Chapter 80: Stop
The universe listened.
For a single, impossible moment, everything in existence yielded to a single will. The void creature did not merely slow down; it was not temporarily delayed or physically restrained. It froze. Reality itself accepted Orion’s spoken command as absolute, immutable law.
An oppressive silence dominated the battlefield.
The broken sky stopped its violent expansion, the colossal black pillar ceased its upward growth, and the jagged fragments of shattered space hanging throughout the heavens became perfectly motionless.
The effect lasted exactly three seconds.
Then, Orion felt something tear deep within his soul. An excruciating agony exploded through his body—not a physical wound or a standard spiritual backlash, but a fundamental tearing of his very existence. *The King’s Right* was actively consuming him from the inside out.
◈ AUTHORITY OVERLOAD ◈
*Current Authority Usage: 4,382% Above Safe Limit*
*Recommendation: Stop Being Stupid.*

The Old Bastard looked entirely vindicated. "There it is."
The Founder nodded grimly. "There it is."

Orion collapsed heavily to one knee, dark blood spilling past his lips. The command had successfully rewritten reality, but the toll had nearly ended his life.
*Interesting. Apparently commanding reality has a steep price tag. Who would have guessed?*
The First Sovereign certainly had. He was staring at Orion with an expression suspended directly between horror and sheer disbelief. "No..." He shook his head, his voice rising in panic. "No, that’s impossible. You shouldn’t have access to that yet!"
The Old Bastard pointed a translucent finger toward Orion. "Well, apparently he does."
"You sealed it!" the First Sovereign snarled.
"I sealed a lot of things."
"You sealed *this!*"
The Founder’s eyes widened with sudden interest. "Oh. You actually sealed *that*?"
The Old Bastard shifted uncomfortably. "Yes."
"Why?"
The ancient founder gestured toward Orion’s blood-streaked face. "Because of exactly what you are looking at right now."
*Fair. Very fair.*
### The Lie of Reality
Though the void creature remained frozen, tiny, hairline fractures were beginning to spiderweb across the invisible restraint holding it in place. Each snap sent terrifying tremors through the local dimensions. The command was weakening; the anomaly was breaking free.
Orion instinctively understood the nature of the power. *The King’s Right* wasn’t forcing physical obedience. It was actively rewriting possibility. For three agonizing seconds, reality had accepted the lie that the void creature was incapable of movement. Now, reality was struggling to maintain the deception—and it was losing.
The transfer progress climbed.

As golden light surged through his veins to dull the agony, a sudden memory slammed into Orion’s mind. It wasn’t his own.
The battlefield vanished, replaced by a vision of a colossal golden throne standing at the literal edge of existence. Infinite star systems rotated around its base, galaxies drifted beneath its footrest, and entire realities circled it like loyal servants.

Sitting upon the throne was the First Sovereign. He was older, radiating an authority so immense that every breath he drew altered reality, every glance shifted destiny, and every idle thought reshaped existence.
Yet, he looked completely, utterly miserable.
The memory shifted. The First Sovereign stood up, and as he did, the massive golden throne cracked. It was a tiny, barely noticeable fracture. Then another appeared. Then another.
The First Sovereign looked down at the fissures. Confusion crossed his face, rapidly followed by realization, and finally, absolute terror.
The memory shattered.
### The Warning (25%)
Orion gasped as he was slammed back into his physical body.

The First Sovereign was watching him closely. His expression had softened; he knew exactly what memory Orion had just parsed. He let out a laugh—not bitter or angry, but profoundly sad.
"I never wanted this," the man whispered. The words carried no deception or manipulation, only a bottomless regret. He looked toward the countless worlds visible beyond the bleeding cracks in the sky. "They were dying. So I kept climbing. I kept growing stronger."
His smile turned entirely hollow. "And eventually, there was nobody left powerful enough to stop me."
The admission settled heavily over the silent plaza. Everyone understood the tragic implication: the First Sovereign hadn’t become a monster out of malice. He had become a monster because there was no longer anyone in existence who could tell him *no*.
The Old Bastard closed his eyes. "That was the fundamental flaw."
"Yes," the First Sovereign agreed softly.
The Founder sighed. "We should have killed you."
"You tried."
"Fair."
The two ancient beings exchanged a brief, quiet look—the kind shared only between old friends who had survived catastrophes together. Then, the First Sovereign turned his gaze back to Orion. There was no hostility left in his golden eyes. Only a deep, unsettling concern.
"Don’t finish the Path," he warned, pointing toward the floating transfer metric. "Don’t become what I became."
### The Hunger Beyond
Suddenly, the void creature trembled violently. The conceptual command restraining it shattered into a million invisible pieces. Reality screamed as the thing moved.
The consequences were instantaneous and devastating. The academy’s remaining defensive barriers exploded into dust, nearby mountain ranges vanished from the horizon, and entire sections of the sky simply ceased to exist. The golden chains of the lock strained to their absolute limits, and Caelum coughed up another torrent of blood as the prison began to fail.
The First Sovereign spun around with urgent focus. The void creature was pouring through the rift, and with the stasis gone, Orion could finally see its true nature.

It wasn’t a physical body. It was a walking absence—a shaped wound in the fabric of existence. It didn’t consume matter; rather, matter simply ceased to exist in its proximity.
The System manifested before Orion’s eyes, devoid of its usual sarcasm.
◈ DESIGNATION CONFIRMED ◈
*Entity: THE HUNGER BEYOND*
*Classification: External Existence*
*Threat Level: EXTINCTION*
*Original Point Of Entry: Stage Ten Breach*
◈ ◈ ◈
The First Sovereign closed his eyes. "There it is."
Understanding crashed into Orion like a physical blow. The void creature wasn’t the First Sovereign’s weapon. It never had been. The First Sovereign had merely opened the door by reaching Stage Ten—and *this* was the thing that had crawled through.
The secret lineage, the Hunters, the sacrifices, the ancient seal—everything had been designed to contain a single, catastrophic mistake.
The transfer climbed again.
◈ FINAL INHERITANCE ◈

Golden authority exploded outward from Orion. Under the pressure of *The King’s Right*, the fractured pieces of the sky began to knit back together.
The Hunger Beyond immediately recoiled, flinching away from the golden light. For the first time, genuine fear radiated from the void. The entity feared the Authority.
The creature let out a silent roar that erased forests hundreds of kilometers away. The seal shook, and Caelum staggered. The black-haired cultivator was actively dying; the anchor was burning through his remaining lifeforce by the second.
Caelum caught Orion looking at him. He offered a weak, annoying hero’s smile. "Don’t waste it," he murmured.
### A New Function (33%)
The transfer metric ticked upward.
◈ FINAL INHERITANCE ◈

*Transfer Progress: 33%*
◈ SECOND FUNCTION AVAILABLE ◈
*THE KING’S RIGHT*
* **Function Two:** DELEGATE
* **Status:** LOCKED
* **Unlock Requirement:** 40% Transfer
◈ ◈ ◈
The Old Bastard read the notification and immediately let out a string of curses.
The Founder looked alarmed. "What is it now?"
The ancient founder pointed a shaking finger at Orion. "If he manages to unlock *Delegate*..." He paused, his voice barely a whisper. "We might actually have a chance."
Everyone froze. Even the First Sovereign looked completely stunned. For the first time since the seals had begun to shatter, the Old Bastard sounded genuinely hopeful.
And far beyond the bleeding sky, The Hunger Beyond began its final, accelerated descent toward the world.
