Chapter 57: Chapter 56: The Four Great Domains and the Six Great Forces

Tang Lian had left.

Tang Yi felt an emptiness in his heart, but he channeled all his longing and reluctance into motivation, becoming even more determined to strive for greatness.

For the past two days, Tang Yi had been resting. He wasn’t in a hurry to go out and grind monsters to level up again. He needed to adjust his mindset and condition, striving to make his next leveling session last longer. He didn’t want a repeat of last time, where he was utterly exhausted after just three days of monster grinding.

Of course, this time he also had to make ample preparations for a long-term expedition, bringing enough food, water, and all sorts of supplies.

Since Tang Yi had defeated Tang Mingtian and killed the Seventh Elder, no one had come looking for him during his two days of rest. No one came to hold him accountable for the Seventh Elder’s death, which allowed Tang Yi two days of welcome peace and quiet.

It wasn’t until the third day that a clansman came to find Tang Yi, telling him that the Clan Leader was waiting for him in the main hall.

Tang Yi knew that what was bound to happen would happen eventually. He had to give the Tang Family an explanation one way or another, so he didn’t refuse and followed the clansman straight to the main hall.

Upon arriving at the main hall, Tang Yi discovered that it wasn’t just his father, Tang Haotian, who was present; all the Elders had gathered as well.

"Yi’Er, you’re here," Tang Haotian said with a beaming smile upon seeing Tang Yi arrive.

"Yes, I’m here," Tang Yi replied respectfully.

Seeing Tang Haotian’s attitude, Tang Yi knew that the Tang Family probably wouldn’t pursue the matter of him killing the Seventh Elder too harshly. After all, the Seventh Elder had sneak-attacked him first and deserved to die. Besides, even if they did press the issue, Tang Yi had no intention of submitting.

"Have a seat first. We can talk once you’re settled," Tang Haotian said, gesturing toward a seat and motioning for Tang Yi to sit down.

The seat Tang Haotian pointed to was none other than the Seventh Elder’s former position—the second most important seat in the Tang Family!

With the Seventh Elder dead, his position had become vacant. Who would have thought Tang Haotian would direct Tang Yi to sit there?

Moreover, the other Elders all looked as if this was perfectly natural.

It seemed the battle in the Martial Arts Arena had left a deep impression on all the Elders.

Tang Yi didn’t hesitate and sat right down.

Seeing Tang Yi sit down with such composure, Tang Haotian was extremely satisfied. ’Yi’Er has grown up,’ he thought. ’His temperament and mindset have matured considerably, and his old weakness is gone.’ Tang Haotian was very pleased to see this calm confidence in Tang Yi.

Though he was happy inside, and it showed on his face, the matter to be discussed next was extremely serious. Tang Haotian suppressed his smile and said earnestly, "Yi’Er, I’ve called you here today to discuss an important matter with you. This matter concerns the future development of our Tang Family and is of the utmost importance, so I want to hear your opinion and ask for your consent."

"Oh? What is it?" Tang Yi asked, puzzled.

He hadn’t expected Tang Haotian to start by asking about his strength or the matter of killing the Seventh Elder. Instead, he brought up something else entirely, which surprised Tang Yi.

"It’s like this. I wonder how much you know about the ’West Mansion,’ Yi’Er." Tang Haotian didn’t state the issue directly, but instead posed a question to Tang Yi.

’West Mansion?’ Tang Yi searched his mind. Although his strength had improved rapidly, he hadn’t actually been in this world for very long. In his memories, there wasn’t much information about the ’West Mansion’.

He only knew that the Four Great Domains were dominated by the Six Great Forces: the First Palace, the Two Mansions, and the Three Great Upper Sects.

The First Palace is Chaotian Palace, the most powerful of all, located in the center of the Four Great Domains.

Although the people of Chaotian Palace are exceedingly strong, they act with a low profile and rarely travel through the Four Great Domains. There isn’t much information circulating about them, making them seem quite mysterious.

The Two Mansions are the West Mansion and the Six Gates Mansion. The West Mansion is located in Jiuji City in the Western Domain, and the Six Gates Mansion is in Six Gates City in the Eastern Domain. These two forces are the centers of power in the Western and Eastern Domains, respectively, and they control all civil order within their domains.

The Three Great Upper Sects include the Purple Cloud Sect, the Blood Saber Sect, and the Beast Heaven Sect.

The Purple Cloud Sect and the Blood Saber Sect are in the Northern Domain, where the two forces are rivals and frequently clash. The Beast Heaven Sect, however, reigns supreme in the Southern Domain, an unrivaled power that no one dares to provoke.

Each of the Six Great Forces has its own strengths, so it’s hard to say which is stronger or weaker. As for the West Mansion that Tang Haotian mentioned, Tang Yi only knew it was one of the Six Great Forces and the center of power in the Western Domain. Beyond that, he knew nothing else.

"Father, I don’t know much about the West Mansion. I only know that it is one of the Six Great Forces of the Four Great Domains and the center of power in the Western Domain. Beyond that, I know nothing else," Tang Yi said honestly.

"Mm, then let me tell you about the West Mansion," Tang Haotian nodded and continued. "You’re right. The West Mansion is the center of power in our Western Domain, the master of civil order. In the Western Domain, everyone from Noble Families like ours to the minor sects, and even every single individual, is bound by the West Mansion’s constraints and cannot violate the rules it establishes."

"In every city and town in the Western Domain, there are powerful experts from the West Mansion stationed to maintain peace. To put it bluntly, the West Mansion is the master of order in the Western Domain. The rules it issues are the rules for the entire Western Domain."

"Here in our Fengyue City, there is also a West Mansion residence with its experts standing guard. All the Noble Families and individuals in Fengyue City must obey its commands. They don’t meddle in the usual disputes between Noble Families, but if the stability of Fengyue City is at stake, they will intervene and eliminate anyone who violates the rules."

"Mm," Tang Yi nodded. He was starting to understand. ’The West Mansion is basically the equivalent of the ancient governments on Earth.’

It has residences in every city and town, garrisoned by numerous powerful experts. This isn’t just to maintain regional stability, but also to monitor all other factions and secure its absolute dominance in the Western Domain.

’The Six Gates Mansion in the Eastern Domain is likely a similar kind of power,’ he mused.

Seeing that Tang Yi understood the power of the West Mansion, Tang Haotian saw that the time was right and said, "Actually, the reason I’m telling you this is because it’s time for the West Mansion’s annual recruitment. They will open their gates to recruit and train outstanding disciples under the age of eighteen. As long as you pass the examination, you can enter the West Mansion and become one of their Outer Mansion Disciples. This is an incredibly rare opportunity."

"Father’s meaning is... you want me to apply to the West Mansion?" Tang Yi understood from Tang Haotian’s words, finally realizing the purpose of this meeting.

However, Tang Yi had little interest in this West Mansion. After all, he could just go to the Demon Beast Land to grind monsters and level up. His leveling speed would be incredibly fast, so he didn’t need any training from the West Mansion.

"No, it’s not just my idea. It’s the will of the entire Tang Family—the result of my discussions with all the Elders. This decision can only benefit you, not harm you. After all, once you’re accepted into the West Mansion, both your strength and your Position will improve. If the Tang Family can produce a disciple of the West Mansion, our own Position in Fengyue City will rise accordingly. Besides, with your strength, applying to the West Mansion should be no trouble at all," Tang Haotian explained.
