Chapter 112: Chapter 112 Plotting something
“Hm?” Stephan pressed on. He suddenly lunged forward.
Alana gasped, nearly giving in.
“I...I...”
Just as she was about to agree to his terms, her phone suddenly rang.
Alana snapped back to her senses and immediately reached for her phone.
Stephan’s eyes turned cold. “Don’t answer it!”
But it was too late; Alana had already picked up the call.
Stephan was so furious he immediately lowered his head and bit down on her rounded shoulder.
“Ah!” The moment the call connected, she couldn’t help but cry out.
No sooner had she cried out than Eve’s panicked, shrill voice came through the phone. “Lana, what’s wrong with you?!”
“You’re not in danger, are you?! Tell me where you are, and I’ll come rescue you right now with a forty-foot-long sword!”
Eve had just heard from Luca that Alana had been carried off by a man.
That man even claimed to be Alana’s boyfriend!
What a joke, she was Alana’s best friend; how could she not know if Alana had a boyfriend?!
So this guy must be a scammer!
Targeting her delicate, soft, and clueless best friend!
So without a second thought, she called Alana. But as soon as she dialed, she heard Alana’s screams.
Clearly, she was being subjected to some unimaginable, brutal abuse.
“Lana, tell me where you are! Wait there, I’m coming to save you! You’ll be fine!”
“You scumbag who’s holding my best friend hostage, I’m warning you don’t lay a finger on her! Or I’ll call the police right now and have them arrest you!”
“If the police take too long, I’ll tell my boyfriend to send a bunch of gangsters to beat you to a pulp!”
Stephan grimaced.
Because of Eve’s words, he held back from making a move on Alana for the moment. It wasn’t out of fear, but because he found women’s tantrums incredibly annoying.
Alana snapped back to her senses and hurriedly said, “Eve, you, you don’t need to get so worked up. I’m fine...”
Eve couldn’t help but press further, “You’re really okay?! If you’re fine, why did you scream so loudly just now?! Is there something you’re not telling me? Just say the word!”
Alana bit her lip, too embarrassed to be honest. “I, I’m really fine. Don’t worry...”
Eve frowned: “I don’t believe you. Luca just called me and said you were snatched away by some burly man. Who exactly is that burly man? Did he do anything inappropriate to you?!”
Alana’s cheeks flushed slightly as she said, somewhat guiltily, “Well... that burly guy, he’s just the regular male friend I told you about, someone I just met. It’s not... it’s not dangerous...”
“What do you mean, a ‘regular male friend’? If he’s such a ‘regular male friend,’ why did he force a kiss on you right in front of Luca?! According to Luca, he was forced to watch that man kiss you for over five minutes, kissing, sucking, and nibbling—until your lips were swollen. I...I...I mean, isn’t that going too far?”
Was this something an ‘ordinary male friend’ would do?!
It’s not just Eve who didn’t believe it, even if you told a random dog walking by, it wouldn’t believe it!
When Alana heard this, her cheeks turned bright red.
No, no way?!
Luca, did you actually tell Eve about this too?!
Ah!
How could she possibly show her face in public now?
Alana couldn’t help but glare at the culprit, it was all his fault!
If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have made such a fool of herself in front of her best friend.
It was bad enough to lose face in front of Luca just now, but now this...
Stephan, however, remained completely unfazed by Alana’s glare.
Let her glare all she wants.
He didn’t regret what he’d just done anyway.
If he could do it all over again, he might even go further.
Eve was frantic. “Hurry up and tell me, what exactly is your relationship with that man? Is he a danger to you?!”
Her sweet, gentle best friend had been forcefully kissed by a man, Eve simply couldn’t sit still! Who knew if that man was good or bad?!
Wasn’t he going to swindle her best friend out of everything she had?!
Alana quickly pushed the man off her and sat up. “Eve, don’t worry. Let me explain...”
Stephan, having been pushed away, looked slightly annoyed, but he kept his cool and didn’t act out.
After all, he knew exactly who he could mess with and who he needed to behave around.
Eve seized the opportunity to speak up,
“Fine, but you have to show up in front of me right now. I’ll listen to your explanation then, it’s hard to talk over the phone and believe you! I need to make sure you’re safe. Who knows if you’re being threatened right now and forced to say things against your will!”
Faced with her best friend’s doubts, Alana naturally agreed, “Okay. I’ll meet you in a bit.”
Upon hearing this, Stephan couldn’t help but furrow his brow.
She hadn’t even agreed to let him take the lead yet, and she was already planning to leave?
Did she ask for his permission?
“That’s good.”
Eve decisively gave the address of a coffee shop.
Alana hung up the phone and glanced at Stephan. “My best friend is looking for me, so I have to go.”
Stephan gritted his teeth and glared at her in frustration. “And then? The promise you made to me?!”
Alana had regained her composure and blinked her beautiful eyes. “It’s 7:30 p.m. now. There are still four and a half hours left until the third day we agreed on. I’ll give you my answer after I meet with my best friend.”
Hmm, she probably couldn’t keep this from her best friend, so she’d meet up with her and ask for some advice while she was at it.
The man gritted his teeth. “Alana!”
Alana said with a straight face, “Mr. Hudson, I think I’d prefer a man who respects me.”
That single sentence silenced Stephan, completely.
Just a moment ago, his tone had been fierce, but now, in an instant, it softened.
He looked like the perfect, obedient, and respectful boyfriend.
“Alright, where’s the café you’re meeting your friend at? I’ll drive you there.”
The man’s sudden change in demeanor left Alana feeling uneasy.
She couldn’t shake the feeling that his smile was like hiding a knife, that he was secretly plotting something.
