Chapter 485: Chapter 316: The Godhood Plan
That night, Su Ze sent an encrypted text to Mr. Ya, asking him to keep an eye on Draco’s movements when he had time. The goal was to locate the Filth Earth Organization’s wilderness stronghold through Draco, but without tipping them off.
Mr. Ya had recently been active along the border of Luofan Country, and as it happened, Vita City, where Draco was located, was within his operational area.
Vita City was located in the northwestern corner of Luofan Country and also happened to share a border with Ancient An Country.
Su Ze even suspected that the Filth Earth Organization’s stronghold might not be in the wilderness at all, but right within the borders of Ancient An Country.
The next morning, Su Ze heard Chen Suifeng downstairs, calling him for breakfast.
Chen Suifeng was always going on about taking care of his health, eating three square meals a day without fail. But he was just as consistent with his smoking, drinking, and betel nut chewing.
Today’s breakfast was small wontons. The translucent, meat-filled morsels floated in a clear broth, sprinkled with chopped scallions and dried shrimp, their savory aroma tantalizing the senses.
After they finished breakfast, Chen Suifeng led Su Ze to see Mr. Ke.
Mr. Ke was still staying with the Lin Family. After all, he had long been retired, held no official post in the Lin Hua Country government, and due to his health, he couldn’t possibly work a nine-to-five schedule as he had in his youth.
The members of the Lin Family were already waiting at the entrance to welcome them. This reception was a far cry from his last visit; not only was the Lin Family’s Clan Leader, Lin Tiannan, present, but so were several of the clan elders.
Conversely, Lin Luo and Lin Yutong, the two Su Ze knew, were nowhere to be seen. It was likely their status wasn’t high enough to be included among the clan elders.
Chen Suifeng was a frequent visitor, so the Lin Family wouldn’t roll out the red carpet for him like this every time.
Therefore, such a grand reception was entirely for Su Ze.
It was clear that the Lin Family’s attitude toward Su Ze on this visit was completely different from the last.
On his last visit, although Su Ze was already a Saint-level powerhouse, to the Lin Family, he was merely a junior with potential. That was why they had arranged for Lin Luo and Lin Yutong to entertain him.
This time, however, the clan leader and all the elders had turned out in full force.
This was, of course, because of the leap in Su Ze’s power. A Venerable Powerhouse was a major figure anywhere on Blue Star, to say nothing of an eighteen-year-old one with terrifying potential.
Su Ze suspected it also had something to do with Mr. Ke’s attitude.
From what Chen Suifeng had implied, Mr. Ke intended to cultivate Su Ze as the great hope of the Blue Star Human Race. The Lin Family, as staunch supporters of the Blue Star Party and being so close to Mr. Ke, had surely known this for some time.
It was no wonder, then, that the Lin Family regarded Su Ze with such importance.
Mr. Lin Tiannan, the Clan Leader of the Lin Family, said with a laugh, "Young friend Su Ze, it hasn’t been long at all, yet you’ve already become a Venerable. You truly put us old-timers to shame."
Su Ze replied humbly, "Mr. Lin, you flatter me. The only reason I’ve managed this meager accomplishment is that I’ve worked just a little bit harder than everyone else."
’He wasn’t about to mention his cheat system.’
Chen Suifeng’s mouth twitched. ’An eighteen-year-old Venerable Powerhouse? As if anyone could achieve that through hard work alone.’
Lin Tiannan coughed. Unsure how to follow up on that, he could only say, "Mr. Ke is already waiting for you."
"Then we should hurry. We mustn’t keep Mr. Ke waiting," Su Ze said quickly.
Lin Tiannan led the way, and the group soon arrived outside Mr. Ke’s residence.
The others didn’t even enter the courtyard gate, waiting outside while Su Ze went in alone.
Inside, an old man sat in a wheelchair, his eyes cloudy and his expression drowsy. The moment Su Ze entered, however, the man’s eyes brightened considerably, and his whole spirit seemed to rally.
"Mr. Ke," Su Ze said respectfully.
’Su Ze felt a deep respect for this elder, who had dedicated his entire life to the Lin Hua Continent and had even given up a chance at godhood in the wider universe for its sake.’
"Sit wherever you like," Mr. Ke conveyed via telepathy.
His body was so weak he couldn’t speak, so he communicated exclusively through telepathy.
Su Ze nodded, moved a chair, and sat down opposite Mr. Ke.
By then, Mr. Ke had already closed his eyes, seemingly falling into a deep sleep.
Su Ze knew, however, that only Mr. Ke’s physical body was asleep; his mind was still active. This was a way for him to conserve his physical energy.
"When I last saw you, Chen told me a great deal about your merits," Mr. Ke’s voice echoed in Su Ze’s mind. "But I didn’t pay it any mind. When one gets old, one becomes stubborn, deaf to the words of others.
"After all, I’ve seen too many outstanding youths in my lifetime. I myself was hailed as a genius in my youth, and I later witnessed the rise of General Lin Hua, who was an even greater talent than I. So, I don’t tend to pay much mind to any single young genius," Mr. Ke conveyed.
Su Ze nodded, showing his understanding.
’Su Ze had sensed as much during his last visit. Mr. Ke hadn’t paid him much attention; they had only really communicated when Su Ze was explaining the Nian Race invasion.’
’At first, Mr. Ke had even been wary, disbelieving the news Su Ze brought. He’d even used his spiritual pressure on Su Ze to test if he was lying.’
’But Su Ze understood completely. A stranger—a wet-behind-the-ears kid in his teens, no less—suddenly shows up telling him that aliens have invaded the Lin Hua Continent he’d spent his life protecting. Telling him that the current sovereign, his own successor, was actually an alien in human skin. No sane person would believe that instantly. They would only suspect the messenger of having some ulterior motive.’
Mr. Ke continued, "But the series of events that followed proved both your ability and your potential. The intelligence you provided was especially crucial. It revealed the Nian Race’s scheme, allowing us to formulate a targeted response.
"When I learned from Chen that the Nian Race planned to farm us Blue Star humans like livestock, we reached an immediate consensus: we humans of Blue Star must cultivate our own god-level powerhouse and send him out into the universe.
