Chapter 106: Chapter 106 Regular friend

Eve rolled her eyes and grumbled, “We’re as close as sisters who went to school together and even shared a bed, stop playing games with me!”

Alana sighed helplessly. “I already told you, he’s just a regular friend.”

Eve leaned in close to her, blinking her curious, gossip-hungry eyes. “Really... just a regular friend? If he were just a regular friend, would he say to Luca, ‘I’m her man’?”

“Alana, you haven’t been sneaking around with some random guy behind my back, have you?”

Alana felt guilty. “No, don’t read too much into it.”

“I’m not overthinking it. It’s just that the dress you’re wearing, it’s the new LV collection, retailing for over 80,000 dollars.

You’re a recent college graduate just starting out in the workforce, struggling to make ends meet, and you don’t even have a boyfriend, where did you get the money to buy such an expensive dress?”

Alana looked down.

The dress she was wearing had been bought for her by Stephan.

The color was similar to her old, torn blue dress, but the quality was worlds apart. Her old one was bought on a thrift for just about fifty dollars.

But the one Stephan had bought for her cost over 80,000 dollars.

She felt a mix of emotions.

Every time he bought her such expensive things, she couldn’t help but feel she owed him so, so much.

As if it were a debt she could never repay. Alana glanced at Eve, unsure how to explain.

Eve couldn’t help but ask, “Lana, since you have no plans to date anyone, you aren’t being kept by an older man, are you? We don’t do that kind of degenerate stuff!”

“If you need money, just tell me, I’ll lend it to you!”

Alana immediately explained, “No, no, I’m not being kept by an older man.”

“Then what’s the story with this dress?”

Alana said awkwardly, “Well, it’s just... a friend of mine bought it for me. He saw that I’d torn my dress, so he kindly bought me a new one.”

Eve nodded, her expression full of meaning.

“Oh, your friend’s pretty nice to you. He’s not interested in you, is he? Trying to hit on you?”

Alana felt a flush of embarrassment, her best friend was spot-on with every guess.

If she kept guessing, she’d end up knowing every detail about her underwear.

Eve couldn’t resist pinching Alana’s nose and lectured her earnestly, “Listen up, Lana. If a guy tries to pursue you, don’t you dare get together with him just because he offers a few perks, don’t be so naive as to let him manipulate you! Some men are really bad news. You have to vet them carefully and not agree to anything too easily.”

After all, Alana wasn’t like her, she was clear-headed and only looked at money when it came to dating.

If she ever ran into an unreliable guy who’d take advantage of her emotions and her body, Alana would be in for a world of trouble.

Alana quickly nodded, changing the subject. “Uh-huh, I know. It’s still early. Should we go out for a walk with the cat and dog?”

Eve had no objections. “Sure, I’ll go with you.”

After walking the cat and dog, it was almost nine o’clock.

As Alana passed by Stephan’s place, she took a quick look, the lights in his house were off.

Hasn’t he come back yet?

Strange.

Whether he comes back or not is none of her business, why was she worrying about it so much?

After walking the cat and dog, Alana headed home.

Eve drove her to the entrance of the complex before leaving.

Alana returned to her rented apartment. Even though it had only been a day since she’d left, why did it feel like a lifetime had passed?

How strange.

She locked the door from the inside and went to change into her slippers.

Suddenly, as if she’d noticed something, she looked puzzled. “Hmm, where are those black slippers?”

Could it be...

*********

Stephan had finished his business dinner, but since he’d had a few drinks, he couldn’t drive. So he called a driver to take him home.

It was already past nine o’clock, though.

So he assumed Alana must have gone home already.

Seeing that Luca’s apartment was pitch-black, he actually felt a little disappointed.

He wish he hadn’t gone home.

He should have just gone straight to her place.

Stephan returned to the bedroom and headed to the bathroom to take a shower.

However, as he entered the bathroom, he noticed the skirt and underwear she’d taken off lying in the laundry basket.

Stephan raised an eyebrow. “Tsk, that woman’s clothes still haven’t been washed.”

*********

Meanwhile.

Alana had just stepped out of the shower when, suddenly, it seemed to occur to her.

The clothes she’d changed out of last night in Stephan’s bedroom hadn’t been packed up yet.

She had intended to wash and hang them up after her shower.

But she had completely forgotten about them after he’d kept her so busy.

She’d left in such a hurry this morning that she’d forgotten about them too.

She wondered if he saw them when he got back.

Just as she was thinking about it, the phone sitting on the bed suddenly lit up.

Alana hurried over, picked up the phone, and tapped to open it.

It was a photo.

The moment she saw the photo, her cheeks flushed instantly.

The photo showed a laundry tub.

Her underwear was sitting inside, soaked in a sea of suds.

A man’s long, clean hand was in the suds, kneading them.

The thought that her intimate wear was currently being freely touched and repeatedly kneaded by a man made Alana feel unbearably ashamed, her whole body burning with heat.

Alana:[Stephan, what are you doing? Stop it right now!]

The man’s reply was cruel.

Stephan:[I won’t stop. Washing my future girlfriend’s underwear is only natural.]

[Besides, you specifically left the unwashed clothes for me, wasn’t that a hint for me to wash them for you?]

Her face flushed even more.

Alana:[No! I didn’t leave them for you. I just forgot]

Stephan:[Are you sure you forgot, and not that you did it on purpose?]

Alana:[Don’t read too much into it. I just forgot!]

Stephan:[Hmm, I don’t believe you.]

Alana was secretly going crazy because she couldn’t do a thing about him.

Stephan asked again.

Stephan: Did you wash the dirty clothes I left at your place last time?

Alana gritted her teeth.

Alana: No, I threw them all in the trash.

Stephan: Are you sure? That outfit of mine is worth millions.

Alana’s breath caught in her throat. That expensive?!

Why doesn’t he just wear gold instead?!

Fearing he might demand compensation, she quickly said.

Alana: I didn’t throw them away! I washed

them and put them away!

In her panic, she had actually blurted out the truth.

For a split second, she really wanted to beat that disobedient hand to death.

Stephan saw this and couldn’t help but smile.

He knew she couldn’t bear to part with his clothes like that.

Not only was she reluctant to throw it away, but she’d even washed it for him.

He remembered that his own underwear was left there too.

A mischievous thought crossed his mind, and he asked.

Stephan: Did you wash my underwear too?

Alana blushed deeply.

Recalling a certain night, she had been crouched in the bathroom, washing the man’s black underwear by hand.

That overwhelming sense of shame came flooding back.

Alana: No, they’re gone!

Stephan: Those underwear cost 50,000.
