Chapter 123: CH. 123 | Yunlan Sect
Lin Tian walked out of the main sect hall and looked over his disciples in the front courtyard. Just before leaving, he turned and called for Cao Ying in a quiet voice.
That alone was more than enough for her to hear. Her eyes opened and she left the rocky hill right away, arriving beside Lin Tian in a flash of red light.
"Have you planned something?" Cao Ying asked.
"Yes," Lin Tian replied, glancing over. "I’m going to the Yunlan Sect to meet with Li Qingxue."
"Do you need me to come along?" the woman asked, but Lin Tian shook his head.
"No need. I can handle this on my own."
"You should stay here and look after the sect while I’m gone. Let An Yue know I’ve left as well," Lin Tian said.
"An Yue?" Cao Ying asked, looking a little puzzled.
"Just do it."
Cao Ying let out a breath, arms crossed over her chest, and obeyed without another word.
After handing responsibility over to Cao Ying, Lin Tian flew off quickly and left the Lingxian Sect.
Most of the disciples weren’t bothered, but his departure took him through the forest area where An Yue was training, and the sight of it immediately caught her attention.

She paused her training for a moment, breathing hard from exertion, her eyes fixed on the sky. She watched a trail of white qi stretch out between the clouds and knew right away that it came from Lin Tian.
"Where is Master Lin going?" An Yue asked.
An Xiao, who was in the same spot, looked up at the sky and gave a brief shake of her head.
Shortly after, Cao Ying came from the direction of the sect and arrived at An Yue’s training ground in the middle of the forest.
Cao Ying’s sudden arrival startled them both. They pressed their hands together and bowed right away.
"You can continue your training, An Yue."
"I only came to tell you something... it’s a message from Lin Tian for you."
"What is it, Master Ying?" An Yue asked, too curious to go back to her training.
In another direction, Lin Tian was flying alone, cutting through the sky on his way to the Yunlan Sect.
He still had the Saintess Spring Valley map scroll with him, though he had no intention of sharing it with them.
In his view, if the reports about the valley were true, the map would be worth far more to him than ten Earth-grade techniques combined.
The distance from the Lingxian Sect to the Yunlan Sect was considerable. They were located in the southern plains of the Qin Kingdom, close to the Yuntian Sect.
Even so, not a trace of concern stirred in Lin Tian’s heart at the thought of being near the two sects. His purpose from the start was simply to have a conversation with Li Qingxue, not to start any trouble.
After passing through several forests, Lin Tian arrived at a wide lake, at the center of which sat an island guarded by rows of tall hills. That was where the Yunlan Sect stood.
"Stop, Senior."
Lin Tian’s flight came to a halt. He stood in midair, still wearing the white and gray robes of the Lingxian Sect.
The voice belonged to a young man in a pale blue robe, still hovering on his qi sword as he approached Lin Tian.
"Forgive this junior’s boldness. But you’ve entered the territory of the Yunlan Sect," the young man said. He was a Foundation Establishment cultivator. "If this junior may ask, what brings you to our sect?"
Lin Tian turned and looked at him with a cool expression. "I’m here to meet Sect Leader Li Qingxue."
The young man went quiet for a moment, his eyes going slightly wide at hearing that Lin Tian wanted to meet Sect Leader Li Qingxue. He lifted his head and worked up the courage to ask for his identity.

"Might this junior be permitted to know your name and sect, Senior?"
"I’m... Lin Tian."
"Lin Tian? Sect Leader of the Lingxian Sect?" the young man asked.
His face shifted into a look of panic. His hands trembled as he pressed them together in a bow, cold sweat soaking his head and body.
The man he had just stopped was the very person who had sealed Grand Elder Han Xin’s cultivation for twenty-five years.
His strength... is beyond anything I imagined.
"Forgive my boldness. I’ll escort you to Sect Leader Li right away."
Lin Tian gave a brief nod. He flew forward following the young man toward the hill island at the center of the lake.
Just before they entered, the young man produced his disciple token to open the protective dome surrounding the sect.
The barrier opened, and Lin Tian was able to take in the Yunlan Sect clearly.
The lake water reflected the qi glow that wrapped the entire island, while dozens of floating islands surrounded the main one like stars circling the moon.
Disciples were focused on their cultivation and training. Occasionally a small explosion could be heard from the pill refinement island, runes glowed brightly from the array island, and the constant clashing of metal rang out from the weapon and technique island.
A lively, solid sect. No wonder other sects held the Yunlan Sect in such high regard.
They stopped once they reached the main island at the center of the lake. Just as they were about to enter, the disciple was stopped by a female elder blocking the way.
The main island was a restricted area for outside disciples.
"What do you think you’re doing?" the female elder asked. She was a Core Formation cultivator.
"Forgive this disciple’s boldness. This disciple came to escort Sect Leader Lin Tian of the Lingxian Sect for a meeting with the sect leader," the young man said.
"Lin Tian?" the female elder asked, half surprised.
"What brings you here today, Sect Leader Lin?" she asked.
"There are some matters I need to discuss with Li Qingxue. Could you take me to her?"

"Sect Leader Li is currently entertaining guests from the Yuntian Sect. If you don’t mind waiting, I can escort you to the guest pavilion until they’re done."
Lin Tian gave a flat nod and followed the female elder to another part of the main island, while the outside disciple returned to his post outside the sect grounds.
Lin Tian arrived at a guest pavilion, a large and elegant two-story building with a front yard full of beautiful ponds and gardens in full bloom.
"Sect Leader Lin is welcome to wait here. Once Sect Leader Li has finished her affairs, I’ll come let you know."
"Thank you," Lin Tian said.
The female elder pressed her hands together and left, leaving Lin Tian alone.
They’re treating me well, but that’s not enough to make me lift the restriction on them.
Just as Lin Tian was about to step inside, his steps stopped when a commotion broke out from the northern gate, the same gate he had come through.
He turned around and saw a group of cultivators in gold robes arriving at the Yunlan Sect. Lin Tian activated his qi aura vision and checked their cultivation bases.
Two Mid Nascent Soul, one Early Nascent Soul, and the rest only Core Formation.
Why are so many cultivators from other sects showing up here? First Yuntian, now these ones.
Is something happening?
