Chapter 123: Chapter 123 The wrong idea

Alana glared at him.

Was he just saying one thing and doing another?

Stephan shrugged.

It wasn’t like he was the one who started this, was it?

It was this fucking Luca!

Luca was about to pull out his phone to call the police, but Alana stopped him.

Seeing Alana standing in front of Stephan, Lucas couldn’t help but frown. “Lana, are you seriously taking his side? He’s clearly forcing you to be with him, how can you still be defending him?”

“Luca, he... he isn’t forcing me...” Alana’s cheeks flushed red; she didn’t know how to explain.

Stephan had indeed being coming on strong, and she didn’t exactly hate his advances so she couldn’t call it force. But she had to speak up for him and make excuses. What on earth was she even thinking?!

Oh gosh, she just didn’t know what she was doing!

Little did she know that when the man behind her heard Alana say he didn’t force her, the corners of his mouth couldn’t help but turn up.

Just a short while ago, when he treated her that way, she said he was bullying or taking advantage of her. Now she’s suddenly changed her tune and says he wasn’t.

What does that tell everyone?

Doesn’t it just mean she’s come to like the way he “picks on” her?

Luca couldn’t believe it. “What? After everything he did to you, that doesn’t count as force?”

“I...I...” Alana was frantic inside.

You big dummy, just explain it already!

Why couldn’t she explain it?!

Aaaargh!

But how could she possibly explain such a question?!

Stephan could tell the girl was getting flustered. He reached out with his large hand and wrapped it around her slender waist.

He pulled her into his arms, curled his lips into a smile, and spoke casually. “It’s not really force. Because my sweet little Lana likes the way I treat her.”

Alana closed her eyes.

Her heart, which had been hanging in suspense, was about to sink again.

Because his answer was even more embarrassing.

Luca stared, dumbfounded, at the two of them, now embraced once more.

He looked at Stephan, who remained as arrogant as ever, and Alana, who had

been forcefully pulled into his embrace.

His lips trembled, moving back and forth as if he wanted to say something, but he didn’t know what to say.

He stammered for a long while.

“You...you two...”

Stephan raised an eyebrow and curled his lips in a slow, smug smile. “As you can see,

she’s with me now, this pervert.”

Alana gasped.

Was he really admitting he was a pervert?!

Luca took a step back, stunned by the news.

What the hell?!

This was completely different from what he’d been told!

Didn’t Eve say that Alana was being forced into a relationship with this man

and needed him to save her?

So she’s been forced to...fall in love with him?!

Luca couldn’t help but look at Alana. “Lana, tell me honestly, is this

true? He hasn’t got something on you, has he? Is he forcing you to say this?”

Alana didn’t really want to answer right now; she even wished the ground would

swallow her up.

She looked left and right, where was the hole in the ground?

Please, just let a hole appear out of nowhere so she could crawl into it.

This was so humiliating.

As someone with severe social anxiety, she simply couldn’t handle this.

But Luca was clearly waiting for her answer.

Stephan had deliberately dug a hole and left it open, now amusedly waiting to see her dig herself into it.

This was too much!

How despicable!

He does this time and time again, she absolutely cannot let him get away with it!

Alana reached out, prying the man’s large hand off her slender waist, then deliberately moved an inch away from him.

She spoke earnestly, “Luca, don’t listen to his nonsense. We haven’t even started dating yet.”

Stephan watched the girl’s earnest explanation and gave a soft snort.

Little white rabbit, you’re such a naughty girl.

To call him out so brazenly.

But it was better that she was naughty, he loves it when she acts up in front of him.

It was fun to tease her.

Luca froze. “So you two aren’t together yet? Then what are you two doing here...”

Alana’s face flushed slightly. “He...is trying to win me over.”

She paused, then added through gritted teeth.

“It’s that kind of relentless pursuit, the kind you just can’t shake off.”

Stephan raised an eyebrow, looking at her with amusement.

He thought he was shameless enough as it was, how come this little white rabbit was

starting to take a page from his book and become shameless too?

Although, what she said was true.

But hearing it come out of her pink, cherry-red lips just made him laugh.

So funny he wanted to kiss her.

Upon hearing this, Luca glanced at Stephan with a smirk, as if he’d won a

battle. “So he’s just a suitor! Just a suitor, how dare you claim to be Lana’s boyfriend?I’ve seen shameless people before, but I’ve never seen anyone as shameless as you!”

Alana nodded, thinking Luca’s retort was spot on!

Stephan spoke slowly, looking as if he took pride in his shamelessness rather than

being ashamed of it.

“You have to be shameless to kiss the woman you like. Can you do that?”

Luca froze.

That single sentence knocked him off his feet.

Not to be outdone, he couldn’t help but look at Alana. “Lana, I had the delivery guy send you a bouquet of roses this morning. Did you get it?”

“Huh?” Alana was stunned. So that bouquet she’d thrown away was actually from Luca?

Luca gazed at the girl’s stunning face, which was etched with sheer astonishment, and asked nervously, “I didn’t know what kind of flowers you liked, so I sent you red roses. Do you...like them?”

Before Alana could answer, Stephan spoke up for her, “She loves them.”

Hearing this, Luca was just about to beam with joy.

The next second, he was floored by another remark from the man.

“She loved them so much she threw it straight into the trash.”

Luca’s eyes dilated.

Alana froze again for the umpteenth time this evening.

No way!

She didn’t throw the roses away, he did, okay?!

She had never seen anyone shift the blame so skillfully!

She’d been through the wringer, but this really opened her eyes!

Alana couldn’t help but glare at the jerk, then had to cover for him. “Luca, I’m sorry. I didn’t know that bouquet was from you. I saw the roses didn’t have a name on them, so I thought some stalker had just sent them randomly, so I... threw them in the trash. I hope you don’t hold it against me.”

Stephan’s lips curled up slightly.

Such a good girl, she even knows to speak up for him.

Why does his little white rabbit always look out for him like this?

He really wanted to reward her with a kiss.

Luca felt an indescribable sadness; he had miscalculated.

He’d thought sending flowers to Alana would be a nice surprise for her. But unexpectedly, she took it as harassment.

He forced a smile. “It’s okay. Next time I send you flowers, I’ll remember to sign my name.”

Alana looked at Luca and said earnestly, “Luca, thank you for sending me flowers. But I can’t accept your flowers next time as well.”

Luca couldn’t help but ask, “Why?”

Alana replied, “I don’t want you to get the wrong idea.”

She knew exactly what those roses represented and his thoughts behind them.

If she accepted his flowers, wouldn’t that mean she was accepting his feelings?
