Chapter 175: Chapter 175 Caught on

Her eyes were glistening, their lustre almost overwhelming.

“I... I’m resting. What about you?”

Stephan curved his lips; the upturned corners of his mouth hinted at a touch of

mischief.

“Once I’ve washed the bathrobe, I’ll come back and rest with you.”

Alana blushed.

Just go already!

Don’t say another word!

Embarrassed, she immediately pulled the blanket over her face!

Stephan chuckled softly, feeling quite pleased.

He tugged at the blanket. “Sweetheart, don’t suffocate yourself.”

The girl under the covers grumbled and whined, ignoring him.

Stephan smiled again, picked up his bathrobe, and prepared to step out.

But then he seemed to remember that her dirty clothes, the ones he’d just helped her take off were still in the bathroom. Hmm, he’d just wash those too.

Stephan picked up the girl’s clothes and the bathrobe and went to the bathroom in the next room to wash them.

He didn’t want to disturb Alana’s rest.

Before washing them, he couldn’t resist rubbing the bathrobe she had worn; it still carried the soft, sweet scent of her body.

Thinking of how this bathrobe had once wrapped closely around her, her delicate skin in intimate contact with the soft fabric...

His Adam’s apple bobbed, and something inside him stirred once more.

He lowered his head and couldn’t help but take a deep breath.

As if he were trying to draw every last bit of her sweet scent into his lungs.

He wore a perverse look of satisfaction. His girlfriend really did smell so good~

Finally, he could breathe in her scent.

God only knows how he’d managed to endure the week she was away.

He’d sniffed every piece of clothing she’d left at his place, and they were all scentless now.

Of course, just sniffing the clothes wasn’t enough. In a little while, he’d go back, hold her close, bury his face in the crook of her neck, and inhale deeply once more.

The man’s lips curled slightly.

Suddenly, his fingertips paused, as if they’d brushed against something damp.

He took a closer look at the damp spot on the bathrobe, furrowing his brow. “Why was there so much of it?”

*********

While the man went to wash the clothes, Alana lay on the bed, hoping to rest.

But her stomach suddenly began to ache faintly, as if something were tugging at her insides. The sensation of heaviness was intense, making it impossible for her to rest properly.

She tossed and turned in bed for a while, then picked up her phone to watch videos, trying to distract herself.

But after watching a few funny videos and laughing out loud a couple of times, the pain got even worse.

In the end, it turned into a case of pure pain. Alana clutched her lower abdomen, sighing in pain.

The monthly ordeal.

Giving birth was painful enough for women, why does getting your period every month have to be so agonizing too?

Were women born to suffer?

She didn’t get it.

Alana simply couldn’t take it anymore. She tossed her phone aside and began rolling around on the bed.

Consequently, when Stephan walked into the bedroom, he saw Alana writhing on

the bed like a worm, clutching her stomach.

His eyes darkened as he carried a cup of freshly brewed brown sugar ginger tea and

hurried over.

The figure on the bed no longer had a rosy complexion; instead, she looked pale and weak.

She clutched her lower abdomen tightly with both hands, biting her red lips, it hurt so much.

Yet she was holding back from making a sound. Her eyes were rimmed with a hot, red flush from her struggle to hold back. She looked as fragile as a delicate porcelain doll.

It was heartbreaking.

Stephan quickly set down his bowl, sat on the bed, lifted the girl, whose face had turned pale with pain, and pulled her into his arms.

His warm, large hand quickly pressed against her lower abdomen.

“Does it hurt a lot?”

Alana didn’t want him to worry too much.

Clenching her teeth and catching her breath, she said, “I don’t know what’s wrong, but it hurts more than usual this time...”

“Maybe it’s because you’ve been so exhausted these past few days.”

“Don’t worry about me. Just let me lie down for a bit.”

She felt so miserable right now; she didn’t want him to see her looking so disheveled and pitiful.

Stephan frowned deeply; seeing her in such distress, his heart ached unbearably. “How could I possibly not take care of you when you’re like this? Here, I just made you some brown sugar ginger tea. Try a few sips and see if it helps. If that doesn’t help, I’ll take you to the hospital.”

Alana was taken aback. “You... you made me some brown sugar ginger tea?”

How did he know how to?

“Yeah, I just made it. It’s still a bit hot, let me blow on it for you.”

Stephan wrapped one arm around her slender waist, pressing his palm against her lower abdomen and gently massaging it to ease her pain.

Then he turned around and picked up the bowl sitting on the nightstand.

The bowl contained the freshly brewed brown sugar ginger tea, a reddish syrup with a few slices of ginger, red dates, and goji berries floating on top, steaming hot.

The man carefully blew on it, cooling it down considerably.

“It’s perfect now. You can drink it.”

Alana, cradled in the man’s arms, watched as he bent down to blow on the hot tea in

the bowl for her. The earnest look in his eyes made her eyes sting, and a mist formed in her gaze.

She had never drunk brown sugar ginger tea before; whenever she got her period and the pain struck, she would simply grit her teeth and endure it. She had asked him for tea today to try it because Eve had recommended it last time.

But when he got back, she had forgotten she asked for that.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to soothe her pain, but because she always didn’t have the energy to do anything.

When the pain became truly unbearable, she would just curl up in bed and toss and turn over and over again, she had no strength left to get out of bed and make herself a bowl of brown sugar ginger soup to warm her stomach.

Besides, since she’d never made it for herself, she didn’t keep those ingredients in her rented room.

Of course, no one ever prepared it for her either.

She just never expected that the first sip of brown sugar ginger tea she’d ever drink would be from Stephan.

Alana took the bowl the man handed her and drank several small sips.

True to its reputation as a tonic for energy and blood, after a few sips, her lower abdomen felt warm, and the pain had eased considerably.

Stephan kept watching her expression. “Are you feeling a little better?”

Alana nodded, biting her lip as she asked, “Did you make this for me?” Seeing that her complexion had improved considerably, he felt his anxiety ease considerably.

He nodded. “Yeah. It’s my first time making it, I hope it’s not too bad to drink?”

Hearing this, Alana’s eyes welled up with tears.

It was actually his first time making it.

She felt so lucky to be the first to taste something he’d made.

“It’s delicious. It’s the best brown sugar ginger tea I’ve ever had.”

Though he’d put in a bit too much ginger, it stung her throat a little.

But it wasn’t a big deal.

She sniffed, “It’s so good. Let me have a few more sips.”

Stephan’s lips curled into a smile. “Is it really that good? I’ll have a sip too.”

Alana’s breath caught, “Don’t drink it...”

But it was too late. Stephan took a small sip from the spot where she had just drunk. It was only a tiny sip, but a wave of throat-burning heat surged through him, shooting

straight to the top of his head.

Unaccustomed to this, the man immediately began coughing uncontrollably.

His handsome face turned crimson from the coughing.

He frowned, staring at the brown sugar ginger tea in his hand with obvious distaste.

“Why is it so spicy?”

Rarely seeing the man so flustered, Alana gave a soft cough and couldn’t help but

chuckle.

“Spicy? A little spice is good. It warms you up. I actually prefer spicy food.”

Stephan shot her a glance and called her out coolly, “You’re lying! You clearly prefer milder flavors. You’re not used to anything too spicy.”

Alana pursed her lips.

Oh no, he’s caught on.
