of their guns, then glanced at Black Snake, Hadona, and the others beside him.
If he hadn’t brought them along, these members of the Kurdar Clan would already be dead men.
So, for now, he chose to restrain himself.
Sometimes, a man has things he must consider. This is a matter of humanity and conscience.
One naturally chooses to avoid unnecessary losses.
"Of course, no problem. I’ll go see your leader, Mr. Feilin. After all, our business isn’t concluded yet," Lu Feng said to Bulin with a smile. He then gave orders to Black Snake and the others. "Hadona, you’ll come with me to translate. The rest of you wait for me here!"
Black Snake, Red Lizard, and the others exchanged a look. They all knew of President Lu’s strange and unfathomable abilities, and they likely understood that right now, they were a burden to him.
So, they all nodded in unison.
"Excellent. Mr. Red Lizard has made the right choice. Please!" Bulin smirked triumphantly. ’Just as I thought. No one dares to defy us at gunpoint.’
’Once he’s in Dalat Town, he won’t be able to escape even if he grows ten pairs of wings. Not unless he hands over the Gold he got from that country, or tells us where the rest of the Gold is.’
Lu Feng followed Bulin out of the courtyard and headed toward Dalat Town.
Back in the courtyard, Bulin had left behind a large group of men, their guns aimed at Red Lizard, Black Snake, and the others.
Red Lizard raised his own gun in response, and the standoff remained tense.
But Bulin’s attention was solely on Lu Feng. His mind was consumed with thoughts of the stolen Gold from that country, and he seemed to have forgotten to give his men any further orders.
Without orders, neither side would open fire. After all, everyone cherished their own life.
’If shooting starts, some of us are guaranteed to die. Who knows if it’ll be me?’
There was no need; no one was willing to take that gamble.
The crucial thing was, neither side dared to lower their weapons.
’At gunpoint, lowering your weapon is the same as handing your life over to the enemy, isn’t it?’
Thus, both sides could only keep their guns aimed at each other. This was fine for a short while, but as time dragged on, a sore, numbing sensation began to set in.
It was not a pleasant feeling, especially as more and more time passed.
But in this situation, all they could do was endure. Soon, men on both sides began to sweat, beads of perspiration trickling down their faces.
Finally, Black Snake was the first to break. "Hey," he said, "everyone’s arms getting sore?"
The two sides glanced at each other.
Red Lizard gritted his teeth. "Not sore! It hasn’t even been that long!"
A man on the opposing side retorted, not to be outdone, "Hmph! Whose arms would be sore? We’ve all had professional training!"
"Red Lizard, I’m getting a little sore. You guys hold on, I’m gonna rest for a bit!" Black Snake, after all, hadn’t had much professional training and truly couldn’t take it anymore.
As he spoke, he lowered his hand and began to stretch his arm.
This scene made everyone on both sides turn to look at him.
’Isn’t he being a little too casual for such a tense standoff?’
Watching Black Snake’s movements, the men on both sides subconsciously wanted to shake out their own arms, but not wanting the enemy to see, they could only grit their teeth and endure.
Black Snake was clearly aware of everyone’s condition. He said with a grin, "The big shots have gone to talk. They haven’t declared war yet, so why are you all doing this? Why don’t we all put our guns down and take a break?"
"You put them down first!" one of Bulin’s men finally couldn’t help but say.
Red Lizard immediately shot back, "We put them down together!"
"We’ll lower them in shifts!" another of Bulin’s men suggested.
Evidently, both sides were extremely cautious.
...
Lu Feng sat in a car, flanked on both sides by a member of the Kudar Clan. Moreover, there were cars both in front of and behind his, also filled with Kudar Clan members.
This was, in effect, an escort to prison.
The Kudar Clan was watching him like a hawk.
’I’m actually a little confused. What is the Kudar Clan’s objective? Could it be for that bag of Gold I showed them earlier?’ he wondered.
’That doesn’t seem right.’
’For a faction this large to ruin its reputation over that small amount of Gold... the losses would clearly outweigh the gains.’
’But if it isn’t for the Gold, then what is it for?’
That was what he couldn’t figure out.
’But it doesn’t matter. If I wanted to, all these people could be sent to meet King Yama right now.’
’But since this has happened, I might as well blow it up a bit.’
’This Feilin is courting death, so I might as well grant his wish. Whether I kill him or not can be decided later. First, I need to put an electronic leash on him, get him under control, and take over the Kudar Clan’s forces.’
He originally had no such plans.
But since Feilin served himself up on a platter, he couldn’t be blamed for what came next.
’Honestly, it wouldn’t be bad to control an arms channel myself.’
’That way, if I need anything in the game world in the future, it will be much easier to bring it in.’
Soon, the convoy reached the Kudar Clan’s base.
When the guards saw Bulin, they immediately let the three cars pass. The vehicles drove straight toward the main hall of the base.
Arriving back, Bulin found that the main hall had been completely cleaned up. The tables had been replaced with brand-new ones, a special perfume had been sprayed in the air, and the walls were hung with numerous decorations, completely concealing any sign that a great battle had just taken place.
Bulin led Lu Feng into the hall and walked toward Feisen, who was waiting inside. "Sir, I’ve brought the man."
Feisen stood up, walked over to Lu Feng, and looked him up and down. "So, you’re the one they call Red Lizard?"
Hadona, who had followed them in, immediately began to translate.
Lu Feng didn’t answer. Instead, he asked, "Where’s Feilin? You’ve brought me all the way here; it’s time for him to show his face, isn’t it?"
Hearing this, Feisen laughed out loud. "My sincerest apologies, but you won’t be seeing him. Because I’ve already taken care of him. By the way, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Feisen, and the Kudar Clan is now under my command."
Lu Feng paused for a moment when he heard Hadona’s translation.
On the way here, he had been thinking that Feilin was courting death and was planning how to teach the man a lesson before putting the electronic leash on him.
Who knew the situation was not what it seemed? Feilin had already been dealt with.
In other words, a coup had taken place within the Kudar Clan.
Feisen then chuckled again. "Red Lizard, I think you first need to get a clear grasp of your situation. You are now in my hands. So, you should start thinking about how you’re going to stay alive."
"I know the origin of that batch of Gold in your possession. After all, word has already spread from that country. That batch of Gold could have crossed the border into any of the surrounding nations."
"It now seems that you’ve brought that batch of Gold into our lawless territory. So, hand it over. It will be for your own good."
Lu Feng was stunned when he heard this.
’If they were after the Gold, or even demanded he hand it over, I could understand.’
’But his words are completely off.’
’Apparently, a country had a batch of Gold stolen, and that Gold might have crossed the border into one of the countries around the Dara region.’
’So, because I took out a single bag of Gold, this Feisen automatically connected the dots, assuming that what I have is that specific batch of Gold. That’s why he staged this whole play—to get his hands on it.’
’What a completely unforeseen disaster.’
’All I wanted was to simply buy a batch of weapons to bring into the game for Qingfeng Base to use. Who knew there’d be this kind of screw-up?’
’But since it’s already happened, there’s nothing to be done about it now.’
’Perhaps heaven itself wants me to subdue the Kudar Clan.’
’If that’s the case, I can’t very well go against heaven’s will.’
Seeing Lu Feng remain silent, Feisen spoke again, his voice cold. "You can take a moment to think carefully about what to do. However, I won’t give you much time. I hope you won’t provoke my anger."
As Feisen spoke, he sat back down with a smug smile.
’I’m in control of the situation now,’ he thought. ’I’m not in a hurry. Giving him time will only put him under more pressure and break his spirit. If he really doesn’t know what’s good for him, his willpower will be that much weaker when I have to use my methods.’
Lu Feng shook his head at these words. Instead, he turned to Hadona, the translator, and said, "In a moment, remember to get down on the floor."
Hearing this, Hado was stunned for a second, then nodded immediately.
He knew President Lu was about to make his move. He had personally witnessed President Lu’s god-like, unfathomable power.
’This Feisen probably has no idea that someone as terrifying as President Lu even exists in this world, does he?’
A moment later, Feisen spoke again. "Red Lizard, how’s the thinking coming along? Surely I don’t need to get rough with you, do I?"
Lu Feng smiled and said, "Actually, I’d rather have a discussion with you. How about I take over the Kudar Clan?"
This completely irrelevant response left Feisen momentarily speechless.
Bulin and the surrounding Kudar Clan members were also stunned, staring at Lu Feng in disbelief.
’Has this man gone insane?’
’Does he not realize the situation he’s in?’
"Good. Very good." Feisen couldn’t help but laugh.
He loved people like this, who didn’t know their place. It meant he would have the chance to "entertain" them, to torture them. And when they finally broke and confessed everything, the sense of accomplishment would be all the greater.
He waved his hand, and two Kudar Clan members immediately understood. They walked directly toward Lu Feng, intending to restrain him.
The two men reached out, one grabbing for each of Lu Feng’s shoulders.
But their hands had barely extended when they felt two impossibly fast fist-shadows slam into their faces.
All they felt was an excruciating pain in their faces. Then, blood gushed from their mouths and noses as their vision went black, and they fell backward, stiff as boards.
This scene made Feisen’s expression turn grim to the extreme. "Very good. You’ve got guts and good skills. But I wonder, are your fists harder than bullets?"
While Feisen was still speaking, Bulin had already drawn his pistol and fired a shot directly at Lu Feng’s leg.
