Chapter 789: Chapter 698: Dementor-Repelling Necklace, the Two Extra People at Home_3
Everyone inside felt warm and cozy.
"Not bad, it really is the Patronus Charm." Kingsley said in amazement.
Although he knew it wasn’t fake, seeing it with his own eyes was still a bit incredible.
Being able to buy a magic tool containing the Patronus Charm for just two Galleons, this might be a once-in-a-lifetime chance.
"What a waste, Kingsley. Alastor and I verified it a long time ago." Tonks said but suddenly thought of something.
"Hey, the necklace Alastor and I bought wasn’t at this price, were you deliberately overcharging us?"
"Don’t make false accusations!" Fred said with a serious face, "The Ministry of Magic wasn’t collaborating with us at that time, so it was the normal price."
"I don’t care!" Tonks said unreasonably, "You need to refund my money."
"Don’t even think about it!" Fred and George said with a straight face.
To be fair, the necklace given to Tonks used materials they purchased themselves, so the price wouldn’t be as cheap as it is now.
"Can I have another one?" Tonks ripped off the slip of paper and handed it over.
"Thank you, two Galleons."
Tonks froze for a moment and threw over two gold coins with a disgruntled expression.
"Ah, I want one too." Harry quickly ripped off his slip of paper.
Next to him, Ron watched enviously. Although two Galleons was already cheap, he still couldn’t afford it.
"I’ll take three."
At this point, Bill came in, placing a stack of gold coins on the table. He looked at Ron and Ginny, smiling, "What are you waiting for? Quickly tear off your magic scroll slips."
Ron immediately got excited; he was so thrilled he almost tore the booklet in half.
Soon, the box of necklaces was emptied.
"Are you guys okay with this?" Bill looked at the necklaces in his hand, then at Fred and George.
"I imagine many wizards need this kind of necklace. It’s July 11th the day after tomorrow, do you have enough stock?"
"To be honest, it’s a bit tight." Fred frowned, "Kael suggested this only yesterday afternoon, we simply didn’t have time to make many."
"But it’s fine, we enlisted some help." George said, "Kael definitely doesn’t have time, and Conna has to undergo competitions at The Most Extraordinary Society of Potioneers, so we invited Cho and Hermione."
"They’ve already agreed, and will be heading to the second floor of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes by nine o’clock today.
"We have two days, hopefully, we can manage for a while."
"Today at nine?" Mrs. Weasley frowned, "But your work..."
"It’s no problem, Mom." Fred said, "This is our job; Minister Fudge agreed to it."
Hearing Fudge’s name, Mrs. Weasley had nothing more to say.
"If you don’t mind, I can help out too. I did pretty well in Magic Text." Bill thought for a moment and said, "Charlie’s monitoring mission should be ending soon; we can call him too."
"Of course, we don’t mind!" Fred said happily.
The Dementor-Repelling Necklace isn’t especially complicated, just the materials are expensive, so having someone to help is great.
As for confidentiality... there’s really no need.
"I’ll go too." Ginny raised her hand, "Though I might not be of much help, I can still draw Magic Text; I got an ’O’ in Ancient Runes this year, and I can also take this opportunity to learn about the practical application of Magic Text."
"Welcome, join us then."
Harry and Ron exchanged a glance. If anyone in the house is the freest right now, it’s definitely them...
They’ve been wanting to help somehow, and now it’s a good opportunity, and more importantly for Harry, Fred mentioned Cho would be there.
Though he’s gradually extinguished his competitive feelings with Cedric, miracles might happen...
Harry’s heart started to stir once more.
"We can help too." he immediately said.
But this time, Fred and George didn’t immediately agree, instead, they looked at them suspiciously.
"Sorry, did you two also choose Ancient Runes as a subject?"
"If I remember correctly, you didn’t, right?"
"Ancient Runes?" Harry blinked, stammering, "No, I didn’t."
Ron scratched his head, looking puzzled, "It’s just helping, why would we need to know Ancient Runes?"
With that, the previously lively dining room suddenly went quiet, and everyone looked at them with a strange expression.
Mrs. Weasley quietly bowed her head without saying a word, eventually finding an excuse to leave the dining room.
"Ah, it’s nothing." Fred forced a smile, patting both of them, "No need to help; enjoy your holiday at home."
Both of them, despite being naive, understood what that meant, and their faces turned red immediately.
"We can help clean up." Ron said.
"Exactly." Harry nodded, "Or pass things around."
They’d already decided that they’d do anything, as long as they could go to Diagon Alley together; otherwise, they’d really be the only idle ones at home.
Even the younger Ginny was useful, but they couldn’t do anything; it seemed a bit too embarrassing.
"Hmm... I appreciate your intentions." George contemplated his wording, then asked, "But we have three house-elves as employees, do you think we need anyone else for cleaning?"
"That might be a bit disrespectful to them."
Their faces turned even redder.
They never expected it; even falling short of Ginny was one thing, but now, house-elves even surpassed them.
Ginny quietly sighed and turned her face away.
