Chapter 802: Chapter 758: The Reunion of the Three Titans

The lines on the screen fluctuated rapidly, the peaks and troughs merging into a phantom, and Star Hero’s body began to convulse on the bed, while Batman clutched his head, swaying back and forth as if in a hangover.

At this moment, a red and blue shadow rushed in from outside the door directly to the bedside, pulling Can Luo away from Star Hero’s face.

"My tentacles!"

Gu Lu screamed in the consciousness of everyone in the room.

The figure who rushed into the room was naturally Superman Clark. He had just worked with Barry to send the world’s populace back to their homes; however, the cities flooded by water still faced troubles in returning to normal life.

Clark wanted to return to the Hall of Justice to rest a little, clean up before heading back to Metropolis; after all, he couldn’t go home covered in blood and grime.

Superman was human too; after solving global crises, the feeling of fatigue bubbled up from within like a spring.

Barry insisted on fixing the world’s power stations, so members of the Lightning Clan were still running globally, not exceeding the upper speed limits for safety, so they wouldn’t have any downtime tonight.

Clark returned to the Hall of Justice and had to chat with the staying Batman, but the command hall was empty, and the walls of the Hall of Justice shielded X-ray vision, so he could only float in the corridor, searching everywhere.

He ended up passing by the infirmary door and seeing Batman messing with Star Hero.

Secretly accessing someone else’s memories while they were unconscious, especially an established Hero, was such a dark act....

"Batman, what are you doing?!"

Clark looked at Can Luo in his hand and roared in a low voice. The Justice League had suffered enough from the Psychic Sea Star, and yet Batman dared to play with it casually again.

Batman clutched his head, staggered to support himself on the side table, seeming not to hear Superman’s words, but rather focused entirely on that secret.

"Damn, I was close to something just now, Kendra’s wings, the creature on the Origin Wall, and what consciousness in the Totality... Their queen?"

Diana, just returned from Paradise Island, passed by outside the door. The state of Paradise Island was decent, as the island had few electric appliances and repairing stone houses wasn’t difficult.

She merely led people to clean up the various debris that had risen with the tide.

There was something strange.

She vaguely felt that something odd was happening in her life, but on careful thought, there seemed to be nothing in her memory.

She flew back to the Hall of Justice, her brow furrowed in thought.

As the queen of the Amazons, she needed to settle her own country before addressing greater world issues. It’s not only her, but Sea King and Mera would do the same.

She came back only to see Superman and Batman arguing.

She didn’t really want to interfere; these two often clashed suddenly, but after arguing, they got even closer, something everyone was used to.

However, seeing Batman looking on the verge of fainting, Diana quickly jumped in to support him. She also heard the previous conversation and understood that Batman used the Sea Star again.

Diana was helpless; although she thought Bruce wasn’t wrong, as sometimes justice requires any means necessary, even if Star Hero awoke, he wouldn’t refuse to share information.

But Clark also wasn’t wrong, justice needs a bottom line, and using such means on another hero might cause problems for the Justice League if seen and spread by others.

"You need to sit down, Bruce; this is beyond what a mortal can bear."

Diana discreetly separated Bruce from Superman, leading him to a chair on the side.

Batman was still engrossed in the memories he had seen before, the things existing in the depths of Star Hero’s mind, only existing spiritually, some special energy not matter, that he had never seen before.

"I was close to knowing... But that feeling was like staring at the sun up close, Can Luo, are you okay?"

Bruce pushed away Diana’s support, using willpower to control his body, walked to the bedside, and took the Sea Star from Clark, placing it back in the jar with great care.

"I’m okay, Dad, it hurt a lot, but I’m a tough guy, just like you."

Gu Lu wriggled a few times in the jar, as if showing off muscles.

Clark shook his head slightly, sighed helplessly, and his tone softened a lot: "I know handing the Totality to Luthor is part of your plan, but now things are out of control and you’re scared, but you can’t link your brain with the energy source in Star Hero’s mind, it could kill you."

"Exactly, Luthor is researching the Totality, and we must keep up with him, so I must know what exactly is in the Totality."

Batman leaned on the chair, holding Can Luo in his arms, speaking deeply.

Clark activated his x-ray vision, staring directly at Star Hero’s head, where the azure light was as bright as the sun.

"No matter what you think, the energy inside exceeds normal levels. We need to observe rather than take risks. This unknown energy could rip a hole in our world. We should do our best to heal Star Hero and wait for him to wake up."

Diana also looked at Batman and earnestly said, "Bruce, we are a team, we share our victories and defeats. I know you’re anxious, we all are, but we will eventually learn the truth."

Batman stood up and silently walked out of the room, knowing that with Clark and Diana there, he couldn’t do anything; he had to change his plans.

Swish, the door automatically opened, and the Bat slowly disappeared into the darkness outside the door.

The room regained its silence, with only the occasional soft beep from the life monitor beside the bed. Star Hero lay peacefully, and his injuries were recovering quickly.

Originally, when he fell into the Hall of Justice, half of his body was severely burnt, and half of his brain was cut away by Luthor. But now his external injuries had greatly improved, with the burn range reduced to just half his face, and various data indicating he should wake up.

Clark and Diana exchanged a glance, both sighed; what Batman planned to do was hard for anyone to stop. His walking away surely meant he was activating a backup plan.

"What should we do?"

Diana rubbed her long hair, her small face filled with fatigue.

Clark shrugged. How should he know what to do? Asking him was no better than consulting the Hall of Justice’s computer mainframe.

Already expecting this, Diana gave him a glare, Superman always falls apart at critical moments, sigh...

Superman looked at Star Hero on the hospital bed, then at his own tattered clothing, with residual waste in his body; he felt helpless too.

"Forget it, I’ll go follow Bruce, you go back and rest." In the end, Superman decided to use a close-follow tactic, whoosh, he flew away.

Diana tugged at her cloak to cover her white shoulder, pinching her chin as she stood pondering. How could she sleep now if she returned to the lodging area?

The Totality falling into Luthor’s hands was indeed part of Batman’s plan, but now, something seemed to have gone against his expectations, making Bruce deeply regretful and urgent.

This isn’t the first time Batman’s plan has exceeded control; in the Metal Event, the invasion of the Main Universe by the Dark Knight Order also bore Bruce’s responsibility.

But Diana stated everyone was a team, and she truly believed that, so rather than blaming anyone, it was better to think of ways to win together as a team.

Speaking of knowing beforehand that Batman would hand over the Totality, and guessing his plan, there indeed was someone...

Diana left the room and headed for the control center, where she could check where that person had gone.

However, after only a few steps, she saw a pair of pointed ears emerge from the corridor corner and quickly vanish.

"Hmm?"

Diana squinted her eyes, striding quickly after them. Could Batman have shaken off Superman’s pursuit and still intend to act against Star Hero?

But upon reaching the corridor corner, she found the owner of the pointed ears was not Bruce but Barbara, the young girl leaned against the wall, grimacing with a ’oh no, caught’ expression.

Her strange expression raised Diana’s suspicions, so she approached Barbara, walling her in a "kabedon" pose: "So late, why haven’t you gone home?"

Barbara turned her head away, feeling Diana’s breath on her face, with Wonder Woman’s gaze like that of a Mother Tiger. Reminded of her actions, she felt a bit guilty.

"Nothing, just about to go home." Barbara pursed her lips, lifting her eyebrows, trying hard to stretch her expression to not seem so stiff.

"Really?" The Tiger’s eyes narrowed.

"Uh-huh, goodbye, I’m leaving, good night." Barbara slipped out from under Diana’s arm, ran away swiftly, her deep blue cloak bouncing as it disappeared around the corridor corner.

Diana straightened herself, revealing a quirky smile; approaching Barbara wasn’t about creating a lesbian atmosphere, but because she’d found a clue.

Barbara had the scent of cigarettes on her, a scent unique to Otherworldly Deathstroke’s cigarettes, she couldn’t be mistaken.

Bruce and Clark would occasionally smoke cigars together, having a completely different smell. Across the entire Justice League, including second and third lines, the only smoker was Constantine, whose Skar cigarette didn’t have this scent.

When did Barbara start mingling with Deathstroke? The Bat Clan shouldn’t have any interactions with him...

Diana was adept at discovering clues, her senses were sharp, though typically it was Batman or Ron who analyzed them. The complexities baffled her.

At this point, she had no answers, only bewilderment as she continued toward the control room; she felt Barbara seemed quite guilty and afraid of her, but why?

No clue.
