Suna immediately took out the Greedy Eye telescope, paid the required shell coins, and used it to observe the monster that had appeared not far away.

Through the lens, she saw a human figure at the creature’s head. More than half of his body was embedded inside the monster, and he was wearing a familiar standard set of armor.

“Yang Yi?” Her eyes widened.

Meanwhile, at the scene in the distance, at the intersection of the Sanctuary’s cross-shaped structure.

Yang Yi burst out through the blasted opening, every limb on his body straining upward.

He had chosen the location well. Behind him stood the lighthouse, and the sea surface was only about twenty metres below. Jumping into the ocean would be easy.

There were just over fifty seconds left.

That should be enough time to jump into the sea, maybe even swim a short distance away.

He pushed forward with all his strength. The sharp edges of the torn structure scraped away quite a few components from his body.

But it didn’t matter.

This wasn’t his real body anyway. Losing parts of it meant nothing to him.

More than ten seconds later, Yang Yi’s fifty meter long body had completely emerged from the Sanctuary.

Yang Yi himself, positioned at the head, was already close to the sea.

Splash!

Water exploded upwards as he plunged in, making a considerable commotion.

Suna watched the entire scene unfold.

She saw a monstrous worm made from countless twisted human bodies and garbage dive into the ocean.

The front half of its body moved like a sea serpent, twisting as it swam forward.

The rear half resembled a scorpion’s tail, curling upwards while cables suspended the generator in the air, preventing it from touching the seawater directly.

“A body that huge, and it’s still that agile…”

Suna carefully studied the structure of the rat nest. Compared to a biological creature, it looked more like a living machine.

About twenty seconds later.

Yang Yi had already swum more than 150 metres away.

Only about ten seconds remained before the generator exploded.

“This distance should be enough!”

He stopped moving.

The head of the rat nest rose above the sea surface. At the same time, Yang Yi swung his sword with his right hand, bringing down the Iron Severing Greatsword toward his own feet, cutting the connection between himself and the rat nest.

A strange mass fell from the head of the nest into the dark sea.

It was Yang Yi, finally freed after severing the connection.

He used both hands and feet to tear away the flesh that was stuck to his armour, ripping it apart, then quickly swam away from the area.

Without its controller, the enormous body of the rat nest froze completely and began to sink slowly into the ocean.

At last, the generator touched the sea surface.

Electric arcs spread outwards, splashing water everywhere.

Then a dull boom erupted from underwater. The power unit inside the rat nest had exploded, blasting up a gigantic column of water dozens of metres high.

Because the explosion occurred in shallow waters, a ring of waves spread outward across the sea. Even the nearby Nightmare Star was affected, rising and falling with the swell.

Around the blast site, a brief rain of seawater fell back down.

Suna glanced at Yang Yi’s status panel, then turned the Nightmare Star around and headed towards the explosion site.

Underwater.

Although Yang Yi had swum some distance away, the shockwave from the explosion still caught up with him. He tumbled through the water more than a dozen times, his chest tightening painfully.

Fortunately, he had already put more than a hundred metres between himself and the blast. Combined with the protection of his armor, he did not suffer serious injuries. The explosion only left him dizzy.

Once the water calmed down, Yang Yi immediately swam upwards.

He burst through the surface and gulped down large breaths of air.

“Whew… that finally takes care of it!”

He looked towards the explosion site, where large amounts of debris and dismembered remains were floating on the sea.

Suddenly, a grappling hook shot out, catching Yang Yi and dragging him onto a ship.

Inside the Nightmare Star’s cabin.

By the time Yang Yi came to his senses, he was already inside. Suna must have hauled him aboard.

Soon the person responsible climbed down the ladder.

“Suna, you haven’t gone to Area C yet? Good, then we can go together. The rats in the warehouse have already been dealt with. We need to hurry and repair the leak…”

Yang Yi began explaining.

But Suna ignored him.

Her expression was cold as she gave an order.

“Insert the spikes.”

The Penitent Armour reacted immediately. Recognizing that the command was directed at it, all of its spikes extended at once.

Yang Yi also sensed that something was wrong. Suna seemed to be in a bad mood. Without saying anything, he quietly removed his helmet.

But just then, a slick tongue suddenly slipped out through the crack in the chest plate of his armor and licked Suna across the face.

Cold sweat instantly covered Yang Yi’s back.

Fortunately, the tongue didn’t rip off a piece of flesh the way it had when it licked the Rat King. Yang Yi immediately grabbed it, yanked it back, tied it into a tight knot on the spot, and stuffed it back inside the armour.

“Are you okay? That wasn’t me. I can’t control that tongue!”

Yang Yi hurried to explain.

But Suna didn’t seem to care. She simply wiped her face and took the helmet from Yang Yi’s hand.

“How much did your corruption increase this time?” she asked.

Yang Yi glanced at his status panel and answered honestly.

“Thirty nine percent. It didn’t go up that much.”

“Really?

Then how many more times do you think you can use that armour before you grow a few more mouths like that?” she said, clearly displeased, her tone almost like a scolding.

“Uh…”

Yang Yi had no reply. He could only watch as Suna stored the helmet in her bag of holding, clearly confiscating it.

“That’s a bit harsh. At worst, I’ll just use the armor less often in the future.”

“No.”

Suna rejected the idea without hesitation.

“Your promises have zero credibility.

Also, take off the rest of the armour,” she added.

Yang Yi clicked his tongue in annoyance but had no choice.

Still, he had plenty of other tricks up his sleeve. Losing this one card didn’t matter much. He could always find an opportunity to take it back later.

He removed the Penitent Armour. The sharp spikes withdrew from his body, pulling free and bringing out quite a bit of blood. His wolf fur was soaked almost instantly, and the cabin filled with the sharp smell of blood.

Yang Yi was still in his werewolf form, and his powerful physique allowed him to treat his body this roughly. His vitality dropped by only about ten points.

After that, he cancelled the transformation and reached down to grab the mouth on his stomach.

“Let go! I only did what you wanted to do!” the mouth protested.

“That’s nonsense!”

Yang Yi squeezed it tightly so it couldn’t speak anymore.

“Hurry up and stitch it shut! That mouth seems to have developed its own consciousness!”

Suna glanced at him, then skillfully stitched the opening closed.

After a brief rest, the two of them prepared to return to the Sanctuary and begin emergency repairs.

They gathered supplies they might need, including steel, wood, stone, and crystal. They brought a large amount of steel in particular, 1320 units, since repairs would likely require it.

Yang Yi drank a Regeneration Potion. A wave of itching spread across his body as his wounds rapidly healed.

“Time to go…”

Yang Yi stepped into the witch’s laboratory. Suna’s preparations were almost finished as well. Under her outer clothes, she had already put on a one piece sharkskin swimsuit.

“Why are you wearing my clothes?” Yang Yi asked.

“You don’t need them anyway. And the stats are good. Before your wolf fur gets soaked, it can even help with buoyancy,” Suna replied smoothly.

“That… actually makes sense.”

Yang Yi nodded in agreement.

Definitely not because Suna looked better wearing it.

Once they were ready, the two of them headed toward the deck.

Suna also brought along the newly acquired satchel, which contained the damaged No. 1 and No. 3 robots.
