Chapter 61: Chapter 61 About to explode
They were together for two hours?!
The words echoed over and over in his mind, making his head feel like it was about to explode.
Stephan struggled to control his emotions, a cold, enigmatic smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
“Your boyfriend knows you’re with another man?”
“Alana, don’t forget you’re a woman with a boyfriend. Why are you still fooling around with other men? Aren’t you afraid your boyfriend will find out?”
Alana blinked.
This sounded a bit ridiculous.
Her “boyfriend” hadn’t even asked anything, yet here he was, asking first.
And he was asking with such a self-righteous tone.
Alana took a deep breath and felt compelled to explain, “I’m meeting Lucas because I want to discuss a part-time job with him. He’s going on a business trip next week for a month, and he has two pets at home that need taking care of, so he asked me to look after them for a month. He’s paying me 10,000 dollars.”
Stephan furrowed his brow. “Is that all?”
“What else could it be?”
“After all, I have a boyfriend. Why would I be fooling around with other men?”
Alana fought the urge to roll her eyes and used his own words against him.
The tension in Stephan’s chest eased considerably.
All right, so she’d just met up with him to discuss a part-time job, she hadn’t done anything inappropriate with another man.
It seemed his worries were unfounded.
But when he recalled the lingering, adoring gaze that man had cast at Alana’s retreating figure just moments ago, he couldn’t shake the feeling that the man had ulterior motives and harbored ill intentions toward her.
He fixed his deep gaze on her, his thin lips parting slightly. “Keep your distance from him from now on.”
After all, she was so strikingly beautiful that she easily attracted men’s attention.
It was bad enough that she’d caught the eye of one man; there was no need to attract any more scum.
That man she called Luca was clearly no match for him, not even worth a single one of his fingers.
Seeing she hadn’t answered, the man furrowed his brow slightly. “Did you hear me?”
Alana was at a loss for words. He was getting more and more controlling, even to the point of dictating which men she could associate with.
But having known him for sometime now, she was well aware of his relentless nature, he wouldn’t give up until he got what he wanted, so she just gave him a perfunctory reply. “Got it.”
Stephan’s expression softened slightly.
Not bad, she was being obedient to him.
The frustration in his heart dissipated almost entirely.
Alana watched the man whose expression had suddenly changed. Just a moment ago, his face had been cold and tense.
Now he’d suddenly softened.
It was like watching a master of disguise, it felt strangely unsettling.
“You still haven’t told me, how did you get here? And when did you get here?”
Here he was, out of nowhere, it was kind of scary.
Plus, who knows how long he’s been here? He even knew that Luca had driven her home.
Stephan looked at the well-behaved girl in front of him. They hadn’t seen each other for over a week, and upon meeting again, he realized just how much he’d been missing her. He’d been trying so hard not to think about her.
But the moment he saw her, all that restraint went out the window.
This time, he didn’t want to hold back his longing for her anymore.
So, gazing intently at her, he spoke, “I missed you. I came to see you.”
Then, he watched as the girl in his arms blushed, her cheeks turning pink and then red before his very eyes.
Like a rose, she was exquisitely beautiful and utterly captivating.
The sight made the man feel a surge of desire.
His voice low and hoarse, he asked, “We haven’t seen each other for a week, did you miss me even a little?”
He wasn’t asking for much, even just a little would do.
Did she missed him at all?
Alana’s eyes widened in surprise.
It seemed, she really did miss him just a little. Wondering if he’d found someone new.
But with him showing up out of the blue like this, she couldn’t quite figure out what he was thinking or how she felt now.
She said, “No.”
Stephan narrowed his dark eyes. The girl pouted her rosy lips slightly, opening and closing them as she uttered a half-hearted,
“I don’t want to.”
It sounded strangely off-putting.
A hint of irritation mixed with a touch of disappointment swirled in his chest.
His voice dropped several notches. “Alana, I’ve noticed you have a pretty sharp tongue.”
“So what?”
The man clenched his teeth slightly. “You’re asking for a kiss!”
“I’m not.” Alana froze for a moment, then her face flushed.
This man, he spouts dirty talk at the drop of a hat.
He’s acting like a hooligan!
She realized they were still in a very intimate position, with his hands braced on either side of her shoulders, holding her fast.
His heavy breath enveloped her from all sides.
And they were still in the elevator, the doors were closed, but they hadn’t pressed a floor button yet, so someone could walk in at any moment.
She couldn’t help but reach out and push him away. “You...move over a little.”
Stephan didn’t move, and said stubbornly,
“Just say you missed me, and I’ll move.”
He’d traveled all this way just to see her, and he hadn’t gotten even the slightest bit of satisfaction, how could he possibly accept that?
Alana‘s face turned bright red. “Stephan!”
He was getting more and more outrageous.
The louder and angrier she yelled, the more he enjoyed it. It was the kind of secret, inner thrill.
After all, when she got angry, she was completely harmless, as soft and cute as a little kitten with its fur all ruffled.
She wasn’t intimidating at all; on the contrary, it just made him want to tease her even more.
Stephan pinched her delicate chin between his fingers, his eyes burning with intensity. “Are you going to tell me? If not, I’ll kiss you.”
That bastard, he was always acting a pervert the moment he shows up!
Although Alana was inwardly grumbling, she was afraid he might actually kiss her, so she had no choice but to say,
“I missed you...I missed you...”
