Chapter 559: Chapter 321: Chang’an (Part 3)
Qin Yuesheng no longer paid attention to her and immediately headed towards the stairs to the second floor. The madam intended to follow him, seeing how generous Qin Yuesheng was with money, almost like the God of Wealth. If she could serve him well, she might make a fortune. However, Qin Yuesheng wasn’t interested in that and waved her away.
"Wine, bring me wine, quickly!"
Upon reaching the second floor, he could clearly hear someone shouting from a room, and Qin Yuesheng walked over. Sure enough, the Gold Toad official was inside.
A few turtleboys from the brothel were greedily fumbling over him, trying to find the Exorcism Toad.
"The Gold Toad official of the Seven Star Bureau has fallen to such a state; it’s truly laughable," Qin Yuesheng said leaning against the door frame.
Suddenly, the drunken man lying motionless on the table opened his eyes. His Inner Strength surged forth, instantly pushing away the turtleboys around him, crashing them into the wall.
The drunken man had undergone a transformation; he looked at Qin Yuesheng with a serious expression, his eyes full of Spirit, showing no trace of drunkenness.
Qin Yuesheng had once heard Zuo Zonghao speak about the official ranks and strength within the Seven Star Bureau. Those at the Tenth Layer are above the Gold Toad, and the Exorcism Toads they possess have unique, one-of-a-kind materials.
Those who possess the Gold Toad typically have the strength of the Eighth or Ninth Layer.
"Who are you?" the drunken man asked.

Qin Yuesheng didn’t act mysteriously and directly took out his Copper Toad and shook it: "We’re all in the same profession, no need to be so cautious."
"Copper Toad official." The drunkard displayed a peculiar expression. In Chang’an, the Seven Star Bureau, composed entirely of Inner Power masters, had always been a thorn in the side of the eunuchs. As a rebellion swept the nation, the eunuchs used the new emperor’s hands to dispatch all Seven Star Bureau officials into the army to quell the rebellion.
Currently, there should be no Copper Toad officials left in Chang’an, so where did this fellow before him come from?
"I was promoted by Zuo Zonghao. Is he still in Chang’an?"
"The people in the Seven Star Bureau aren’t many, but not too few either. I’m not familiar with the person you’re mentioning."
Qin Yuesheng understood the drunkard’s reply—there was a considerable gap between Copper Toad officials and Gold Toad officials. As a Gold Toad official, it was normal not to know all the Copper Toad officials.
"Since you’re here, sit down and have a drink with me. Life in Chang’an is becoming more unbearable," the drunkard said very casually, waving his hand.
Being a Grandmaster now, Qin Yuesheng exuded an aura that had returned to its natural state. Unless he acted, those below a Grandmaster couldn’t discern his true strength.
Seeing the drunkard’s invitation, Qin Yuesheng didn’t refuse and walked over to sit down: "What’s your name?"
"Just a common name, Ye Fan."

Qin Yuesheng nodded: "It is quite ordinary."
"You must have returned from the front lines, right? What happened, did the Great Tang’s army lose?" Ye Fan casually grabbed a wine cup and a wine jar with some liquor left, intending to pour for Qin Yuesheng. His attitude was genuinely courteous, completely disregarding the fact that, by rank, Qin Yuesheng was his subordinate’s subordinate.
Though those who accomplished great things were not constrained by minor details, Qin Yuesheng had no interest in touching something unknown who had drunk from, so he straightforwardly declined: "No need, I just want to ask you a few questions. What’s the influence of the Unrooted Sect in Chang’an, and where do their people usually reside?"
Ye Fan’s hand paused in its pouring gesture, giving Qin Yuesheng an extraordinarily odd look: "You intend to target the Unrooted Sect? You have some nerve; it’s as if you don’t fear death."
Qin Yuesheng replied: "Just tell me."
"I advise you to give up that thought. A Copper Toad official like yourself can’t even handle me, let alone go against the Unrooted Sect. Not afraid of it being leaked, I’ll share a secret: within the Unrooted Sect, there’s a master even the Chief Officer dares not offend."
The Chief Officer of the Seven Star Bureau is the Prince of the royal family, Li Mu, who has reached the Tenth Layer of the Inner Power Realm.
It’s said he’s only a step away from becoming a Grandmaster.
For him to feel threatened, it speaks volumes about how powerful the master in the Unrooted Sect really is.
Qin Yuesheng had already learned this from An Dianlian; the Sect Leader of the Unrooted Sect is also a Grandmaster.
