Chapter 801: Chapter 757: Seeking the Bat’s Secret

Su Ming quietly landed on the top of the apartment building, first checking the surveillance devices he had set up earlier, and after confirming they were in order, he leisurely descended from the rooftop.

As for the Justice Association, Su Ming temporarily had no plans to deal with a bunch of old-timers.

Even though there were icons like ’Steel Monroe’ Superman, ’Johnny Thunder’ the Divine Speed Warlock, the inspiration for Captain America ’Mr. America’, and the super-transformative robot ’Red Dragon Roll’, among others.

Though strong, their kind of pure justice is quite difficult to implement in society nowadays.

These people are basically in retirement now, and they haven’t shown up even during a string of recent events, with the Justice League rarely interacting with them.

Except for Hawk Woman having some connection with the Justice Association’s Hawk Girl, others aren’t really interested in the Justice Association.

Mainly Batman doesn’t trust resurrected Dead, let alone those veterans who emerged from the Divine Speed Plane.

This group always has a subtle feeling to them, and what interests Su Ming about the Justice Association is the ’prototype’ of the Marvel Punisher, the ’Crimson Avenger’ in a red trench coat.

No need to elaborate, the origin story and the style of action are almost identical; seeing criminals means relentless street shootouts, explosive strafing, punch after punch, blood flying everywhere, and walking away casually afterward, bearing injuries that would have killed others several times over.

On one hand, Su Ming is curious how an anti-hero got mixed into the Justice Association; on the other, the Crimson Avenger has two pistols with infinite bullets.

That’s right, the Crimson Avenger has been patrolling New York since 1938, already having infinite bullet weapons back then.

Su Ming doesn’t have them yet...

It’s not about wanting to snatch his weapons, since guns don’t serve much purpose in battles now, but Su Ming is curious about the principle of infinite bullets; one never knows when it might come in handy.

However, these small matters will be set aside until after the Origin Wall issue is resolved; there’s no need to engage with those people now.

Su Ming descended the stairs in the dark; Harley’s property is a four-story building, with most rooms on the first and second floors rented out to a bizarre circus.

The so-called bizarre circus means many members are seen as monster jokes by ordinary people, such as conjoined twins, dwarfs, hermaphrodites, giants, and the like.

Harley herself lives in a suite on the third floor, and sometimes Ivy or Selena, along with other women, come to stay with Harley.

While the fourth floor has been turned into an indoor garden by Ivy, planting a tree and laying a full lawn.

Harley raises dozens of cats within this garden, often needing to clean cat litter, hence the ’poop launcher’ on the roof to save garbage disposal fees.

These cats serve other purposes too; although Harley doesn’t intend to be a villain anymore, she sometimes ends up killing people deliberately or inadvertently.

It’s possible that she might happily smash someone’s head with a big mallet or steel pipe, and after laughing enough, she’d find the person dead.

At such times, these dozens of cats prove useful; in just one night, they can devour the body of a grown man completely.

Not just the flesh, the cats’ tongues are good at licking blood too, it’s as simple as licking milk from a cat bowl when drinking blood from an abdomen.

Once only bones remain, they’re relatively easy to handle; with a bit of decoration, they can serve as props for the circus, taken out for shows boldly.

Destroying the body in broad daylight, with everyone applauding!

Su Ming pushed open the door, finding the messy room just as when he left; Harley and Poison Ivy were playing cards, sticking notes on each other’s faces.

"Hey~~ Deathstroke, back already?"

Harley gave a big smile, her eyebrows moved up and down, eyes wide open, and those notes were squeezed off her little face.

"Mm, you guys keep playing."

Su Ming walked over to the refrigerator, opened the door for a look; the fridge had water damage, and there were still some puddles inside.

He retrieved a bottle of wine from the water, turned, and walked towards his room, closing the door behind.

Harley rolled her eyes, tossing her head around like a bobble head, before looking at the dark ceiling with a pondering expression.

"How strange Little Red, when did Deathstroke leave? Wasn’t he supposed to be in the room?"

Poison Ivy gazed at the candle on the small table, consistently opposed to Harley and Deathstroke cohabiting, she heard Harley’s inquiry and maliciously spooked Harley.

"He’s definitely a ghost, the kind with bleeding eyes, attacking you at midnight."

"Ha!"

Harley seemed not to hear, fiercely pulled away a card from Ivy’s hand, matching it with her own and tossing them onto the table.

Then she twisted around on the chair, showing her empty hands to Ivy.

"La la la, I won~~~"

"Hmm! You ambushed me, it doesn’t count!" Ivy turned away, covered her face, a big leaf also blocking over.

"Tear!"

Harley smilingly ripped a long strip of paper from the magazine, extended her small tongue, licking from one end to the other, applying saliva evenly on the paper.

Then she jumped up doing a shimmy dance, holding the paper towards Ivy, a wicked smile on her face.

"Eee hee hee hee..."

"No, hate, bad Harley...."

Within the secret lies divine power, a type that transcends language and text.

Batman is well-versed in this.

Secrets change the world, bringing dazzling possibilities to all things; he knows well that handling secrets may determine life or death.

He placed the Alien Starfish Can Luo on young hero Star Hero’s face, aware Luthor took Star Hero away from his original time not by chance, and Star Hero’s escape likewise.

A hero from the Justice Society, meant to die decades ago, why does he suddenly appear in the Hall of Justice? Why precisely now?

Batman is always silent, even alone he wouldn’t talk to himself.

His expression remains unchanged, and even if the opponent has only half a brain, he still stays vigilant.

The Final Machine is more than just a treatment device; in Batman’s hands, it’s a tool for torture and lie detection, using Can Luo’s psychic ability alongside a bunch of computers and cables; Batman believes he can extract something from Star Hero’s brain.

He knows the power of secrets can change a person or harm them, yet he relentlessly seeks.

His black-gloved hand gently tapped the screen, instantly pressing several buttons, issuing a series of commands with a deep voice.

Suddenly, Batman was struck as if by lightning, secrets washed over like a tsunami, and in an instant he bled from seven orifices.

From the last conflict, the injuries Luthor left still remain in Batman’s memory; he was seriously hurt. But for some reason, his physical condition is good now, as if he was never injured...

Conflicting memories make him value secrets even more.

However, what lies in Star Hero’s mind isn’t the answer he wants; that future is too terrifying....
