Chapter 922: Chapter 743: Two Bottles of Love Potion (Part 2)
In response, Kael only said to thank Harry, as he was the one who gave him the inspiration.
This was also true. If he hadn’t come across Harry, Ron, and Hermione discussing Soul Artifacts in the hall earlier, Kael wouldn’t have thought of this idea.
What Slughorn was most resistant to were things or topics related to Soul Artifacts. If you wanted to keep your distance from him, just talk about those things.
Kael felt a bit annoyed. Why hadn’t he thought of this before!
...
From February to March, the weather hadn’t changed much. It was still cold as usual, but with added dampness and wind. Tiny snowflakes blew against the classroom windows, making a crackling sound.
It was the weekend, but people weren’t particularly happy because they had just received notice that the trip to Hogsmeade had been canceled.
"This is the second time!"
During breakfast, Kael heard someone complain, "How could this happen? I’ve been looking forward to it since last week!"
"I already expected this." Justin Finch-Fletchley walked over and patted the other’s shoulder, "Don’t forget, that Gryffindor is still in St Mungo’s."
"But I ran out of candies at Christmas, and I was hoping to buy more."
"I bought quite a lot last time," Macmillan said, "but now I only have Multi-Flavor Beans and Fang Mint Candy left."
"Lucky you, I should have bought more things for a Galleon last time."
Kael walked past them.
Regarding the cancellation of the Hogsmeade trip, he wasn’t surprised either. Besides the previous attack, missing person reports in the recent Daily Prophet were increasing, with some being relatives of Hogwarts students.
In such circumstances, the school certainly wouldn’t allow students to leave campus easily.
Kael and Conna sat down beside an empty seat to have breakfast.
"Kael, do you have any plans today?" Conna asked, spreading jam on her bread.
"No, why?"
"I want to try a new Magic Potion today," Conna said, "but there are quite a few things to prepare, and it’s a bit complicated to handle. If you’re free, can you help me?"
"No problem." Kael nodded, "When?"
"How about after breakfast? We can go to the underground classroom."
"I think it’s better to go to the Room of Requirement." Kael thought for a moment and said, "If we go to the underground classroom, we might run into Slughorn. I’ve heard he rarely holds his favorite parties anymore, and it would be bad to scare him again.
The Room of Requirement is also well-equipped, and the environment is better than the underground classroom."
"That works too." Conna nodded in agreement.
After breakfast, the two of them went to the eighth floor and ran into Harry and Ron there.
However... they both looked a bit off.
"Let go of me, Harry! I need to find Romilda Vane, don’t stop me!"
Harry held onto Ron’s arm tightly, dragging him forward, while Ron twisted and struggled like a fish thrown onto the shore.
"Yes, yes, I’m taking you to her now," Harry said without turning his head, "She’s in Slughorn’s office. We’re going there now."
"Why is she there!"
"Maybe attending Potion Class..." Harry said offhandedly.
"Maybe I could apply to join her!" Ron said with a blissful expression.
"Yes, yes, you can... oh, don’t drool on my sleeve!"
"What’s going on?" Conna leaned over to Kael and asked, "Look at Harry’s eyes; do they look bruised? And I feel like Ron’s not quite right."
Kael looked over and noticed that Harry did have a faint bruise around his left eye, about the size of a fist.
With Ron’s infatuated demeanor, Kael had a guess about what was happening.
"Harry!" he called to them, "Ron didn’t drink a Love Potion, did he?"
The only thing that could make Ron willingly give up his weekend for extra lessons, apart from the Imperio, was a Love Potion.
"I think so," Harry said hurriedly when he saw the two of them, "He ate the Chocolate Cauldron Romilda Vane gave me for Christmas."
"Then that’s it.
"Conna mused, "Remember I said someone brought Love Potions into Hogwarts? Vane was one of them, but I thought I’d confiscated her Love Potion already."
"Obviously, she bought another bottle," Kael shrugged.
"Let’s not talk about that now," Harry said anxiously, "Do you have any solutions?"
Kael walked over and tapped Ron’s forehead with his wand.
"Amor Dispel!"
"Hey, what are you doing!" Ron said, unhappily pushing Kael away, then turning to Harry, "Let go of me, I need to find dear Romilda!"
"Didn’t work?" Harry looked at Kael in confusion.
"Obviously, Romilda used a genuine Love Potion, not a joke product from Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes," Kael put away his wand, "In this case, you’ll need to brew an antidote."
"Can you do that?" Harry asked.
Kael didn’t answer but just glanced at Conna.
"Half an hour," Conna said, "Neutralizing a Love Potion requires mixing several Magic Potions, but I’m missing a basic Calmative."
"If you don’t want to wait, you could go to the Hospital Wing or find Professor Slughorn." Kael turned to Harry again, "They should have ready-made potions available."
