Chapter 171: World Sever
At the beginning, Sylvara had wanted to intervene right when the beast had aimed for the first of those adventurers.....
But she caught a look from Caleb.... And that look told her to stay down, even without her hearing him speak.
How he had been able to easily follow the beast’s moves as she did came as no small shock to Sylvara, but in her contemplation of whether to listen to him and hold back or save that adventurer....
The deed was already done, and the young man’s head was already separated from his body.
Though Sylvara felt a little guilty for allowing this to happen when she had the power to stop it.....
Beyond herself, she cared more about what Caleb thought.
While all the knights were looking on in both awe and horror at the hero’s strength, with them strategically pushing back the giant wolf when any of them knights would have long been turned to paste..... Sylvara was busy looking at Caleb.
That’s when Sylvara saw it.....Just a little, a barely noticeable curve on the corner of Caleb’s lips as he watched the carnage unfolding before him from on top of his horse.
’He’s smiling?’
Sylvara had thought, as she began to understand the reason why he did not want her to intervene when the beast had first attacked.....
’He’s....he’s enjoying this!’
A lot of things were different with Caleb from the rest of the heroes, and the more Sylvara thought she knew, the more she realized she didn’t.

And the look he currently had on him was one of a man who relished in carnage, such as the one before them...
But rather than Sylvara finding this side to him, disturbing..... She simply grew more curious about this person, with a burning need to understand.
Sylvara, just like Caleb, relaxed into watching the carnage unfold.
The heroes were doing impressively well at some point, but she knew disaster was soon to follow.
Though they were landing multiple attacks, it only served to enrage the beast even more, and left just some minor, irritating wounds on it...
Still, if their attacks had gone on for at least an extra thirty minutes, they might have probably brought down the beast.....
But it had just been a little over a minute since they had begun attacking, and most were already bruised, injured, and running out of mana as they struggled to get all their strategic attacks in.
Then disaster struck when the beast used its skill, channeled from the horn on its head into a sonic boom that cleared the area of all the attacking heroes, hitting them with enough force to cause severe internal wounds in addition to all the surface wounds they had sustained from barely dodging the beast’s several attacks.
Sylvara saw the heroes scattered through the forest, and she felt it was time to make a move before one of them was actually brought down for good.....
But as she attempted to move...
She again got that look from Caleb, so she remained exactly where she was, and then she saw him give what looked like a smile in her direction before turning away.

This caused Sylvara to blush, yet still wonder what that quick smile meant. Was he pleased that she had listened to him?.... Or was he having similar complicated feelings about her?.... She would rather prefer the latter.
Sylavara observed that, though the beast was a little intelligent, it wasn’t on the level of true beasts with formed selves, personalities, and special bloodlines...
However, its sonic skill was quite powerful, and too much for these fledgling heroes to handle.
Like a creature of habit, as soon as the heroes were all blown away, the giant wolf charged straight ahead for another of the adventurers.....
This time, it was the gorgeous young lady with long blond hair who barely had time to process what had just happened before the massive gaping maw of the giant wolf came closing in on her as she sat there frozen on the ground in shock.
The gathered knights and Urasmus looked on in horror as the wolf’s maws clamped down on the young lady...
But just as fast, a blurry visage of someone shot into the air, brandishing a glowing Katana, surging with the most pure and powerful mana they had ever felt....
And instinctively, they all felt a suppression from this sudden power, including the wolf, which suddenly turned its gaze up to see Andrew descending with his entire form glowing like liquid silver mana, emitting such sharp cutting intent, enough to cause the beast to shiver as he cleaved down while uttering....
"Divine skill..... World Sever!"
The giant wolf instinctively made to get out of the way of the strike using its ultimate speed....
But the strike was way too fast and cleaved straight at his back as it was blown back several feet from the shockwave of the attack, with a large open wound now on its back.

The beast growled loudly as it experienced its first severe injury since this battle began.
The force of Andrew’s attack did not relent and went on to create a massive, several feet long and deep crater on the ground where the wolf had been, blowing even the young adventurer lady backward through the air.
Luckily, she was caught by Brodyy, who, amongst the other collapsed heroes, could still barely stand on his feet.
As the attack settled, Andrew, bloodied and looking miserable, was seen passed out in the middle of the crater he had created....
His veins were visibly bulging with his power raging through him like a writhing serpent, causing the young man to strain painfully on the ground.... On the verge of death.
"Andrew!"
Lilly yelled as she sprinted from where she was previously healing Jacob over to him, as she began administering her skill.
Andrew had just used his divine skill when he didn’t have enough mana to channel that type of power, and his body wasn’t strong enough for it yet.
Usually, heroes had to reach the peak of grandmaster before freely using their divine abilities.....But in his desperation, Andrew had just drawn on that power, even though it wasn’t fully unleashed; it was unleashed enough to put him in a state close to death.
Yet....though wounded and bleeding, the giant wolf was still standing, and ready to pounce once more.
But it seemed its luck was about to run out, as Zorat turned a little to Sylvara before giving a small nod at her. Nodding back.....
Sylvara Vanished.
