Chapter 66: Give Her Number for Free

Soft booming noises echoed in the sky as the airplanes left the airport. It had always been so loud in these places, yet Luellen’s eyes glittered at seeing them. The maiden watched from the tarmac as Houston finalized everything.

She should have been waiting inside the charter plane, but her curiosity won over her comfort. So before they would fly, Luellen took the time to walk around. It didn’t matter if the place was not one for a good stroll. She just hoped to see more of the tarmac and the nearby runways.

Luellen flashed a grin at Leander, who stood next to her. She gestured at the smaller planes slowly moving into their rightful parking spots. "I’ve never been to this place before! Is it also like that for the bigger planes?"

"Hmm... I don’t normally pay attention to them." Leander held his chin. "Perhaps... but I remember them being guided by another vehicle."

"Really? I think you can’t really see much from the nose..." Luellen almost copied her fiancé’s thinking stance. However, it was quite exaggerated, with her hand rubbing her chin and her upper torso leaning to the side.

Leander spied a look at her and chuckled. He brought his arm down. "If we have more time on our way back, I can ask someone to tour you around."

Luellen perked and smiled, swiftly erasing her copied stance. "Erm, that’s too much. It’s not like we’re away on vacation. I’m okay with just seeing things right now."

"All right." The man gently nodded and looked back at their plane. He could arrange for many trips in the future. There was no lack of chances to tour Luellen if these moments mattered to her.

"Luellen, the pilots have returned." He offered a hand, and his fiancée took it. He walked Luellen back to their waiting plane.

Along the way, they ran into the two pilots headed to the plane. One was a professional whom they hired, the one they were waiting for. The other was the civilian owner of the plane. He was one of Beckett’s school friends who stayed in contact with a Wentworth. Right now, he had even earned a favor for ferrying Leander Wentworth on a business trip.

Moreover, he had gotten a first look at the man’s new fiancée.

Luellen sat beside Leander on the plane, the man readily going through the work tablet he borrowed from Houston. The maiden didn’t peek into the screen, taking out her own phone to check for any urgent emails. However, nothing new showed up. The most that got updated was their group chat.

Henny didn’t like traveling too far for business, and Leander barely took her after Houston got hired. She only liked seeing airplanes if she used her vacation leaves. That was why she stayed in the office to deal with those she could solve in minutes.

Most documents would have to wait for Leander to return. They needed his input and signature, anyway. Erm, no. Luellen only needed to turn to her right to find Leander working on what he could from the tablet.

"Lue! Mr Leander!" Summer’s cheerful voice came from behind where the kitchen was. She then carried a tray to their seat and laid down a pitcher and glasses. She also placed a bowl of ice at the side. With a big smile, she presented a drink she had made. "I can’t help but make something! It’s going to be a long trip. We don’t even have scenery to watch outside. Oh, uh, Mr Beckett’s still plating the snacks!"

"We’re only here for at most two hours." Leander, who had taken multiple trips like this, chuckled. These people could sit on buses for hours, but couldn’t sit still on a plane. Then again, he still accepted the drink Summer poured for him.

"Two hours is still two hours...!" Beckett came with a tray of warm cookies. He took a seat at the table where Leander and Luellen were. "Everyone woke up too early, too!"

Luellen couldn’t help but laugh at the enthusiasm. It was true that everyone woke up at three in the morning for the flight. She remembered how Beckett almost crawled around just so he wouldn’t miss it. Moreover, he borrowed a plane from a friend of his. He shouldn’t waste the chance to experience the private plane.

Not that Beckett couldn’t casually get one. He just didn’t have anywhere to go.

Houston came after clarifying a few things with the owner and the captain. When he reached the open area where passengers could talk and eat at a circular table, he caught Summer setting a tray for two. She just smiled at him before passing him by, delivering the snacks for the people in the cockpit.

"The plane will move to the runway in a few minutes. The tower has to clear us for departure first." Houston sat at the seat where he could easily leave. However, he didn’t miss out on the juice. He poured it himself.

"I just reconfirmed with the hotel." Beckett took a deep breath before picking up his teacup dog. He sat her on his lap and hand-fed her with cookies made for a dog. "Did you hear that, Sydney? We’re going to have a special dog-traveler suite for us! You don’t have to go outside the hotel for your bathroom business..."

Sydney only stayed happy and quiet, her tail wagging. She didn’t know what a dog-traveler suite was, but she liked being hand-fed delicious cookies.

Luellen watched the pair of fur baby and parent. Just a few days ago, those two were almost at death’s door. After she used her healing perfume on Beckett, he recovered fully. He didn’t even waste another day asking for another to heal his Sydney. Even the maiden didn’t realize she could also use the perfume on a dog. Still, it made everyone happy.

Even Leander stopped questioning those potions. They could only amuse him.

"Oh, yeah... Luellen..." Beckett looked up at the maiden. "My friend is asking for Summer’s number. Does she... give her number for free?"

"Uhm... I don’t think Summer wants to date anyone right now..." Luellen hummed. She didn’t have a deep impression of Beckett’s friend.

Then again, she didn’t know if Summer would exchange numbers with someone just because they had a private plane. Not that Summer could be materialistic, but a plane was a plane. How efficient would it be if someone knew a friend with a private plane? Even Luellen would like it if she knew someone she could borrow expensive equipment from.

Leander, who stayed quiet, lifted his gaze from his tablet to his brother’s face. "What about me? Aren’t you going to ask for my opinion?"

"You’re not Summer’s dad or something..." Beckett chuckled in nervousness.

"Humph, that guy has a string of lovers in every country he goes to. If he’s going to damage Ms Bloomfield’s morale at work, I’d rather ask her to drop him."
