Chapter 68: Chapter 68 Calm as ever
Vance moved quickly.
He made it there in less than half an hour.
He arrived at the door of Room 513 and knocked politely.
He waited anxiously for the person to open the door.
It must be a woman opening the door, right? After all, the CEO had told him to buy pink towels for women.
The door clicked open.
It was opened from the inside.
Vance’s eyes widened as he looked.
The moment the door opened.
His heart raced, his hands trembled.
Yet his wide eyes met Stephan’s dark, bottomless gaze.
He blinked. Stephan stood behind the door, his figure tall and slender. His upper body was bare, while his lower half seemed to be covered by a blanket, a pale pink one, which looked rather comical.
Yet, despite the comical scene, Vance dared not laugh.
Moreover, he keenly noticed that there appeared to be a scabbed wound on Stephan’s lip.
A scabbed cut in that spot certainly left one’s imagination running wild. Seeing Vance staring at his lips, Stephan seemed to realize something, and his thin lips curled up ever so slightly.
Vance, unable to suppress his curiosity, blurted out, “Mr. Hudson, your lips...”
Stephan expression remained impassive, and his tone was as calm as ever.
“Isn’t it obvious? Besides a woman’s teeth, who else could it be?”
Vance sucked in a sharp breath.
Sure enough, the CEO has a woman!
Last time, when the CEO had him investigate an old bald guy, he’d thought the CEO had some kind of kink, that he was into old bald guys.
Now it turns out the CEO’s tastes were perfectly normal. It was his own mind that was twisted.
“CEO, who is that woman...?”
“Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t. Did you bring the stuff?”
Vance cleared his throat and quickly handed over several bags with both hands.
“Here, here they are. It’s all here.”
Stephan gave a faint “Hmm” in response, then took the bags and bent down to inspect them. While the man was bent over inspecting the items, Vance’s curiosity got the better of him. He couldn’t help but tiptoe to see if there was anyone else in the house.
But the very next second, the man looked up and coldly began to shoo him away.
“Since you’ve brought everything, you can go now.”
“Okay, alright...”
Vance turned away, feeling quite disappointed that he hadn’t gotten to see the woman the CEO was secretly keeping in this golden nest.
Suddenly, the man spoke up, “Wait.”
Vance turned back excitedly. Could it be that the CEO had changed his mind and wanted him to...
Just as he turned, a pair of black slippers was shoved into his arms.
“Take these slippers and throw them in the trash.”
Vance frowned. “Huh?!”
These slippers look pretty clean, they were still wearable. Why throw them away?
What a waste!
But he certainly couldn’t ask the CEO what he was thinking. After seeing Vance off, Stephan closed the door and placed the new pair of black slippers Vance had brought, which fit him perfectly, in the spot where the black slippers he’d just thrown away had been.
The man raised an eyebrow in satisfaction. Hmm, looking at the shoe rack now, it doesn’t look so out of place anymore.
After her shower, Alana used a washcloth to wipe the dripping water off her body.
She could have used a towel, but that towel had been taken by that jerk, Stephan
The thought of him wrapping her pink towel around that area for hours, it might even have absorbed some moisture from him. Even if it were washed clean, she wouldn’t use it.
Besides, there was no way she’d use it.
Just thinking about it made her feel tensed.
She hurried out of the bathroom before the man woke up.
Alana got dressed, then carefully turned the doorknob, poked her head out, and immediately looked toward the bed.
She’d expected to see him lying there.
But to her surprise, the bed was completely empty.
She glanced around the rest of the room, but there was no one there.
Could it be that Stephan had already left?
But his dirty clothes were still in the bathroom.
Wrapped only in a pink towel, how could he have left? If someone saw him, they might accuse him of being a flasher.
Alana went out to check and discovered that her bedsheets were missing. She walked over to the bed, just as she was about to bend down to check.
Suddenly, a tall, slender figure appeared silently behind her.
A deep, magnetic voice rang out.
“Looking for me?”
Alana jumped in surprise and turned around without warning.
The man was standing right behind her, his dark, piercing eyes fixed on her.
His eyes were unfathomable, seeming to stir with complex emotions she couldn’t decipher. Facing the man’s piercing gaze, Alana couldn’t help but feel nervous. “Why...why would I? And why haven’t you
left yet?!”
Stephan stepped forward to stand before her, raising an eyebrow in a feigned ignorance.
“Tell me, what were you doing just now?”
The man’s intense presence closed in on her, making her feel extremely uneasy.
Moreover, that intense scent was very similar to the one lingering on her fingertips.
She bit her lip, naturally refusing to admit it, and turned her face slightly away, saying, “I wasn’t doing anything.”
He chuckled, choosing not to call her out on it.
If he called her out on it directly, she’d probably be so furious she’d be jumping up and down. Silence lingered for a moment.
Alana couldn’t help but turn back and ask, “It’s morning already. Why haven’t you left yet?” Suddenly, her gaze froze as she stared in shock at the spot beneath him.
“Wait...you... you actually used my sheets too...You used my towel to cover yourself, I’d have let it slide if you’d just thrown it in the trash, but why did you use my sheets too, why are you contaminating everything?!” Alana felt both embarrassed and furious. How could she ever feel at ease using this sheet again?
Every time she covered herself with it, she’d think of him using this very sheet to cover himself... The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.
Stephan laughed. “Contaminate? Isn’t that a bit too much?”
He found it amusing to see the girl’s cheeks puffed out in anger, her face all scowling. So what if the sheet had picked up a little of his scent?
Was she really going to get this upset over it?
“I accidentally got the towel dirty, so I threw it in the trash. I know you wouldn’t bring yourself to use it anymore.”
The man paused for a moment, pulled the bag from behind his back, and raised an eyebrow. “Here’s a brand-new towel I just bought. Consider this compensation.”
Alana looked at the bag being handed to her and paused for a moment. She instinctively took the bag and looked inside, it really was a towel. And it was pink, with a little bunny pattern.
They were clearly the same type as her old towels.
But the style and material were different.
The one she was holding now was clearly made of much better fabric; it felt soft and fluffy, just like cotton.
Plus, the tag was still attached, so it must be brand new.
Alana’s expression softened slightly, but not by much.
“What about my sheets?”
Stephan had already prepared his response and said calmly, “Leave the door open for me tonight, and I’ll bring you a new one myself.”
Alana couldn’t help but glare at him, seething with anger.
Leave the door open for him?!
No way!
Never in a million years!
If she ever let him stay over at her place again, she’d be a dog!
“I don’t need the sheets; I have spares.”
“Are you sure? I’ll get you a more expensive one.”
If she wanted, he’d even be willing to give her a new house.
After all, her place was run-down and tiny.
