Chapter 7: Were you sleeping, system?
You are just slandering us. Alice complained in her mind.
She would never kill someone or let her friends kill anyone. And her relationship with Yuta was nothing like he was thinking; they were just childhood friends, more like brother and sister than lovers. What’s with this harem nonsense? Yuta can’t even talk with girls properly.
She saw Lalica ignoring all the bloody mess on the floor; she was moving closer to Loid. Okay, she accepted her best friend was abnormal; she was acting weird. Now, what is she doing?
Lalica stopped just one step away from him and spoke. "We were on the road, then suddenly there was snowfall, people turned into zombies, so we stopped here for some winter clothes and shelter... Don’t be afraid; we are not zombies or scratched by them,’’ Lalica showed him her arms, then circled, proving that she was telling the truth.
Alice looked at her friend; only today she found out what a liar she was, totally smooth, without any guilt on her face, as confident as ever. She wasn’t sure how many times she had lied to her like this; she would never find out.
She brought her here to introduce that boy. At first she planned to tell Lalica and Loid that she could hear his head voice. She wanted him to explain to Lalica so she would believe her and they could come up with a better plan to survive.
But the apocalypse started on the way: first with sudden snowfall; she was caught off guard; she heard Loid; it was unexpected by him too.
Then zombies thought she was prepared to see them, but it didn’t make it any less scary. Her legs were trembling so much that she was having a hard time moving. Lalica carried her all the way.
On their way, they even saw two people being eaten; she emptied her stomach there. Now there’s nothing left to throw up.
Though what was unexpected was Lalica’s strength; she carried her as if she was weightless and ran fast without getting out of breath; that totally isn’t normal, but she didn’t ask her about her abnormal strength and stamina since she didn’t get a chance, and they were not alone,
"I get it... you can stop," Loid said, awkwardly scratching his cheeks with his finger.
Then his eyes glanced toward her.
[Sure enough, the protagonist wants to kill me now. System, you’re too slow calculating rewards. No, take your time; just don’t mess up this time...]
Alice turned her head and looked at Yuta; he was glaring at Loid with a look she had never seen on him, filled with anger or something much more than that.
He wasn’t Yuta, she knew. So Yuta was really regressed, meaning he came back in time, right?!
When that happened, she didn’t know; maybe on the way, he was spacing out. And was muttering like it hadn’t happened earlier; why? What changed?..something like this.
Though she ignored him then since she was busy seeing snowfall and hearing Loid’s thoughts as he was helping and feeling bad for the two kids and their father; she felt good when he helped them, though she wanted to see what those items looked like that he gave them.
Now, seeing him face to face, he was really handsome and kind. He gave a handsome serial killer vibe, but his inner voice was really annoying at the same time. Like, after helping that family, he complained a lot and decided not to help anyone, and here. Looks like helping this beautiful doesn’t make him regret it at all.
Pervert!.
Annoying pervert thinks really badly about them? Why is he judging us based on a stupid novel? When he clearly said he won’t trust a novel.
Idiot Pervert taking advantage of a scared lady.
And what, that lost childhood friend. Was that me? I’m also the heroine and harem member, fucking no way in hell! Totally nonsense, never gonna happen...
—---
There was silence for a moment, everyone looking at him. What, never saw a godly handsome like me before? Anyway, enough with wasting time. "I need to go home; after taking winter clothes, my family would be worried. After seeing this sudden weather change." He said to the young woman standing in front of him, with her cherry red lips curved into a beautiful smile.
’’I see. I also want some clothes to let go together" Lalica knew what he was trying to do; what family she clearly knew he had no one in this world, except that suspicious system.
She came here just for him; how can she let him leave so easily? Now he was stuck with her for life; he would die with her or live with her; there was no in between.
Okay?" Loid shrugged; he had no idea why they were here. They should have gone home. If they need clothes or shelter. Aren’t they worried about their family? In the novel, their families were dead or not mentioned, so he had no idea.
Well, it doesn’t matter.
He turned toward the beautiful wavy red-haired woman, who still stood hugging his arms. When she was freeing him? Thought he liked it, but it’s dangerous; restricting his moments if suddenly some zombie jumped on him or the protagonist attacked, that would be a problem.
"Should we go now?" He asked softly.
Mira nodded. ’’ I know the... old stock of winter clothes.’’She walked, pulling him along with her.
He naturally walked with her. sigh. Currently, my Dao heart was too weak to push scared women away. He needed to become a cold giga chad and ignore those milk traps.
Before turning around and walking, he gave a last glance at Lalica; she was friendly and beautiful, easy to get along with, but let’s not make friends with her; the guy behind her isn’t friendly at all. He wasn’t sure if he could beat him or not.
The protagonist must be 5 ’9, and he was a gym freak, also had a special body. An unnecessary fight wasn’t a good choice.
A sharp, dark-eyed girl caught up with him, walking by his side.
Even though she was taller than him, well, she was taller than everyone here, probably around 6 feet. Damn system, you should have increased my height a little. He was just 5 ’7.
Anyway, let’s pick clothes and leave. He can pick food when they leave this area, not like they’re staying here forever.
Then he started smashing the heads of the Zombies. It was very easy and fun.
"Um... don’t create any sound; zombies find us with sound", He reminded them. Regenerator or Heroine just don’t create problems for me.
And you system, you fall asleep or what? Where is the reward that you were talking about...
—-------
Lalica glanced at the woman holding his arms against her melons.
It’s frustrating; she can’t remove her from him. He didn’t know her, so he was guarded against her; his system messages ruined her plan for making a good first impression. But he was still mostly thinking good about her.
So, she wasn’t going to do anything that would ruin her image. In truth, just from his thoughts, she knew he was totally her type, a perfect weirdo that matched her taste.
And this weirdo unknowingly made her like him.
She would slowly make him like her too...but how many people peeked in her future husband’s head... she needed to find out and shoo them somehow? She glanced at her friend? She can’t shoo her, but sharing wasn’t an option here.
Fucking frustrating; more like, he was a harem protagonist: if you were open books to others while carrying so many mysteries they clearly take interest in you, your inner voice would already have created a special bond and space in their life, and in this world-ending situation, he was a hope for survival... It looks like I can only make you fall hard for me so that you won’t even look at other women, or maybe I can simply use force, but let’s take that as a last resort; violence isn’t a solution when it can backfire.
First, she needs to change her image in his mind, make him see her as a person, not some heroine character and kick this protagonist guy away, and find a way to survive in this apocalypse of zombies and snowy winter,
Because if what he was thinking really became true, then this snowfall was not going to stop anytime soon; it appeared suddenly, magically; nothing was in the news, just like zombies.
