Chapter 78: Chapter 78 Be available
“Then when are you free? I’ll be available before I leave for my trip and as soon as I get back.”
“I...”
Alana’s breath caught in her throat.
Because while she was distracted by the phone call, the man had already moved in on her.
Her delicate body was curled up in the corner of the sofa, and the man had pressed himself directly against her, his powerful frame pressed tightly against hers.
His masculine scent was intense, enveloping her completely, leaving no corner untouched.
His impeccably handsome face was mere inches away.
His dark eyes were like thick, inky night, dangerous and mysterious.
His hot, scorching breath brushed against her delicate cheek, instantly sending a faint shiver through her body.
Alana had no idea what the man intended to do; her clear, lively eyes widened in nervous panic as she stared at him.
Her body tensed up completely.
She didn’t even have time to pay attention to Luca’s still talking on the phone.
“Alana?”
“Why aren’t you saying anything again?”
“Did something happen again? Are there cockroaches again?”
“No, Luca, I...”
Alana hadn’t expected the man to be so intense; before she knew it, his lips were pressed against hers again.
Not hearing her reply for a long time, Luca grew a little anxious. “Alana?”
“Lana, why aren’t you saying anything again! Are you sure you’re okay?”
“Did something happen again? Your breathing sounds off...”
Not only that, but he seemed to hear some strange noises...like there was someone there, he could hear gasping sounds and heavy breathing.
He wasn’t sure exactly what it was.
Beep...
The call was abruptly cut off.
Luca grew even more anxious. Why did the call suddenly get cut off?
What on earth was happening over there?
He couldn’t help but call back.
On the other end.
On the sofa.
Alana had just managed to hang up when the man completely wrapped himself around her. “Stephan!”
“You, you stop messing around!”
“Stop it!”
She pushed him away with all her might.
Stephan pinned the girl beneath him, leaning down to kiss her cheek. “Be a good girl. Let’s continue.”
“No, stop...” Alana couldn’t help but cry; tears streamed down her cheeks.
As Stephan leaned down to kiss her, his lips brushed against her salty, wet tears.
He paused for a moment and sat up slightly.
Her beautiful eyes were brimming with tears, wet and reddened.
She looked as if raindrops were falling from her face, a sight so pitiful it tugged at the heartstrings.
Stephan frowned, his heart aching at the sight.
He leaned down and kissed the corner of her eye. “Please stop crying, okay?”
Alana sobbed, her tears flowing even more freely. “Who gave you the right to bully me?”
Her whole body trembled as she wept.
Seeing the girl cry like this left him feeling utterly distraught.
He stood up from where he was lying with her, then picked up her clothes from the floor and covered her with them.
Then he held her close again and whispered soothingly.
“All right, you win. I won’t touch you anymore...for now.”
God, he was fucking hard!
This woman was so stubborn.
He could recalled the other women he had met always threw themselves at him. He was the one who didn’t want them at all.
Now, he had finally found someone he wanted, someone who was on his mind 24/7, someone who makes him throw away every sense of reasoning and logic, someone he always threw himself at.
But she was still resisting!
Fuck! He had the money and looks!
What more does she want?!
“Stop crying. I was wrong, okay?” He cooed
Alana said, sounding aggrieved, “You... you’ve been picking on me...”
Stephan raised his hand and gently wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes with his fingertip, asking deliberately, “How did I pick on you?”
Alana choked back her tears, her breathing uneven. “When... when I was on the phone, you kissed me and harassed me, isn’t that bullying? Just now, we almost got... caught by Luca.”
Stephan, however, looked completely unperturbed. “So what if he heard? That way, he won’t try to hit on you.”
“You!” Alana was so furious she didn’t want to speak to him, let alone look at him.
She couldn’t help but push him away. “Get out! I don’t want to see you!”
Seeing that she seemed genuinely upset, both angry and tearful, Stephan stared at her for a few seconds, seemingly realizing he’d gone a bit too far. After a moment of silence, he let go of her, stood up, and walked away.
Alana sniffled, feeling wronged, thinking the man had really left.
But to her surprise, he turned back.
“Here, this little white rabbit is for you. Don’t be mad anymore.”
A fluffy little white rabbit was simply thrust into her arms.
Alana instinctively glanced at the little white rabbit stuffed into her arms.
It was fluffy, white, and soft.
It had jet-black eyes, a red nose, two big white teeth peeking out, and was clutching a carrot in its paws.
It looked pretty cute.
Except for its long ears, which looked a bit wrinkled.
As if they’d been roughened up.
Alana sniffed her red nose and looked at him in confusion. “Where... where did you find this little white rabbit?”
Stephan shrugged. “I bought it.”
Alana seemed to remember something.
“You just said you had something to give me, is this it?”
Stephan raised an eyebrow. “That’s right. Do you like it?”
Alana blinked.
She did like it.
But thinking about what he’d just done to her, she couldn’t bring herself to be happy.
She angrily tossed the little white rabbit to the other side of the sofa. “It’s just a little white rabbit. You think that’s enough to make up for what you did earlier? You’re dreaming.”
Stephan sat back down on the sofa and watched her with a calm, composed air.
“So what do you want? Tell me, so I can make it up to you.”
Alana couldn’t help but glare at him. “Get out of my house right now!”
His eyes darkened.
She still rejected him so strongly, which left him feeling a bit down.
“I’ll leave, but you have to promise me you won’t have anything to do with that bastard named Luca this weekend.”
Alana eyed him.
“If you don’t agree, I’m staying put and not leaving.”
Hearing this, her face flushed red with anger.
Just then, her phone rang again.
It kept ringing nonstop.
Stephan glanced at Alana’s phone lying on the floor. The large letters flashing on the screen made him snort lightly.
“That bastard is calling again. Looks like he hasn’t had enough of the sound of us kissing just now.”
Alana shot the man a shy, reproachful glance, then picked up her phone from the floor.
“Stephan, I’m warning you, this time, you’re not allowed to play any tricks on me! Or else...”
Stephan raised an eyebrow. “Or else what?”
Alana bit her lip, hesitating for several seconds. “No, or else I’ll call the police and report you for trespassing.”
Stephan chuckled.
This little bunny must really be cornered, she was even threatening to call the police.
“Then turn him down.”
Alana pouted, then finally answered the call.
Luca’s anxious voice came through again.
He asked Alana what had just happened.
Alana reassured him, “Luca, I’m fine. My phone just ran out of battery and shut down on its own. I just plugged it in.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
Since she was lying, Alana felt a little guilty.
