Chapter 56: Would I lose?

In the center of the academy’s training grounds, I sat with my hands clasped behind my back, staring into space with empty eyes, completely ignoring the three opponents standing in front of me.

I said,

"All of you can attack me anytime you want."

Kellan frowned in displeasure. It seemed he felt insulted by my words, as if I were belittling his strength. One corner of his mouth twitched upward.

"Are you sure, President?"

Maria, who had experienced fighting against me before, stared at me with eyes full of caution before speaking.

"Give me a little time to discuss it with them."

I nodded indifferently.

Then, the three of them began discussing among themselves. I knew Maria would tell her teammates about my true strength and how powerful I was, so they might come up with a proper plan to fight me.

I never thought Maria would start using her brain instead of just her muscles. It looked like my kicks had finally given her brain a few more wrinkles.

"Henry! Remember, don’t kill anyone!" my wife shouted from the second-floor observation area.

I glanced at my wife and nodded calmly.

I wouldn’t kill anyone, because from now on, they would be my new tools. Damaged tools were useless, so I would never do that... at least, not as long as they still had value.

Maria spoke with a firm voice.

"We’re ready."

I lowered myself into a fighting stance, ready to clash at any moment. My eyes locked onto my three opponents.

Maria fought in a close-combat style similar to mine and possessed a unique bloodline ability – healing herself while simultaneously multiplying her strength.

As for Kellan and Hugh, I had yet to see them fight. Even though they were weaker than Maria, they could still be troublesome variables in battle.

I would never let my guard down, even if my enemy was an ant.

Maria and Kellan charged at me first. Meanwhile, Hugh merely drew his spear and stood back, watching me.

I didn’t know what kind of plan they had, but I hoped it would at least provide me with a little amusement.

The two of them coordinated their attacks while launching strike after strike at me. Their movements were quite fast, especially Kellan, who was surprisingly agile despite his hulking build.

But they would need far more effort to even touch me. With [Abyssal Shadow Step] cultivated to its limit, my movements were simply too elusive and unpredictable. The sound of my footsteps echoed like the rhythm of a beautiful melody.

As soon as Kellan unleashed a brutal sweeping kick at me, I simply twisted my body in midair, dodged it effortlessly, and grabbed his massive leg with both hands.

My hands locked around his leg before violently twisting it, creating a spiraling force that ripped through his pant leg and sent the muscles along his thigh twisting all the way up to his hip. At the same time, it forced Kellan to let out a painful scream that echoed throughout the entire training ground.

"DAMN IT!" Kellan’s face twisted in pure agony as he looked at his leg, which had nearly been twisted in every direction. But thanks to his thick muscles, he had escaped the fate of having it broken.

Maria rushed toward me, slamming her shoulder into me to force me away from Kellan. Since the distance was too short, I couldn’t dodge. So, I instantly responded with the same downward heel kick to her head that I had used against her before.

Her head was immediately slammed into the floor with tremendous force, sending a thunderous boom throughout the training ground.

Watching from the second-floor observation area, my wife could only wear a twisted, unbelievable expression as she watched me brutally beat them.

However... Suddenly, I felt a chill run down my spine. Thanks to my bloodline skill, [Heightened Senses], I sensed a sneak attack rushing toward me at lightning speed from behind.

In an instant, I turned around and saw Hugh charging at me with a sharp spear. I frowned and quickly caught it with my right hand before flipping through the air. My legs spun several times like helicopter blades before I finally drove a straight kick into Hugh’s chest.

He was sent flying backward, skidding across the ground like a broken puppet before crashing into the wall of the academy’s training grounds.

I grimaced as a piercing pain shot through my right hand before spiraling across the rest of my body. I lowered my gaze to the spear, whose tip continuously crackled with arcs of lightning. Blue runes flickered nonstop along the entire length of the spear shaft.

’’Enchanted Weapons?’’

A type of weapon crafted exclusively by the dwarves of Eryndor. Using ancient methods, they engraved runes onto their weapons, with each type of rune granting a different power. Like this spear, for example. The arcs of lightning had paralyzed my body, and now I couldn’t even move properly.

But how did Hugh obtain it? Enchanted weapons were extremely rare. The dwarves forged them only for themselves, or gifted them to a select few they deemed worthy.

"I caught you... Hahahaha." Kellan burst into laughter, baring his white teeth as he grabbed my ankle.

I merely stared at him with indifferent eyes before instantly stomping on his hand, crushing it into a bloody pulp of flesh and shattered bones, sending a deafening scream echoing throughout the training ground.

Kellan’s face twisted in pure agony as he let out powerless groans.

"Y-You pieces of shit... It’s just a practice match!"

I fought to regain the feeling in my body before quickly moving away to avoid them. But it was difficult. I guessed I needed around thirty seconds to fully recover.

However... in the blink of an eye, my vision suddenly changed. It was as if I had just teleported. The scenery shifted, and I found myself standing in another spot on the academy’s training grounds.

I glanced around and saw the three of them standing some distance away, each of them wearing a smirk.

Goosebumps spread across my body as I sensed a killing intent directed at me.

I turned around and saw a gigantic golem’s fist hurtling toward me at incredible speed. At this rate, it would definitely hit me, but in my current state, I was unable to dodge.

Would I lose?
