Chapter 109: Chapter 109 Heavy and cold
Without hesitation, he yanked his arm free from Darla’s grip, narrowed his dark eyes, and stared at her coldly. “What couple?! Are you talking about them, or us?”
The man’s hand suddenly withdrew, leaving Darla feeling a slight pang of disappointment, but she still smiled. “Does it make any difference?”
Stephan’s tone was heavy and cold. “It does. Because, whether it’s the two of them or the two of us, neither will ever become a couple.”
Darla froze, not understanding what he meant.
But before she could ask, Stephan had already turned and walked away.
He was heading in the exact direction Alana and Luca had just left.
Meanwhile, Once Luca and Alana had walked a good distance away, he couldn’t help but mutter to himself.
“I don’t know what’s going on, but my dog Ollie is usually pretty well-behaved, he doesn’t just go around scaring strangers. Then why did he suddenly charge over just now and bark at that young couple? He clearly didn’t even know them.”
Alana had something on her mind and didn’t respond right away.
Her mind was still filled with the image of Stephan being intimate with another woman just moments ago.
Luca sensed something was off with her and asked with concern, “What’s wrong? It feels like you’ve suddenly become a bit down.”
Alana froze.
Was she not happy?
What exactly was making her unhappy?
And why would she be unhappy?
“No, Luca, you’re overthinking it.”
Luca smiled and didn’t press the matter.
After all, everyone had their own worries.
He had his own, too.
He asked tentatively, “Lana, what do you think of me as a person?”
Alana instinctively gave him the “nice guy” label. “Luca, you’re a really nice person.”
Luca grimaced.
Why did that "nice guy" label sound so insincere?
Gazing at the serene moonlight, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
Curious about his behavior, Alana looked at him.
Luca met her gaze, cleared his throat, and finally mustered the courage to say, “Um,
Lana, what I mean is... what do you think of me? Do you think I’d be a good fit for a romantic relationship with you?”
After saying this, he couldn’t help but feel nervous, his eyes filled with both anticipation and trepidation as he looked at Alana.
Alana blinked, rapidly.
So sudden?!
Hadn’t she asked Eve to tell him she wasn’t interested in him romantically?
What?
Did Eve not tell him?
But before she could refuse, a deep, icy voice came from behind them.
“Hah, I never would’ve guessed. These days, there are still people so desperate they’d actually volunteer to be the other man!”
Alana and Luca heard the deep, mocking voice and turned around in unison. There, standing about two meters away from them, was a man.
His features were striking, his bone structure impeccable.
His jet-black eyes were deep and aloof.
He was still wearing his black suit, exuding an air of cool detachment and noble elegance. The moment Alana saw the man, her heart began to race. How did he end up here?
Wasn’t he just getting pretty cozy with another woman?
Luca froze upon hearing this.
Looking at the man who had suddenly appeared, he couldn’t help but wonder:
“The other man? What are you talking about?”
Stephan shot Alana a cold glance. “What? You didn’t tell him you have a boyfriend?”
Alana, suddenly called out, froze.
Luca was stunned. He looked at Alana in disbelief. “Lana, you have a boyfriend?”
Clearly, before he left on his business trip, Eve had told him that Alana didn’t have a boyfriend, that she was single at the moment.
If he had feelings for Alana, he’d better make his move quickly, after all, once this
opportunity was gone, it wouldn’t come back.
But he’d only been away on a business trip for a few days, and now that he was back, she had a boyfriend?
The sky was suddenly falling!
Who moved so fast?
Snatching up a woman he had been eying!
Luca couldn’t help but ask, “Who’s your boyfriend?”
Alana gave an awkward smile. “I...”
Before she could finish her sentence, the man who had been standing motionless moments ago suddenly walked toward her and wrapped his long fingers around her slender waist.
Stephan pulled the girl tightly into his arms, then lowered his gaze, a doting smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
“What’s the matter? Won’t you properly introduce me, your boyfriend, to him?”
Alana’s eyes widened.
Luca gasped.
He was completely baffled!
What on earth was going on?
The plot suddenly took a bizarre turn.
Alana glared at the man beside her in disbelief. “You...what on earth are you talking about?”
He shouldn’t go spreading rumors about her. As for her and him, there was not even a hint of a relationship yet!
Where did this “boyfriend-girlfriend” relationship come from?!
Stephan suddenly pinched the soft flesh on her slender waist, a smirk playing on his lips. “Sweetheart, why are you still acting so distant with me at a time like this, hmm?”
Alana’s body shuddered at the pinch, and her legs suddenly went weak.
The spot he was pinching happened to be her sensitive spot.
Even a single touch was too much to bear. The girl instantly leaned a bit into his arms.
Stephan raised his gaze, his eyes sweeping indifferently over Luca, who was too stunned to speak.
His deep voice was laced with intense possessiveness and hostility.
“Sorry, my girlfriend is just really shy. Please don’t take it the wrong way.”
It took Luca a long while to come to terms with the sudden turn of events.
Gritting his teeth, he asked, “That man who spoke on the phone that night, was that you?”
Stephan raised an eyebrow and admitted it quite openly, “It was me. I’m impressed you still remember my voice.”
Gary’s teeth clenched.
He found it hard to believe and couldn’t help but look at Alana. “Lana, is he really... your boyfriend? Didn’t you tell Eve that you and he... were just ordinary friends?”
“I, him and I...”
Alana was forced to lean against the man, too embarrassed to find the words.
Stephan spoke calmly, “It seems you still don’t believe me.”
He lowered his gaze slightly, staring at the person in his arms. A smile played at the corners of his mouth, and his hoarse voice was dangerous and rich. “Be a good girl. Let’s show him exactly what we’re capable of...”
Alana, confused, looked up at him.
What does that mean?
Suddenly, the man leaned down and captured her rosy lips in a kiss.
Alana’s almond-shaped eyes widened instantly, and she became flustered and at a loss. He...he was such a rascal!
How could he kiss her in front of other people?!
Alana instinctively tilted her head back, but he cupped the back of her head, deepening the kiss.
Her eyelashes trembled with shyness and shame. When she opened her eyes slightly, she met the man’s dark, deep gaze, so profound it was almost frightening, radiating an intense and domineering sense of possession.
Her body trembled as her hands weakly pressed against his solid chest, leaving her no choice but to let him have his way.
Standing before them, Luca exclaimed, “What?!”
What the hell was going on?
