After the intense fight and the chaotic escape, the group continued moving with a tense mood, careful in case they would be attacked again.

They walked for nearly two hours before the oppressive canopy of the massive ancient trees disappeared. It didn't thin out slowly; it simply disappeared.

Behind them was a completely dark forest. Ahead of them, they could see a very long stretch of plain land.

The ground ahead looked deceptively ordinary, dry, cracked dirt, almost like a normal forest clearing. Yet nothing grew there. No grass, no shrubs, not even a single weed.

Shin stepped forward into the new biome, his boots crunching on the barren soil. He immediately raised a hand.

"Stay close and be quick," he said seriously. "We need to find a cave or some rock formation to hide in. I'll explain everything later. Move."

The girls sensed the urgency in his tone and didn't argue. They broke into a light run across the strange dead ground.

After a short distance, they spotted a rocky outcrop with a decent-sized cave entrance partially hidden by boulders. Shin led them inside without hesitation.

The cave was dry and relatively shallow, but it offered good cover and a decent view of the surroundings. And, more importantly, the floor of the cave was made of rock.

Once everyone was safely inside, Shin turned to speak, but Medea beat him to it.

"I already used a detection spell," the mage succubus said reluctantly, crossing her arms. "There are… almost no living creatures nearby. This entire area feels dead."

Shin nodded, unsurprised. "Exactly what I expected. This is…"

Before he could continue, Octavia stepped closer to him, pressing her voluptuous body against his side with a warm, proud smile.

"While you and Mora were… busy," she said sweetly, "the rest of us had a little competition to decide who gets to sleep with you tonight." Her cheeks flushed, but her eyes sparkled with victory.

"You already had your fair share of fun," Medea said.

Seeing everyone against her again, Mora finally gave up, sitting in her own corner. She indeed needed to learn not to disobey Shin or put the group in a difficult position because she was horny.

Yasmin flickered into view. "Anyway, about us staying here. I'll scout around the perimeter and keep watch. This place seems secure enough for us to rest—"

"No." Shin cut her off firmly. "Nobody leaves the cave. No one should stay out on that seemingly normal dirt for too long. I'll explain why later. Everyone stays inside tonight."

Yasmin pouted but obeyed, remaining visible near the wall.

Octavia puffed out her chest proudly. "But if there is no danger, we can still sleep here, right? So, as the winner of our little contest… I get to sleep with you, my lord~"

Shin rubbed his temple, thinking about the subject. Looking toward the horizon, the sun was already setting, painting the dead barrens in deep orange and red. They really did need rest.

"Fine. We'll sleep here tonight. But first—"

Before he could finish, Materna stepped forward with a gentle, motherly smile.
