Chapter 716: “Cruotis Prime’s Consciousness” I
’Teleportation?! No... there’s no spatial distortion! That’s just pure speed!’
Before Bewússtsein could fully process the thought, the ambient temperature skyrocketed, and an explosion erupted against his giant avatar’s side. The blast obliterated two of the arms on his right and tore through a significant chunk of the torso.
’Damn it! I need to keep this form intact until I finish creating my legs!’
Cursing inwardly, Bewússtsein channelled Life Law energy, consuming a portion of the organic mass from the billions he had absorbed to regenerate the damaged areas.
But his troubles were far from over—he was fighting more than just one opponent, after all.
Jamie’s sword struck from the left, forcing Bewússtsein to conjure a Spatial-Type Barrier to counter the spatial attack. At the same time, he pulled back his right hand, channelling Destructive Energy into his fist to block Arthur’s oncoming slash from the front.
Both Arthur and Jamie ignored the giant avatar, their dangerous attacks targeting Bewússtsein’s true body perched atop it.
Just as Arthur’s sword was about to meet Bewússtsein’s fist, Arthur drew in a surge of Cosmic Energy, activating his one true ’Authority.’
| Authority of the Progenitor godslayer |
| Progenitor Authority:
+85% (+15%) Overall Power Boost upon Activation.|
’?!’
Sword and fist collided in a blinding explosion of cosmic energy. Both attacks bypassed each other’s durability, sending cracks spidering through the bones of both combatants.
Arthur’s Progenitor Authority boosted his power on activation, and if there was a divine nearby, the boost doubled in efficiency.
However, since Bewússtsein wasn’t divine and no divine entity was present, Arthur only received the base boost.
Even so, his current Deity-level state amplified the effect further.
Lostvayne’s Full Release also enhanced Arthur’s physical parameters, allowing him to channel the sword’s immense power without his body succumbing to the strain.
This combination overwhelmed Bewússtsein more than expected, forcing his fist backwards from the impact.
While he managed to block Jamie’s attack effectively, Bewússtsein had no time to recover before Evan appeared behind him, his sword slicing upward.
|Hell Unleashed|
A surge of flames erupted from Evan’s wide slash, roaring toward Bewússtsein, but in the split-second before impact, Bewússtsein conjured a counter-barrier.
[Echobarriere!]
The barrier neutralized Evan’s attack with equivalent energy, resulting in a violent burst of flames. Taking advantage of his immunity to his own power, Evan leapt through the flames and thrust his sword toward Bewússtsein’s back, commanding those flames to swirl around the blade.
At the same time, Arthur hurled a Time Bomb at Bewússtsein’s face, and though it caused no real damage, the explosion distracted him, forcing him to lose track of Arthur for a critical moment.
That split-second was all Arthur needed—his sword slashed toward Bewússtsein’s neck with lethal intent.
But just before the blade could connect, one of the colossal arms of Bewússtsein’s flesh avatar shot forward, grabbing Arthur from behind and pulling him away.
For Evan, Bewússtsein conjured a barrage of elemental weapon constructs.
[Elementares Arsenal!]
The sudden close-range barrage forced Evan to adjust his movements, switching his thrust into a defensive circular swing to block the incoming weapons. He then teleported out of the area to avoid the attack’s AOE entirely.
Meanwhile, the massive arm holding Arthur attempted to slam him into the ground, but Arthur created a gravity field around his body, expanding it until the pressure shattered the arm’s grip.
Grabbing the wrist arm with both hands, Arthur displayed a strength that defied his size, tearing the massive arm off the 500-meter-tall avatar, and leaving Bewússtsein momentarily stunned.
Landing gracefully on the ground, Arthur swung the severed arm upward, his voice commanding the law of gravity.
|Maelstrom|
The gravitational force around the arm intensified dramatically. The earth split apart as chunks of rock, molten magma, debris, and even the elemental weapons Bewússtsein had launched at Evan were pulled into the swirling vortex.
Within moments, a colossal gravitational maelstrom formed, and Arthur hurled the maelstrom toward Bewússtsein without hesitation.
As it spiralled toward its target, Arthur pivoted on his heel, summoning Lostvayne back to his hand.
In one fluid motion, he sliced through beams of destructive light that curved around the edges of the maelstrom’s gravitational pull, attempting to strike him from behind.
As for the maelstrom he’d hurled at his opponent, Bewússtsein quickly conjured a wormhole, intending to warp it away.
But as the wormhole formed, an azure streak of light shot down from above, slicing the wormhole cleanly in two. The maelstrom collided with Bewússtsein unimpeded, erupting in a devastating explosion.
The azure streak—Jamie—lifted his sword from the ground with a wry smile.
"I can’t let myself be outdone by you two now, can I?"
He spoke while laughing as he avoided fleshy hands erupting from the ground, reaching to grab him.
Effortlessly evading the attacks, Jamie reached into his subspace with his left hand and retrieved an apple.
It wasn’t organic but rather an apple made entirely of blood.
"I was saving this to extend my time here, but... oh well."
He muttered with a shrug, before looking up to face elemental spears raining down toward him. Jamie sliced through them effortlessly before tossing the blood apple into his mouth and consuming it whole.
Immediately, Jamie’s heart thundered in his chest, beating twice as fast.
His ears elongated slightly, and a second pair of wolf-like ears sprouted atop his head. Fur grew over his upper arms, his nails sharpened into claws, and a tail extended from his lower back.
His canines elongated into vampiric fangs, while his pupils morphed into a sharp rhombus shape.
A faint ring of red light encircled his sky-blue irises, and blood began seeping from his sword-wielding hand. The crimson liquid dripped onto his blade, staining the night sky surface with a glowing, ominous sheen.
Jamie vanished, reappearing behind Bewússtsein, who was still staggered from Arthur’s devastating maelstrom. Bewússtsein forcefully turned to face Jamie’s attack, summoning a multi-layered barrier of cosmic energy in anticipation of a devastating strike. However, Jamie merely swung his sword once.
Despite the simplicity of the motion, the result was anything but ordinary—a projected cutting field manifested, forming a grid of spatial slashes. The grid tore through the air, severing the outstretched colossal arm of Bewússtsein’s flesh avatar into fragments.
At the same moment, Arthur and Evan charged towards the avatar from both sides, their swords infused with the energies of their main attributes.
Suddenly, Arthur had a flash of inspiration.
Instead of unleashing a Continent Split as planned, he infused his different energies into his blade—in the percentages required for Extreme Nothingness’ Third Variation: Chaos.
As the blade began to gleam silver, Arthur abruptly cancelled the technique.
Yet, the combined energies didn’t dissipate. Instead, they lingered within the blade.
A grin broke across Arthur’s face as he realized his idea’s success. Laughing, he launched himself forward, his blade slicing upward from the right base of Bewússtsein’s avatar to the left upper armpit.
The sword cut through the massive figure like a sword through butter, carving silvery arc through its flesh.
At the same time, Evan, who was at a higher elevation dashed downwards and activated a skill.
|World Sunder|
His voice echoed as he swung downward, his blade cleaving through the avatar from its right shoulder to its left base.
Together, their cross-shaped slash reduced the massive humanoid form into a collapsing heap of flesh.
Atop the crumbling avatar, Bewússtsein who was facing Jamie’s attacks was thrown off balance by the simultaneous assault, giving Jamie’s sword an opening to reach his chest.
In an instant, a cascade of over ten gashes appeared across his torso, spraying blood into the air. Jamie then manipulated the spilling blood, forging it into spears that pierced into Bewússtsein’s body and sent him crashing to the ground.
As the 500-meter-tall avatar collapsed, Evan noticed parts of it writhing unnaturally, prompting him to extend his hand towards it.
|Prismatic Flare|
The flesh avatar was consumed in a nuclear-like eruption of prismatic flames, obliterated into fragments that disintegrated under the devastating blast.
Jamie dove straight through the explosion to chase after the falling Bewússtsein, his body untouched by the flames as he activated spatial intangibility.
[Tsk!]
Bewússtsein clicked his tongue loudly, channelling life law energy to rapidly mend the wounds across his chest. He then extended both hands towards Jamie and bellowed.
[Ketten der Sterblichkeit!]
Dozens of chains infused with death energy erupted from the ground, coiling toward Jamie to ensnare him. But Jamie effortlessly teleported behind Bewússtsein, delivering a powerful kick that sent his opponent flying.
The impact tore Bewússtsein free from the head of the crumbling flesh avatar he had been tethered to, and Jamie’s eyes widened in realization as he caught sight of Bewússtsein’s body—what had previously been just an upper body now had fully-formed legs.
’So that’s it! He used the avatar as a cover while creating his legs!’
The truth exposed, Bewússtsein clicked his tongue again, visibly annoyed. Twisting in mid-air, he landed on his newly-formed feet, but as soon as he touched down, the ground beneath him erupted with spears of flames and ice.
With a stomp, he unleashed destruction energy, shattering the incoming attacks. But just as the dust settled, Arthur appeared behind him, slashing downward.
Reacting instantly, Bewússtsein ducked, evading the slash as it erased the space above him. He spun counterclockwise, sweeping his left leg toward Arthur’s legs, catching him off guard and knocking him off balance.
Seizing the moment, Bewússtsein clenched his right fist and used the momentum of his spin to launch a punch at Arthur. His fist connected with Arthur’s side before the young godslayer could react, sending him flying backwards.
However, Bewússtsein frowned as he looked at his fist.
’It felt like I hit metal...’
He didn’t linger on the thought—or rather, he didn’t have the luxury to—as Evan’s leg came crashing down, forcing him to roll away just in time to avoid the devastating axe kick.
The ground fractured under the force of Evan’s kick, geysers of prismatic flames erupting in violent bursts. Bewússtsein twisted his body in mid-air to avoid the blazing pillars, but Evan dashed at him in his unbalanced state, forcing him to summon a massive shield of law energy to block the boy’s slash.
The moment sparks of energy spread from Evan’s blade’s collision with the shield, the boy opened his mouth and unleashed a point-blank breath attack.
The searing flames shattered the shield and struck Bewússtsein squarely in the chest.
Before Bewússtsein could even be flung backwards by the force of the blast, Jamie appeared behind him, his sword slashing into Bewússtsein’s back, severing his spine in a single stroke.
Bewússtsein’s legs gave out instantly, his expression darkening as he quickly channelled spatial power to teleport away. However, Jamie forcefully scattered the spatial energy with his Authority, rendering the attempt futile.
Evan activated his Pierce Guard and Adamantine Might skills and thrust his sword forward once more. At the same time, Jamie’s blade crackled with azure flames and lightning, carving a lethal arc as he slashed at Bewússtsein’s back again.
Cornered by the simultaneous attacks, Bewússtsein’s expression twisted. With no other option, he activated his Candidate Sigil, pouring his energy into a self-sacrificial technique that fused the laws of Slaughter and Destruction in a reckless, self-harming burst.
[Zerstörende Apokalypse!]
