Chapter 385: Chapter 289: The Future Situation

Chen Suifeng always wore a smile, but today he looked rather serious.

"Mr. Fen, do they suspect you?" Su Ze asked tentatively.

"They definitely suspect me, but there’s nothing to be done about it. This is a price that has to be paid."

Chen Suifeng had anticipated this when he agreed to help Su Ze. But if he hadn’t kept the Mu Country’s Saint-Emissary and the other overlords occupied, Su Ze would never have been able to kill the King of Mu so easily.

He couldn’t just watch Su Ze go to his death, nor could he stand by as his path of evolution was cut short.

After all, in his eyes, Su Ze was "hope."

"Is your skill complete now?" Chen Suifeng asked.

"Yes." Su Ze nodded repeatedly. "The remaining Bloodline Crystal was with the King of Mu, just as we thought. And he really was possessed by one of the Nian Race—the aliens..."

Su Ze gave him a rough summary of the situation.

However, he only mentioned that the King of Mu had two Bloodline Crystals. He didn’t elaborate on the origin or skill of the second one, nor did he bring up the puzzle.

’He believed the King of Mu hadn’t told anyone about the puzzle either, not even his own people. Judging by how much the King of Mu prized the Golden Bloodline Crystal, he must have been planning to keep the mysterious inheritance all to himself if he got the chance.’

Chen Suifeng wasn’t surprised that the King of Mu had two Bloodline Crystals. After all, all the Bloodline Crystals on Blue Star came from the Nian Race. As a Thought Race Divine Spirit, it wasn’t particularly strange for him to procure an extra one.

He said, "I’d long suspected the King of Mu was an alien. You could tell from the reaction of Lin Hua Country’s top brass after he died. I’ve never seen them take the death of any other overlord so seriously."

"Lately, my phone’s been bugged, and people at work have been watching my every move. Luckily, I was careful and didn’t give them anything to use against me. They finally stopped their surveillance a couple of days ago, so I made an excuse about going to the border to kill some beasts and took a detour to get here."

Hearing this, Su Ze took out a Spirit Communication Phone, pressed it into Chen Suifeng’s hand, and explained its purpose.

"The range is too small, otherwise it’d be pretty useful. Could keep those sons of bitches from eavesdropping," Chen Suifeng said, toying with the phone.

"If you go kill a Spiritual Venerable and bring me its brain to use as a base station, the range will cover the entire Lin Hua Continent."

Su Ze was just speaking off the cuff, but to his surprise, Chen Suifeng actually considered it seriously, then nodded. "I’ll go kill one if I get the chance."

Chen Suifeng plopped down onto the sofa. "Got anything to drink?"

"I can make you some tea?"

"Any Coke?"

"Yes."

Su Ze got a can of Coke for Chen Suifeng and sat down across from him. "This plan to absorb the six nations into Lin Hua Country—is that the aliens’ idea too?"

Chen Suifeng nodded. "That’s right. Mr. Ke coming out of retirement to intervene in state affairs already made them suspicious. The King of Mu’s death only provoked them further. So, their insistence on absorbing the six nations into Lin Hua Country is also a way of testing us."

"Of course, they genuinely want to do it, too. Once the six nations are absorbed into Lin Hua Country, their control over the people of the Lin Hua Continent will reach a new level. It’ll be much harder for humanity to organize any resistance against them in the future."

"But don’t worry. With Mr. Ke in the picture, many high-ranking officials in Lin Hua Country have already joined our camp. We’ve explained the situation to the ones we can trust. Right now, the top leadership in Lin Hua Country is split into two factions: the ’Alien Party,’ led by Sovereign Jiang Pingle, and the ’Blue Star Party,’ led by Mr. Ke. Of course, those are just the names we use for them in private."

"Our Blue Star Party isn’t weak, either. We’ve gathered leaders from many of Lin Hua Country’s departments. We all share a common enemy, so the Alien Party’s proposals won’t pass that easily."

"Then what about the other legendary powerhouse, Deng Sui? What’s his position?" Su Ze asked.

"He’s remaining neutral for now. Whether it’s genuine or feigned neutrality, we don’t know. It’s also possible he’s waiting for the Alien Party to gain a clear advantage before he steps in and delivers the final, crushing blow."

Su Ze frowned. "But Lin Hua Country is unwilling to support the six nations and even wants to recall the Saint-Emissaries. If the beast attacks intensify, and we start seeing Tier-Five or even Tier-Six beasts, how are we supposed to handle it?"

Chen Suifeng sighed. "The Alien Party still controls the military of Lin Hua Country. Jiang Pingle is the sovereign in name, after all, and we don’t want to have an open falling-out with them just yet. It definitely puts us in a passive position."

"If Tier-Five or Tier-Six beasts really do appear, Mr. Ke and I will find a way to come and provide support. Dongli is close, after all. It’s the countries farther away, like Peninsula Country and Ancient An Country—if they get attacked, we might not make it in time."

Su Ze felt a wave of relief. ’As long as Dongli can get help, that’s what matters. As for Ancient An Country and Peninsula Country, what do they have to do with me?’

’Still, the most important thing is to increase my own strength as quickly as possible. Relying on others for support is ultimately untrustworthy.’

Su Ze scoffed. "You don’t have to worry about Ancient An Country. If there’s a beast attack, the Filth Earth Organization will protect them."

"What do you mean? Ancient An Country is colluding with the Filth Earth Organization?" Chen Suifeng’s eyes narrowed.

"I don’t have any concrete evidence, but I’m almost certain that Ancient An Country has been in cahoots with the Filth Earth Organization for a long time."

"How could Ancient An Country dare to collude with the Filth Earth Organization right under the Saint-Emissary’s nose? And the Saint-Emissary never reported anything unusual..." Chen Suifeng said with a frown.
