Chapter 486: Chapter 316: Godhood Plan (Part 2)

"Only by sending the Blue Star Human Race’s greatest geniuses into the resource-rich universe can we enable them to reach their full potential. Only then will there be a sliver of hope that they can one day help Blue Star escape the control of the Nian Race."

Su Ze didn’t want to be a wet blanket, but after some thought, he said, "I don’t know anything about the universe, but I do know the Nian Race isn’t considered a Weak Race out there. The number of God-level powerhouses they have is incalculable. Even if the Blue Star Human Race produces a few God-level powerhouses, the hope of them growing strong enough to rival the Nian Race is slim to none."

"Slim hope is still hope. If we don’t do this, there will be no hope at all," Mr. Ke said resolutely. "As long as the Blue Star Human Race has not been wiped out, as long as Blue Star remains unliberated, we will continue to do this. We will constantly cultivate gifted God-level powerhouses and send them into the universe. Even if I die, the generations after me will see it through!"

Su Ze nodded. Mr. Ke was right. This was the only way for Blue Star to retain a sliver of hope.

"So, you and Mr. Chen plan for me to be the first one?"

"Actually, in the beginning, Chen and I disagreed. He wanted to prioritize your development, whereas my preferred candidate was originally Deng Sui," Mr. Ke said frankly.

Deng Sui?

Su Ze’s eyes flickered. "You believe he hasn’t been possessed by the Nian Race?"

Deng Sui was one of the three current Legendary powerhouses on Lin Hua Continent. He was also the youngest of the trio and currently the sole candidate to be the next sovereign.

However, he had also entered the Divine Dice in the past. Although he claimed not to have obtained a Bloodline Crystal, the truth of the matter was impossible to ascertain.

In the conflict between the Blue Star Party and the Alien Party, Deng Sui had always remained neutral.

He was a powerful Legendary powerhouse, just over a hundred years old—an age considered young for someone at his level. Furthermore, he had only been in his eighties when he completed his sixth evolution to become a Legendary.

It was safe to say that if not for Su Ze’s meteoric rise, Deng Sui could have been called the most talented evolver on Lin Hua Continent.

A person like that perfectly fit Mr. Ke’s requirements.

The only problem was that it was impossible to determine if he was trustworthy. There was no way of knowing if he was friend or foe.

Mr. Ke said, "I don’t trust him. That’s one of the reasons I ultimately gave up on him and chose you."

"Originally, I intended for him to be the first choice. After all, he’s already at the Legendary level; one more evolution and he could attain godhood. You would have been the second choice, and we would have focused all our efforts on you after Deng Sui achieved godhood."

"But for one thing, despite my numerous investigations and tests, I could never determine if Deng Sui was truly trustworthy. For another, your rate of growth has exceeded my wildest imagination."

The reason Mr. Ke had initially disagreed with making Su Ze the first choice was that Su Ze was only a Saint-level Hegemon at the time, with a long road ahead before he could reach godhood.

Mr. Ke worried he might not have much time left, as his own life was nearing its end.

If Mr. Ke were to die before a new Legendary powerhouse emerged within the Blue Star Party, there would be no one left to take up the mantle. How could they possibly contend with the Nian Race powerhouses in the Alien Party?

But if they could win over Deng Sui, things would be different. Even if Deng Sui didn’t reach the God-level in Mr. Ke’s lifetime, after Mr. Ke’s death, Deng Sui’s strength would be enough for him to become the new leader of the Blue Star Party and continue the struggle against the Nian Race.

But in the end, two factors changed his mind. First, Deng Sui couldn’t be trusted. Second, Su Ze’s power was increasing at an incredible rate. A Venerable Powerhouse at eighteen years old... This made Mr. Ke feel that, given his current physical condition, if he just slept more and conserved his energy, he could definitely last long enough to see Su Ze become a Legendary, even if he couldn’t hold on until the day Su Ze achieved godhood.

Then, the Blue Star Party would have a successor.

And so, the scales in Mr. Ke’s heart finally tipped in Su Ze’s favor.

Su Ze took a deep breath. He’d never been one for responsibility and pressure. There were some things he would naturally do if he had the ability.

Take rescuing the Blue Star Human Race, for example. If his power grew to the point where he could overwhelm the Nian Race, he would naturally free Blue Star from their grasp.

But to make that his sole motivation for desperately trying to improve his strength—that, he couldn’t do for now.

However, he pursued higher planes of existence for his own sake; his desire to grow stronger was for himself, not born from a need to save Blue Star.

And once he was strong enough, once he had the power, he would save Blue Star then.

So, when it came down to it, his goals didn’t actually conflict with the expectations Mr. Ke and the others had for him.

"If I have the chance to leave Blue Star and travel the universe, I will do my best to increase my strength. And should I become powerful enough to save Blue Star, I will spare no effort in doing so," Su Ze promised.

He spoke with sincerity; these were his true thoughts.

As for leading the Blue Star Party in their struggle against the Alien Party after Mr. Ke’s death, Su Ze had made no such promise. From the bottom of his heart, he found such matters tedious.

For Mr. Ke, this promise was enough. He could sense that Su Ze wasn’t just paying lip service.

"Excellent. Since you’ve agreed, I’ll tell you about the ’Godhood Plan’ formulated by the Blue Star Party’s upper echelon!"

Even though it was a Spiritual Transmission, Su Ze could sense the joy in Mr. Ke’s emotions.

"I’m listening," Su Ze said, all ears.

"We call every God-level powerhouse of the Human Race we intend to cultivate a ’Seed of Hope.’ The ’Godhood Plan’ is a scientific, rational plan tailored to the specific circumstances of a given ’Seed of Hope’ to help them achieve godhood."
