Hermione leaned back against the office door, slowly sliding down to sit on the floor.

Her heart still pounded wildly in her chest.

Lockhart's last meaningful glance lingered in her mind—why was he so interested in Amortentia, and what was it he said about its side effects being wonderful?

The more she thought about it, the scarier it became.

It made Hermione want to think uncontrollably—her brain was like that, curiosity always took over, with a determination to find the answer before stopping.

Most top students actually have this characteristic.

But Hermione, the top student of Gryffindor College, was even more conspicuous and reckless in this regard. Sure enough, as she repeatedly stared at Snape on the ceiling, Hermione also had a shocking idea.

"Unless Professor Lockhart is really into English traditions," Hermione suddenly widened her eyes as an absurd thought flashed through her mind, "he's been paying attention to Professor Snape!"

"And he's going to give Professor Snape Amortentia." Clutching the slip of paper in her hand, Hermione sneakily unfolded it for a look, and indeed, it was an "ambiguous" message that made her scalp tingle.

There were very few words.

It just said to come to the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor's office later. If this slip was addressed to Little Wizard Hermione, she might think it was a private lesson from Professor Lockhart.

However.

This was addressed to Professor Snape—surely it couldn't be that Professor Lockhart wanted to tutor Professor Snape? That makes no sense! Once she thought it through, the message on the little slip immediately became inexplicable.

"Oh my gosh! Did I accidentally discover the professors' secret?"

A surge of turmoil welled up inside Hermione's heart, and her fingers unconsciously twisted at the overly long sleeve of her black robe. Looking back, Lockhart's words were indeed quite peculiar...

Would you like to try my lemon cake someday?

This sounded just like... a date invitation!

"Oh, Merlin above..." Hermione covered her burning face, her thoughts racing uncontrollably, "This is so explosive; if other students in Gryffindor found out..."

Her thoughts hadn't ventured much further.

Suddenly.

Along with a rising sense of danger, Hermione found a strand of her long black hair silently falling, brushing past her nose and landing on the ground.

Of course, this was Snape's hair color. After all, Hermione still had Snape's appearance—everyone who endures Polyjuice Potion knows that this potion's formula is recorded in "Powerful Potion."

Its duration varies depending on the amount of potion consumed, and Snape had given Hermione a large dose to prevent her from reverting during class.

It would last at least twelve hours.

There was still a considerable amount of time before Hermione would change back. To be honest, after experiencing the wonder of this magical potion, Hermione had been pondering a rather peculiar question—if someone drank a potion with their childhood hair in it, would they transform into their child self?

Hermione didn't know the answer to this question.

However, if Ian were here, he'd certainly have an answer. Since Fleur, Fred, George, and even Mundungus, who are older than Harry, can become Harry, then reversing age certainly isn't a problem. So, if someone still has their childhood hair, like their baby hair, they could actually become an infant version of themselves.

That's the magic of magical potions.

"Miss Granger, even when facing a dangerous attack, can you still daydream like this?" Snape watched as Hermione was startled and then fell into a dazed look.

His tone was filled with annoyance but also a hint of helplessness—these Gryffindor College students really have nerves thicker than anything.

"Um... did you attack me?"

Hermione froze.

Feeling the gaze of the hanging bat, a chill crawled up her spine. Thanks to Ron's influence, she even began to suspect that Snape intended to silence her.

"Miss Granger."

Snape's cold voice came from the direction of the ceiling, "I'm not attacking you, I'm warning you—your rotten brain should stop having those disgusting imaginations immediately."

Clearly.

Snape's keen eyes caught onto Hermione's daydreaming, after all, he's wise beyond his years and doesn't even need Legilimency; just by looking at Hermione's ever-changing expressions, he could guess what nonsense she was thinking.

"Um... I'm not... I'm not now." Hermione quickly raised her head, seeing Snape hanging upside down aiming a magic wand at her, the tip still lingering with a trace of black mist.

She blushed and jumped up, originally wanting to directly refute, but ultimately could only sheepishly change her words, "Now, I was just thinking whether Lockhart would go and rat us out!"

This could be considered a fairly good method to change the subject.

Miss Beaver's quick thinking in a crisis still had some merit.

Sure enough, Snape was indeed concerned about this issue too, and unsure about its outcome, he fell into a contemplation and weighing, plunging the office into an eerie silence.

On the ground.

Neville's "unconscious" posture became even more rigid.

He didn't even dare to twitch an eyelash.

"Lockhart..." Snape finally spoke, his voice squeezing through his teeth, "His thoughts and actions are as unfathomable as ever. Until this curse is lifted, you must avoid him."

Exactly.

Even now, Snape felt like he had been cursed by Ririm, hanging upside down from the ceiling looking indeed like a bat, he felt like he was desensitizing even from his childhood fear.
