Chapter 55: Chapter 54: I’m Going Home

Tang Yi had actually spotted the Seventh Elder the moment he moved and leaped from the high platform.

But he remained impassive. Only when the Seventh Elder’s fist came hurtling toward him did he spin around with extreme speed and strike out with a palm.

"Celestial Star Palm!"

Tang Yi’s palm struck the Seventh Elder’s fist. The Seventh Elder was utterly astonished, unable to understand how his sneak attack had been exposed. But it was too late for him to pull back his fist now. He could only grit his teeth and let his fist collide with Tang Yi’s palm.

When a palm strike from a Battle Spirit Powerhouse using an Earth-level Lower Grade Martial Skill met a Battle Grandmaster, even a fool knew what the outcome would be. Although the Seventh Elder had launched a sneak attack, Tang Yi’s strength was far greater than his, and his speed was simply too fast, rendering the ambush completely ineffective.

BAM!

The instant the Seventh Elder’s fist made contact with Tang Yi’s palm, he was sent flying backward. In mid-air, his pupils dilated as he spewed a torrent of blood. He flew back more than ten meters, leaving a trail of blood in his wake.

A few Tang Family disciples couldn’t dodge in time and were splattered with blood, cutting a miserable figure.

And when the Seventh Elder landed on the ground, his eyes rolled back in his head, and he stopped breathing.

Just then, a notification appeared in Tang Yi’s mind.

"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for killing Tang Feiyin. You have been awarded 100,000 Experience Value and 0 Battle God Value."

Dead!

"Hmph!"

Tang Yi glanced at the Seventh Elder’s corpse with disgust, snorted coldly, then turned and stepped off the ring, preparing to leave the Martial Arts Arena.

Tang Fangzhou and the Seventh Elder’s faction had always been against Tang Yi. It was a matter of when, not if, he would have to kill them. So, he took this opportunity, used a tiny bit of his strength, and killed the Seventh Elder to eliminate this nuisance.

From the moment the Seventh Elder made his move to when Tang Yi struck him dead, only an instant had passed. It all happened so fast that the crowd hadn’t even processed it. They stared in utter amazement, first at Tang Yi, then at the Seventh Elder’s corpse, at a complete loss for words.

Everyone now had a single thought: ’The Tang Family is in for a seismic shift!’

"Tang Yi, you devil! You murderer! I’ll kill you!"

At that moment, seeing Tang Mingtian sent flying with his fate unknown and the Seventh Elder killed with a single palm strike, a woman let out a furious cry and charged toward Tang Yi.

This was none other than the Seventh Elder’s granddaughter and Tang Fangzhou’s sister, Tang Fanghua.

Tang Fanghua’s strength was leagues below that of Tang Mingtian, let alone the Seventh Elder. How could she possibly be a match for Tang Yi?

Fortunately, Tang Yi didn’t have a habit of hitting women. So, upon seeing Tang Fanghua charge at him, he simply gave a slight wave of his hand, summoning a powerful gust of wind that sent her flying.

The gust of wind held no real power; it merely pushed Tang Fanghua away.

"If you want revenge, come back when you have the strength to actually get it. The gap between you and me is too vast. I can’t be bothered to kill you," Tang Yi said nonchalantly as he walked away from the Martial Arts Arena, not even turning his head.

In truth, there were three reasons he didn’t kill Tang Fanghua.

’First, I don’t hit women.’

’Second, Tang Fanghua could never pose a threat to me. After all, I have the system. No one can keep up with my leveling speed. Even if Tang Fanghua were to have some great fortuitous encounter in the future, she’d never catch up to me!’

’Third, there’s no Experience. I’m already a Battle Spirit, and each Level requires an enormous amount of Experience Value. As my strength increases, killing people or Demon Beasts with Levels far below my own no longer yields much Experience Value. A mere Battle Master like Tang Fanghua wouldn’t give me much Experience at all.’

"Tang Yi, you just wait! I’ll tear you to pieces!" Tang Fanghua roared maniacally.

Hearing Tang Fanghua’s words, Tang Yi just chuckled, completely unconcerned. Without breaking his stride, he vanished from the Martial Arts Arena.

After Tang Yi left, the crowd erupted.

Flicking away the number one genius, Tang Mingtian, with two fingers, and killing the high-ranking Seventh Elder of the Tang Family with a single palm strike—Tang Yi had undoubtedly become the center of everyone’s attention and discussion.

Everyone was intensely curious about Tang Yi, unable to comprehend how his strength had soared to such an unreachable height in so little time.

There were those who speculated, those who admired, those who were disdainful, and even more who worshiped him. The clansmen no longer dared to see Tang Yi as trash. In fact, some had already begun to see him as an idol, a goal to strive for, admiring him immensely.

「On the high platform.」

The Elders sat in their seats without a word, their thoughts unknown.

After a long while, an Elder sighed with emotion, "Tang Yi has truly given us a great shock... and a great surprise."

The other Elders nodded. Then, everyone, including Tang Haotian, gathered together and began discussing something in hushed tones.

...

Just as Tang Yi reached the entrance to his residence, a petite and charming figure excitedly ran up and hugged him from behind.

Tang Yi smiled faintly, letting the figure do as she pleased.

"Brother Tang Yi," Tang Lian said sweetly from behind him.

Ever since they had confessed their feelings for each other that day, Tang Lian was no longer so shy and had become much bolder and more open.

"My dear Lian’er, you gave me quite a start. By the way, did you see your Brother Tang Yi’s magnificent display of power just now?"

Tang Yi turned around, wrapped his arms around Tang Lian, and said with a wide grin.

"Of course I did! My Brother Tang Yi is the best! I was even cheering for you, but it was too crowded and noisy, so you couldn’t hear me."

Held in Tang Yi’s arms, Tang Lian leaned against his strong chest, her face blushing red, but she didn’t struggle.

"Good girl, Lian’er!" Tang Yi praised, stroking Tang Lian’s beautiful hair.

"Hey, don’t treat me like a child! Lian’er isn’t little anymore," Tang Lian pouted playfully.

"Alright, alright," Tang Yi replied with a laugh, though his hand never stopped gently stroking Tang Lian’s hair.

After they hugged and teased each other for a while, sharing a sweet moment, Tang Lian suddenly pulled away from Tang Yi’s embrace, seemingly troubled by something.

"What’s wrong, Lian’er?" Tang Yi asked, confused.

’Everything was fine just a moment ago.’ He couldn’t understand why Tang Lian had suddenly become unhappy.

He quickly wracked his brain, trying to think if he had done something wrong to upset her, but no matter how hard he thought, he couldn’t come up with anything.

"Brother Tang Yi, I’m fine." Tang Lian looked at Tang Yi’s face, reached out her small hand to caress it, and then said seriously, "Actually, I came here because there’s something I have to tell you. This might be the last time we see each other."

"What is it? Lian’er, don’t scare me." Seeing her expression, Tang Yi had a bad feeling. ’Whatever Lian’er is about to say,’ he thought, ’it’s probably not going to be good news.’

"I... I’m going home," Tang Lian said finally, after a long, drawn-out moment of hesitation.

"Home? Isn’t this your home?" Tang Yi said, stunned. He felt a tremor in his heart, as if he was about to lose something precious.
