Chapter 167: Chapter 167 I miss you
After hanging up, she picked up the takeout container of congee and headed back to the hospital.
When she arrived at the hospital, her grandmother had just woken up from a nap.
Alana took the opportunity to feed her the porridge.
After feeding her, she boiled some water and wiped her grandmother’s body down.
The elderly woman was frail, and with her arm injured, Alana had to tend to her with the utmost care, afraid of accidentally bumping into her.
Alana tended to her with the utmost care throughout the entire process; no one helped her.
By the time she was done, she was covered in a sticky layer of sweat.
Her grandmother felt sorry for her. “Silly girl, it’s getting late. Go home, take a shower, and get some rest! You’ve been busy all day.”
Alana asked, “If I go home, who will take care of you tonight?”
Grandma replied earnestly, “I’ll just call your uncle or aunt to come over and keep me company. You shouldn’t be doing everything yourself, this is their job. If you ask me, you shouldn’t have come back at all. The moment you arrived, they felt
perfectly justified in asking you to take care of me. Look at it, it’s been so long, and not a single one of them has shown their face.”
“But they said Grandma was seriously injured and nearly died. I was so afraid something bad happened to you, how could I not come back to see you? Until I see with my own eyes that you’re okay, I just can’t rest easy. I can’t focus on my work either.”
“You...” Grandma was deeply moved by what she heard, and her heart felt warm.
That silly child, all the love I’ve poured into her hasn’t been in vain.
“Sweetie, go home first, take a shower, change your clothes, and get some rest. I’ll call your uncle and aunt right now.”
But when Grandma called them, they came up with all sorts of excuses about not having time.
Things like having to help the kids with homework or working late that night. It made Grandma so angry she almost let slip a curse word.
Alana had even taken a few days off work and traveled all this way to visit her.
Yet her own sons and daughters wouldn’t even take a day off; one after another, they just made excuses to deliberately avoid looking after her.
She’d raised a bunch of ungrateful brats, forget about having them look after her in her old age; they were more like parasites living off her.
Finally, Grandma took a hard line: “Fine, if you won’t come take care of me, then when I die, the house back home and all the savings I’ve kept for years, I’ll leave it all to Alana!”
As soon as those words were out, her aunts and uncles all rushed to volunteer to come and keep her company.
Once money was involved, they were all over her.
After all, if Grandma’s house back home were sold, it would fetch well over a hundred thousand dollars. And her years of savings, her savings could be much as well.
They couldn’t possibly let all that go to Alana, an outsider.
Once her aunts and uncles agreed to come take care of Grandma, Alana finally felt at ease enough to find a place to shower and rest.
She didn’t return to the house in her hometown but instead checked into a nearby hotel. She took a shower and changed into a clean set of clothes.
Overcome by exhaustion and drowsiness, she let her body sink deeply into the
bedding.
**********
While Alana was so exhausted, she fell asleep the moment her head hit the pillow, Stephan was having a rough time.
Without his sweet, soft girlfriend to warm the bed and let him hold and kiss her, he tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
His mind was filled with images of holding Alana in his arms, coaxing her, and tempting her to let him kiss her over and over again.
First her lips, then her face, followed by her neck, her chest...
He didn’t want to miss a single spot.
She was so fragrant and soft, her whole body smelling so sweet it nearly intoxicated him; he couldn’t get enough of her.
And the scent on her wasn’t that of artificial perfume; it was a natural body
fragrance, subtle, unique, and incredibly pleasant.
As he kissed her, she was shy and coy, pushing him away with her weak, limp hands. But soon, unable to resist, she wrapped her arms around his neck, soft and delicate.
Stephan’s breathing grew ragged; his eyes burned with a fiery red as he struggled to
restrain himself.
Finally, unable to bear it any longer, he got up and went to the closed balcony to take down the girl’s panties hanging there.
Finally, he lay back down on the bed, his long, slender fingers clenching her panties tightly as his chest rose and fell...
***********
Alana slept soundly at the hotel until dawn, feeling completely refreshed.
After a quick wash and a bit of freshening up, she picked up her phone and saw that Stephan had sent her a message first thing in the morning.
[Daily workout.]
He had dutifully sent a photo of his abs.
It made Alana blush bright red first thing in the morning.
With a photo like that, she couldn’t possibly show it to her grandmother. She’d wait until she got back and find a time to take a nice photo for him.
Alana replied.
[I just woke up.]
The man replied quickly, [Hmm, you didn’t sleep in my arms last night. Did you sleep
well?]
Alana didn’t catch the hidden meaning in his words and answered honestly.
[It was okay. I stayed at a hotel and slept soundly until morning.]
There were too many people back home, and it was all too lively; it wasn’t convenient for her to go back.
It was much quieter staying alone in a hotel. Stephan felt a pang of jealousy. So last night, he was the only one tossing and turning, unable to sleep.
Even jerking off to her panties didn’t help.
In the end, he had to go to the gym and worked out for over two hours.
He snorted lightly.
[I couldn’t sleep last night.]
Alana blinked innocently and asked, [Why?]
Stephan: [I couldn’t sleep without you holding me.”
Alana’s heart skipped a beat, and her cheeks flushed again.
Oh my, what kind of boyfriend starts being so cheeky first thing in the morning?
She teased him on purpose, [Is that for real?]
Stephan: [It’s true. If you don’t believe me, come back and keep an eye on me.]
Alana thought for a moment before replying, [I won’t be back for a few days. Grandma isn’t doing well; she needs to stay in the hospital for observation for about two weeks, so I’ll probably stay here to take care of her for a week more.]
Whether it was a week or not depended on whether the company approved her leave. Initially, she’d requested three days off, not including the weekend.
But given the current situation, she might need to extend it.
Stephan’s eyes darkened.
The sky was falling, and he’d have to spend a week alone in an empty room.
How was he supposed to handle this?
His fingers twitched as he reminded her, [We agreed on three times a week.]
Alana blushed again.
Ah!
How could he still be thinking about that?!
What kind of dirty thoughts were filling his head!
She gritted her teeth, [I’ll make it up to you when I get back!!!]
Stephan curved his lips, looking at the three exclamation marks the girl had sent.
He could imagine just how tensed and adorable her expression must be.
[Alright, I’ll keep that in mind.]
Alana puffed out her cheeks. [I’m going to grab breakfast. Talk to you later.]
Stephan: [Mm, remember to miss me.]
Alana: [What about you?]
Stephan: [I miss you already, every single moment.]
Alana’s ears were burning.
That old man sure knew how to flirt.
He was making her heart flutter with sweetness. Perhaps his passion had rubbed off on her, because she replied,
Alana: [I miss you, so, so much.]
Stephan looked at the girl’s reply, his heart burning.
What was that feeling?
It was as if, even though they were a million miles apart, they were still pressed tightly together, feeling each other’s warmth, that searing, burning sensation.
He wanted to hold her in his arms, to kiss her.
********
Alana arrived at the hospital and found her grandmother alone in the ward. Her aunt and uncle’s wife were nowhere to be found.
Alana held the freshly packed porridge and asked with a frown, “Grandma, where are Auntie and uncle’s wife?”
Her grandmother looked troubled. “They went back early this morning.”
“I told them to stay and take care of me so you could go back to work with peace of mind, but they ran off faster than rabbits.”
Alana pressed her lips together and said nothing.
“Grandma, you haven’t had breakfast yet, have you? I bought you some congee.”
