Chapter 368: Make A Decision
Ruan Chanchan was stunned when she saw the sight in front of her.
Oh boy.
Even Xiao Xi could see sparks flying all over the entire space; he was worried that things would escalate, and, looking at the situation, there was a good chance that the situation might really escalate. Xiao Xi looked at Ruan Chanchan, whose face had turned pale with fright, and sighed. He said to her, "This is not the time for you to lose your mind in such a manner. Think of something to calm that mer down, or else there is a good chance that he might end up fighting with the prince."
Xiao Xi did not think that the mer could possibly survive if he were to fight with someone like Rong Xian. Xie Daiyu might be strong, but he was not as strong as Rong Xian. That mer was on another level! If Xie Daiyu was determined to cause trouble with him, then he was worried that Xie Daiyu would be beaten into a pulp. What would happen then?
Ruan Chanchan also snapped out of her daze and turned to look at Xie Daiyu. At one look, she knew that the mer wanted to skin the person alive. Unfortunately, even if he had such a desire, the chances of it coming true were close to none because Rong Xian was not someone who would passively allow someone to beat him up. She hurriedly scrambled to her feet and rushed to where Xie Daiyu was standing and caught her by his arms.
"Daiyu, oh, I am so glad you are here!" Ruan Chanchan exclaimed. There was a note of guilt in her voice, something that Xie Daiyu caught with ease. He looked at her with a frown on his face and smiled, but there was a hint of sarcasm on his face as he stated in a harsh and cold voice, "Of course, I am here. If I did not come here, how would I know that you did such a good thing?"
Xie Daiyu was not angry at Ruan Chanchan. He had heard the ins and outs of the matter and knew that this was not something under Ruan Chanchan’s control. After all, Rong Xian was her mate, and it was reasonable that the woman would end up claiming him. But what he could not accept was how easily the people from the Killer Whale Tribe ended up taking Ruan Chanchan under their control. Did they think that just because Ruan Chanchan was Rong Xian’s mate, they could just make the claim on her? He would not allow that to happen.
Because Ruan Chanchan was also his mate!
Xie Daiyu raised his head and looked at Rong Xian as if he were facing a great enemy and said to him in a low and threatening voice, "Chanchan is the mother of my children; even if you want to claim her as your mate, you cannot just decide everything on your own."
He would not allow his children to be born without a mother.
If Rong Xian thought that he could just snatch Ruan Chanchan from him, then he was wrong. He would never allow such a thing to happen.
Rong Xian, however, did not seem to be affected. In fact, he cocked a brow and looked at Xie Daiyu with a hint of amusement in his eyes. He said to him in a mocking tone, "So what? Even if she is your child’s mother, there have been many instances where a woman has abandoned her children and imprinted a mate to follow her destined mate. So what is wrong with Ruan Chanchan doing the same?"
Rong Xian did not think that there was any reason for Ruan Chanchan to stay in the Big Bear tribe; first of all, it was too weak, and there was nothing worth staying there for. It would be a lot better for her to stay with their tribe; at least she would be able to live a good life. What would she even get even if she were to go back to that tribe?
"You—" Sheer rage enveloped Xie Daiyu’s eyes when he heard the words of the mer. He took a deadly step forward and glared at the mer, who was trying to take his mate away. "You might be the prince of this tribe, but you are no prince of mine! You better not try to command me. I have no obligations to listen to you!" Xie Daiyu was breathing hard as he looked at the mer in front of him. He was determined to fight for Ruan Chanchan. Even if it meant almost losing his life, he would rather spill his last drop of blood than watch his mate being snatched away.
Rong Xian sneered when he heard the words of the reckless mer who did not seem to understand his situation. He stepped forward and looked at Xie Daiyu and said to him, "You are really something. You know that you cannot give Ruan Chanchan anything, and yet you are determined to take her along with you. What can you even do for her?"
Rong Xian’s words were like burning nails; they got deeply embedded in Xie Daiyu’s heart. He glared at the mer, but he could not say anything because Rong Xian was right. Their tribe could not give anything to Ruan Chanchan.
"Your highness, it seems like emotions are running high." When Chief Xie saw that the situation was getting a bit stressful, she could not help but intervene. She looked at Rong Xian, who seemed a bit too determined and did not know how to change the mind of this mer.
Since she could not deal with the prince, she could only turn her attention to the queen. She said to the woman in a sort of pleading voice, "Your majesty, I understand the prince’s desire to bring his mate next to him, but you also need to understand that Ruan Chanchan is also the mother of my son’s children. You cannot just command her to stay with your son, this can certainly not be allowed."
