Chapter 526: Chapter 526: Preparing to Give a Lecture

Xu Xiangbei received a call from Dean Sun of Earth Sea First Hospital during dinner: "Advisor Xu, hello, I’m calling about the lecture at our medical school. Are you free this weekend?"

With Dean Sun’s reminder, Xu Xiangbei recalled that he had promised to make time one weekend to give a lecture to the students at the Herbal Medicine School.

He chuckled: "Dean Sun, I’m just a junior advisor, probably around the same age as the students at the Herbal Medicine School. Is it appropriate for me to go?"

Dean Sun laughed: "I am the honorary principal of the Herbal Medicine School. If I say it’s appropriate, it’s appropriate. And I heard that Advisor Xu donated a million to Earth Sea University? Hehe, could you also donate a bit to our Herbal Medicine School? I will list you as our honorary director. Although it may not mean much in academics at Earth Sea, it’s quite notable in the Chinese medicine community. Your name will be included in Huaxia Chinese Medicine, the most famous journal in our field. In the world of Chinese medicine, that journal is as renowned as Time magazine."

"Honorary director, with a name registered in the Huaxia Chinese Medicine journal, sounds quite prestigious. Alright then, I’ll donate a million to the Herbal Medicine School too."

"Then tomorrow morning at nine, come to the principal’s office at the Chinese medicine school, and we’ll start our training. The main topic will be about the body’s meridians. This should not be unfamiliar to Advisor Xu."

The body’s meridians, twelve standard meridians, eight extraordinary ones—Xu Xiangbei had been forced to learn these by his grandfather since he was a child, so he was naturally familiar with them.

"Alright, I can manage to teach this content."

"Then see you at nine tomorrow."

"Tomorrow—tomorrow is Saturday, right?"

Dean Sun chuckled: "Advisor Xu really is a busy man. Of course, tomorrow is Saturday."

Xu Xiangbei smiled wryly, as he had hoped to be lazy and sleep in all day tomorrow. It looked like he’d have to get up early.

"See you tomorrow morning."

These days were so tiring that, despite going to bed early, Xu Xiangbei found himself getting up at nearly eight in the morning, with the sun shining on his backside.

Having made a nine o’clock appointment with Principal Sun, he couldn’t break his promise. Considering he had to lecture students, he put on his favorite black Armani suit shirt and slicked back his hair. He looked like a Huaxia version of Song Joong-ki.

Seeing that Ah Rong’s room door was closed, Xu Xiangbei guessed he was still sleeping. Having just come out of detention, Ah Rong was likely even more tired than himself. The hand Xu Xiangbei stretched out to knock on the door eventually retreated.

He felt awkward asking Ah Rong to drive him to the Herbal Medicine School, and upon hearing movement from the dining room, he peered inside and saw Xiao Lin sitting at the table having breakfast.

Xiao Lin was wearing a pink dress, with a blue silk belt accentuating her small waist, looking like an Elf Princess—elegant and adorable.

Her slender, snow-white fingers held a coffee cup, and her little finger was slightly raised. Her nails glistened, painted with vivid fire-red polish.

She was gracefully sipping milk, her long, ink-black hair cascading over her snow-white fragrant shoulders. Her mixed-race complexion appeared exceptionally fair and tender, and her pale blue eyes had an ocean-like depth.

Upon seeing Xu Xiangbei’s leering gaze, a slight blush akin to a rosy sunset appeared on Xiao Lin’s face.

Xu Xiangbei cheekily sat down next to Xiao Lin, taking a faint whiff and becoming intoxicated with the subtle maiden’s fragrance surrounding her.

"Sister Xiao Lin, you smell so nice, even your complexion is fairer and more fragrant than milk."

Xiao Lin giggled, almost spurting out her milk. She picked up a napkin with her delicate hand and dabbed at her mouth corners, smiling charmingly: "Sweet talking so early in the morning, can I drink my milk in peace, Brother Xu? Do you need anything?"

"Hehe, nothing really, I haven’t seen you for several days, I missed you."

Xiao Lin’s eyes twinkled playfully: "Oh really? Don’t you know there’s this communication tool called a phone?"

Upstairs, lively footsteps were heard as Ouyang Jiahui dashed down, overhearing Xu Xiangbei and Xiao Lin’s conversation. She shook her pomelo blast hairstyle, looking disdainfully at Xu Xiangbei.

"Unmotivated kindness is either treachery or theft. You’re dressed in a suit and tie, looking opportunistic. Did you hope to act on ulterior motives toward Xiao Lin while I was away? Spill the beans—what’s your wicked plan?"

Xu Xiangbei loosened his tie, glared at Ouyang Jiahui, and retorted: "Where did you get such evil ideas about me? Ulterior motives and wicked plans—I just wanted a ride, that’s all. And what’s wrong with dressing sharply? Everyone appreciates beauty. Can’t I wear a suit and tie? It’s already past eight, haven’t you gone to your magazine office? Great, my car is in Jiangcheng, I desperately need to go to the Herbal Medicine School. Can you give me a ride?"

Ouyang Jiahui’s face was filled with a lazy smile that brimmed with teasing and jest. Her lips opened slowly then snapped shut, forcing out a word: "NO."

"Don’t be so stingy, lend me a hand—my car’s in Jiangcheng, and I’ve never been to the Chinese medicine school."

Both Ouyang Jiahui and Xiao Lin displayed expressions of helpless affection: "Today, I’m taking Xiao Lin to our magazine to shoot fashion pictures. The photographer has been booked long ago. The places we’re going and your Chinese medicine school are one in the east and one in the west. Brother, I honestly can’t drive you to the Herbal Medicine School."

With a ding, the elevator door opened. Gu Xinyan, wearing a white chiffon skirt, appeared radiant as she wheeled herself out of the elevator. Seeing Xu Xiangbei’s sharp attire, a blush of appreciation spread across her face.

"Brother Xu, Sister Jia Hui, Xiao Lin—you’re all here. Is there breakfast ready?"

Xiao Lin pushed the milk and bread toward Gu Xinyan, playfully smiling: "Of course there is. Here, we’ve got bread, milk, lettuce, and bacon—it’s in the fridge. If you want bacon, you need to heat it up in the microwave."

Living in the Purple Gold Villa, treating Xiao Lin, Ouyang Jiahui, and the others like sisters, Gu Xinyan’s white face showed a bashful yet delighted smile as she received breakfast from Xiao Lin.

"Thanks, Xiao Lin. I’d rather skip the bacon, just a slice of bread with lettuce is fine. Brother Xu, you’re dressed so dapper, where are you heading?"

With Gu Xinyan complimenting him, Xu Xiangbei immediately felt energized, leaning close to her snow-white cheek and winked mischievously: "Do I look handsome? Only the Heavenly Sister has an eye for detail—noticed my handsomeness right away. Do I look like a charismatic professor?"

Everyone was amused by Xu Xiangbei, and Gu Xinyan giggled without a chance to speak before Ouyang Jiahui jumped in to tease: "You don’t look like a charismatic professor, more like a lovesick puppy."

The three beauties laughed even harder, and despite several attempts at restraint, milk still spurted from Xiao Lin’s cherry lips.
