Chapter 793: Chapter 700: Dementor Dropped Loot

Hertfordshire is located in the suburbs of London. According to the records of the Ministry of Magic, only one wizard lives here... Hermione Granger.

But now that Hermione has gone to Diagon Alley, only Muggles remain here.

Annoying gray mist envelops the sky over Hertfordshire, a misty expanse that looks as if it’s just been swept by a sandstorm.

On the street, several passersby cover their noses and mouths as they hastily walk by, tightly wrapping their clothes around themselves.

It’s really strange... it’s clearly July, but walking on the street is so cold that people are shivering, some even putting on winter clothes.

"This damn weather... the meteorologists should have their pay stopped for a month!" a man rubbed his hands, unable to help but complain.

He was here to deliver documents, so he wasn’t aware of the sudden drop in temperature. As soon as he stepped out of the subway, he felt like he had walked into a giant refrigerator. His thin clothes offered no warmth at all.

The man sped up again, finally breaking into a jog. All he wanted now was to deliver the document quickly and leave this peculiar place.

But strangely, the faster he ran, the colder he got.

Before he realized it, his breathing became heavy and his head dizzy. Every breath he exhaled turned into the white mist typical of winter.

A thin layer of frost formed on his suit, but the man didn’t notice. His legs moved forward stiffly, but at a slower and slower pace...

In the hazy gray mist, a black-cloaked figure floated in the air like a ghost above him.

"Hiss... woo..."

Accompanied by a sound like a bellows being drawn, the man’s expression became vacant. The joy of getting promoted that morning vanished, as did the excitement of celebrating with colleagues the previous night... All emotions related to happiness in his memory faded away bit by bit.

Panic gripped the man’s heart. He wanted to run, but his legs would not obey, and he couldn’t take another step.

The Dementor, having had its fill, removed its hood in mid-air.

In an instant, the man’s vision blurred more and more, and all colors disappeared from view...

Just as he was about to fall completely into darkness, he suddenly saw a glimmer of silver light.

The light was so bright, like the sun, illuminating everything and dispelling the cold. His frozen body gradually regained feeling...

In a daze, he heard a voice.

"Cedric, do you think we need to use the Forgetfulness Spell on him?"

"What spell?" The man pondered, using all his strength to open his eyes.

He saw two youths, about seventeen or eighteen years old, and he saw that silver light again... oh no, it was a jellyfish floating in mid-air.

"I must be dreaming, how could a jellyfish float in the air?" the man thought to himself.

But in the next second...

"Obliviate!"

Kael looked at the man who had fallen into unconsciousness again, sighed, and said, "Why did you have to open your eyes at this moment, now I can’t even make things easier."

The newcomers were Kael and Cedric. In fact, their presence at the Leaky Cauldron earlier was because they had come to deal with the Dementor problem.

After learning from Hermione that something was amiss here, the two of them came over directly and happened to rescue this man.

The silver jellyfish he had seen earlier was naturally Kael’s Guardian God.

Kael waved his wand and moved the man next to a mail box on the side of the road.

"Is he okay here?" Cedric walked over and stuffed a piece of chocolate into the man’s mouth.

"No worries, I know what I’m doing, and he’s eaten the chocolate. He should wake up in a few minutes."

Kael said, "Even if someone sees him during this time, they’ll just think he drank too much... this guy really had quite a bit, the smell of alcohol hasn’t faded yet."

"Alright then." Cedric stood up, eyeing the silver jellyfish beside Kael and the struggling Dementor entangled in tentacles.

"What should we do with this Dementor, should we take it back?"

"No need." Kael shook his head. "It just tried to suck out this man’s soul, we’d better resolve it on the spot."

As soon as Kael finished speaking, more tentacles wrapped around... like ice thrown into a fireplace, the Dementor quickly melted at a visible rate, soon leaving only a black cloak behind.

Cedric waved his wand and conjured a flame to burn the cloak to ashes.

"Kind of a waste, huh?" Kael couldn’t help but say.

"Waste?" Cedric looked at him puzzled. "What’s the use of this thing, can it be made into clothes?"

"Of course not, and even if it could, no one would wear it." Kael said, "But I’ve been considering suggesting to Fudge a bounty for Dementors, like killing one could earn Galleons from the Ministry of Magic."

"Are you serious?" Cedric thought Kael was a bit far-fetched.

Never mind whether the Ministry is willing to pay for it, how would one verify the killing of a Dementor, they can’t exactly send someone to monitor... Besides, not everyone’s Guardian God can silently bind a Dementor like Kael’s can.

Most Aurors trying to kill a Dementor can only use the Fiendfyre Curse, let alone other wizards.

And using that method, a Dementor would leave behind no cloak.
