Chapter 663: Research Is Always the Best Excuse
Garion completely ignored Atlas and looked back at Mirena. "Can you explain it to me?"
Mirena stared at him for a few seconds before realization slowly appeared in her amber eyes.
"Oh, right. I forgot that you came from a Low Grade World."
She nodded to herself as if everything suddenly made sense. "Of course you wouldn’t know much about this."
Garion frowned slightly.
Mirena continued in the same professional tone, completely unaware that her words were starting to sound more insulting with every sentence.
"Now that I think about it, even though you’re powerful, you actually don’t know much about cosmic civilization at all."
Garion’s frown deepened.
Meanwhile, Atlas immediately burst out laughing inside his mind.
[Hahahaha! She’s roasting you!]
Garion’s eye twitched.
"Shut up."
Atlas only laughed harder.
Mirena noticed Garion’s expression and looked slightly confused, but she did not think much about it. "Since you’re already at the Star Realm, you should learn this properly."
She tapped the transparent screen beside her, causing the image of a glowing sphere to appear.
"Basically, a World Seed is created when a Star Realm cultivator begins fusing their mana core, life essence, foundation, soul energy, and the other major sources that support their existence."
Garion’s expression became more serious as he listened.
Mirena pointed at the glowing sphere. "Just as the name suggests, the World Seed is the foundation from which your future world will grow. It is what eventually allows a cultivator to create an Inner World and advance toward the Celestial Realm."
Garion nodded slowly. "I see."
Mirena continued, "You also don’t need to worry about losing your mana core or life source during the process. The World Seed replaces their functions. In fact, once properly formed, it becomes something far better because all those separate parts of your existence are brought together into a single foundation."
She folded her arms calmly. "To put it simply, don’t overthink it. Everything important eventually goes into the World Seed because that seed is the beginning of your future world."
Garion rubbed his chin as everything finally clicked into place. "I see."
Atlas immediately spoke in his mind again.
[See? I definitely taught you this.]
Garion ignored Atlas and immediately looked back at Mirena. "So, about the World Seed in the auction. If possible..."
Mirena quickly understood what he wanted to ask. "You want to know how it can be sold if a World Seed is part of a cultivator’s existence?"
Garion nodded. "Exactly."
Mirena tapped the transparent screen again, changing the image in front of her. "The World Seeds sold in auctions are usually more like beast cores."
Garion looked surprised. "So you mean Star Realm cultivators are basically treated like beasts when it comes to this?"
Mirena nodded without hesitation. "Yeah, of course. This is the real world, and World Seeds are far too valuable not to be sold. Once the cultivator is dead, someone is going to use what remains, so don’t think too much about it."
Garion’s eyes narrowed with interest. "Alright, then how can someone use one of these World Seeds?"
Mirena replied, "They have quite a lot of uses, so let me explain a few of them."
She raised one finger. "The most common method is absorption. A Star Realm cultivator can absorb part of another World Seed to accelerate the growth of their own seed, strengthen its foundation, and increase the chance of successfully evolving it into an Inner World."
Garion slowly nodded.
Mirena raised a second finger. "Another method is integration. Under the right conditions, a cultivator can use another World Seed to modify certain characteristics of their own."
Garion became even more interested. "Characteristics?"
Mirena nodded. "Energy nature, laws, environmental traits, special affinities, and sometimes even the future direction of the Inner World itself. After all, not every Inner World develops in the same way, especially when different races and cultivation paths are involved."
She paused for a moment before continuing, "Aside from that, there are also more extreme methods. Some cultivators directly replace their own World Seed with another one."
Garion raised an eyebrow. "You can do that?"
"Yes, although it’s risky," Mirena said calmly. "If the compatibility is bad, the cultivator may damage their foundation or even die. If it works, however, they can completely change the characteristics and future potential of their world."
She folded her arms. "Basically, World Seeds have a lot of uses: absorption, enhancement, acceleration, integration, replacement, research, refining materials, and more. It depends entirely on the cultivator and what they are trying to achieve."
Garion rubbed his chin, clearly becoming more interested with every word. "I see."
Atlas finally spoke again inside Garion’s mind.
[You don’t need to think too much about it. You don’t even need to buy one.]
Garion kept his eyes on Mirena’s floating screen.
"Why?"
Atlas answered casually.
[Because you don’t need a World Seed to become a god.]
Garion paused for a moment.
He already knew his path was different from that of ordinary cultivators.
His God Physique, divine body, and strange relationship with Divine Energy had never followed normal rules from the beginning.
"True."
Atlas immediately added,
[So spending money on someone else’s World Seed is probably unnecessary.]
Garion rubbed his chin, looking thoughtful.
"I know. I’m not planning to use it for myself."
Atlas became silent for a second.
[Then why are you interested?]
Garion’s eyes narrowed slightly with curiosity.
"Research."
Atlas paused.
Garion continued inside his mind.
"I’m curious. If a World Seed is really the foundation of a future world, I want to see how it’s structured."
Atlas remained quiet for a moment before finally replying.
[Fine.]
Garion almost smiled.
Atlas added,
[It’s your money, after all.]
Garion’s grin widened.
"Exactly."
Atlas immediately regretted saying that.
[Just don’t buy every strange thing you see.]
Garion completely ignored him and looked back at Mirena. "How much do World Seeds usually cost?"
Atlas immediately frowned the moment he heard that.
[You ignored me on purpose, didn’t you?]
Garion’s grin slowly widened.
