Chapter 477: Seeking Gu Shuo’s Help for Seeds 4

"What business is it of yours why I’m looking for him? Just get him down here."

"Well..." The man hesitated.

Ye Qianning had no patience for their nonsense. She scanned the room, her ears twitched slightly, and she headed for the stairs.

"Hey, little lass!" Seeing the girl walk away, Zhan Chi quickly gave chase.

"Whoa, Young Master Zhan, my boss isn’t in..." Seeing Zhan Chi’s intentions, the man rushed forward and grabbed him in a bear hug. ’My boss has been in a foul mood the last couple of days. Seeing the young master of the Zhan family would probably just make it worse.’

"Let go of me! I don’t care if he’s here or not." Zhan Chi struggled against the man’s grip, his gaze anxiously following Ye Qianning.

"Young Master Zhan, you can’t just barge in. If you don’t stop, I’ll have to call for help."

"Let go! If you don’t, I’ll smash this whole Water Mirror Platform to pieces!"

"Ow! Even if you smash the place, I can’t let you in! Help! Someone, help! Young Master Zhan is starting a fight!" The man clung desperately to Zhan Chi’s waist.

Zhan Chi gritted his teeth in frustration, watching helplessly as the little girl disappeared up the stairs.

"Get off me." Once her figure vanished from sight, Zhan Chi showed no more mercy. He grabbed the man and executed a perfect shoulder throw.

"AGH..."

The man hit the ground hard, rolling around and groaning in pain.

Zhan Chi looked up to find a group of attendants surrounding him.

"Young Master Zhan, if you insist on smashing the place, we won’t stop you," the manager said, stepping out from the crowd. "But I must remind you, the Water Mirror Platform is a royal enterprise. When the Emperor hears of this and assigns blame... Well, you might want to think twice."

Zhan Chi, who had been rolling up his sleeves to fight, froze. ’If I cause a scene, wouldn’t my daughter look down on me even more?’

’She came here for business, and I’m here making a scene...’

At this thought, he lowered his arms, and the anger on his face subsided.

Seeing this, the manager smiled. ’Even imperial relatives don’t dare to act out of line at the Water Mirror Platform.’

"I’m here to see Gu Shuo," Zhan Chi said, having calmed down.

"Boss Gu is not in today. Perhaps Young Master Zhan could come back another day."

"Not in? Then... pour me a pot of tea." ’If he’s not here, the little lass should be back down soon.’

The manager hesitated but didn’t dare to be disrespectful. "Young Master Zhan, please have a seat. I’ll have someone bring you tea right away."

Zhan Chi shot him a cold glance before walking a few steps and sitting down.

The manager shot a look at one of the attendants, who quickly scurried toward the back.

Ye Qianning reached the fourth floor. She had passed several people on her way up, but they all just gave her strange looks without trying to stop her.

Once on the fourth floor, she walked to the third room on the left. Standing outside the door, she could faintly hear someone speaking with Gu Shuo. It seemed Gu Shuo himself hadn’t said a word the entire time she was walking up.

She raised her hand and knocked.

"Who is it?" a voice called from within.

"Me."

The childish voice startled the two people inside the room.

The attendant frowned, but Gu Shuo froze, a flash of delight appearing in his eyes.

"Some kid must have gotten lost. I’ll go see... Young Master?" Before the attendant could finish, he saw his master leap from his chair like a gust of wind and rush to the door.

Gu Shuo reached the door but paused for a moment before opening it. Even though he knew it was the little girl, seeing her standing there when he opened the door still felt slightly unbelievable.

"What are you doing here?" he asked, his voice filled with unconcealable excitement.

"I came to discuss something with you. Do you have time now?" Ye Qianning asked.

"Yes. Come in," Gu Shuo said, stepping aside.

Ye Qianning entered the room and gave it a quick scan. The room was very simple, with two walls lined with antique-style shelves. Every cubby was piled high.

They all appeared to be ledgers. In the center of the room stood a round table with chairs, and beyond that was a writing desk.

’There wasn’t a single unnecessary piece of furniture. If this were the modern era, a guy like Gu Shuo would be the stereotypical workaholic CEO.’
