Shin waited until everyone had finished eating before speaking.

"You've all noticed that this place is uniquely empty. A few miles away there is a massively dense forest, and still this place doesn't have even a single plant," he began. "There is a reason for that. The ground outside isn't ordinary soil. It's alive."

Several of the girls frowned.

"Alive?" Materna asked, looking at the cold floor. She couldn't feel any life coming from it.

Shin nodded.

"The dirt covering these plains is actually the outer layer of a gigantic colony monster. It lives beneath the surface, buried hundreds of meters underground. What we walk on isn't earth anymore. It's its skin."

The girls instinctively looked toward the cave entrance.

Shin explained that the seemingly lifeless soil functioned like countless tiny mouths. They were far too small to see, but every grain constantly absorbed the nutrients from anything touching it.

Plants couldn't survive there because the nutrients inside them were drained before they could grow. Small animals wandered in and slowly starved without ever understanding why.

"The process isn't fast," Shin continued. "Someone as strong as us could probably walk on it for two or maybe three hours before the effects became dangerous. At first you'll simply feel tired. Then your muscles will weaken. Eventually your body won't have enough nutrients to function."

Medea folded her arms slowly, the motion pressing against her chest and emphasizing her ample bosom. "So that's why I couldn't detect a single life sign."

She lowered her gaze toward the cave floor.

"If this thing feeds on everything above it... then this entire plain is basically its hunting ground."

Shin gave a small nod.

"Yes, but we're safe as long as we stay on solid rock," he said. Shin wasn't entirely sure why. He knew simple shoes weren't enough to protect them, but the game proved that rock was.

Simply put, it was more of a game mechanic than anything else, but they were safe anyway.

Yasmin tilted her head. "But why would a monster evolve like that? Wouldn't it starve waiting for something to pass by?"

"Not really, because this creature is expanding," Shin commented. "The creature beneath us continuously spreads its roots farther every year. Those roots slowly consume minerals, dead organic matter, and expand in the direction of the ancient trees. However, the trees are so massive that the expansion is slow."

"So how are we supposed to cross this place?" Medea asked, confused.

"Wait, what if we gave each other a ride?" Meanwhile, Mora offered her own suggestion. "Like, if our king is on my back, he wouldn't be touching the ground, so there would be no problem."

"Yes, but you would still be touching it," Shin commented with an ironic smile.

"Can't we just fly over it?" Octavia asked.

"No," Medea answered immediately, because she already knew this was impossible.

Unlike the other girls, she preferred to use her wings to fly rather than walk, but she soon noticed that, for some reason, she couldn't fly over that disastrous place.

"There is a powerful anti-flight magic cast over all these plains, so that also won't work," Shin explained anyway. "That is why we need to weaken the creature first…"

Shin commented. At least in the game, this was the only way to cross that place. The problem was that the process would be very annoying, and it would take multiple days.

"Couldn't I just replenish everyone else's nutrients while we walk?" Materna suggested. "I have the power to restore energy, after all."

"But then you would deplete yourself even faster," Shin replied. "It's too risky."

"Not necessarily..." Materna said, although her confident smile slowly softened into a thoughtful expression. "At least... I think I can manage it. You said we could survive for around three hours, right? If I completely restored everyone's nutrients before they were exhausted, wouldn't that give us another three hours?"

Shin thought about it for a moment.

"Something like that," he admitted. "I'm not completely sure how it works…"

In the game, he never got a succubus with abilities like hers to test against it. He generally didn't even pay too much attention to succubi in the game.

"I don't know the exact numbers. But in theory, replenishing what the soil steals should extend the amount of time we can stay on it."

Materna nodded.

"My recovery magic doesn't create nutrients from nothing," she explained. "Whenever I eat, I can compress the excess nutrients and magical energy into an extremely dense form of milk. My body stores it inside my breasts until I decide to use it. Then I can transfer those nutrients to someone else."

The girls looked at her large breasts almost simultaneously. Noticing both their gazes and Shin's, she playfully squeezed them.

"The only real limitation is storage," Materna continued. "But that's not much of a problem. My breasts can expand to hold much larger quantities whenever necessary. If I eat as much as possible, I'm fairly certain I'll have enough reserves for all of us."

Shin considered the proposal before giving a slow nod.

"To make it even safer, Mora and I can carry everyone else."

Mora immediately smiled playfully. "Leave it to me," she said, raising her hands.

"If only the two of us are constantly touching the ground," Shin continued, ignoring her interruption, "then the colony will mainly be draining nutrients from us. So Materna can focus on restoring only the two of us instead of all seven."

Materna smiled warmly. "That would reduce my consumption considerably. I should be able to keep up much longer that way."

She placed a hand against one of her large breasts.

"There's one small inconvenience, though. Once I compress my nutrient reserves into dense milk, I begin lactating continuously. It would be rather wasteful to prepare everything now."

"So we should do it tomorrow morning," Shin concluded. "We don't really need to leave that early if we are going with this strategy."

"Okay, perfect!" Materna said. "It's better like that, because now I can use my boobies as a bed for you. If I stuffed them with milk, I wouldn't be able to use that magic."

Shin nodded, remembering that Materna could "create a bed" with her breasts. That ability really was insane, but succubi were sex demons, so they all represented absurd fetishes and things like that.

"So, should we go to sleep?" Octavia asked excitedly.
