Chapter 588: Sensory Type Seals

"Vision... seal...?"

Evan muttered, the words slipping out as though he hadn’t even realized he’d spoken. His body shook, but then a sudden burst of laughter tore through the stillness of space, echoing across the void.

It wasn’t just any laughter—it was guttural, raw, and unsettling, as though something abnormal had stirred within him.

Evan’s laughter stopped just as abruptly as it had begun. His grey eyes gleamed with a light they hadn’t seen before.

When he spoke next, his voice wasn’t his normal voice. It was something infused with the power of laws, reverberating unnaturally with a weight that felt wrong.

A Faux True Voice.

¬Really...What are the odds? ¬

Arthur and Jamie froze, their expressions betraying the shock they felt.

[Releasing First and Second Seal Layer.]

[A. R. ■■■]

Those systemic, mechanical sounds rang out in Evan’s ears as the words were displayed before his eyes.

Then there was a violent snap—like a thread pulled too tight. And with it, the final seal broke.

A tidal wave of memories and realizations surged into Evan’s consciousness, drowning him in their intensity.

The mystery of why he had always doubted the existence of the Greater Universe became clear. It wasn’t natural.

Something—someone—had tampered with his mind...before he was even born!

That voice, the thing that had always whispered ’DON’T’ in the back of his head whenever he tried to question reality, had not been his own thoughts at all.

It was a manifestation of the ’Vision Seal’ that had just been released.

Something powerful had placed it there, caging his thoughts, chaining his memories—until now.

His knees went weak, and for a moment, he felt as though he might collapse into the void. Cosmic energy pulsed and whirled chaotically around him, reacting to the sudden unsealing of his mind.

"Oy! The Cosmic Energy around him!"

Arthur’s voice was distant. Jamie’s figure blurred at the edges of his vision.

"The law of sealing...?"

Jamie murmured, his sharp eyes narrowing. He replayed the words Evan had muttered earlier—Vision Seal. And then Evan’s strange desire to see a black hole surfaced in his mind.

The pieces fell into place and he immediately understood what was happening. But it couldn’t happen here, not in the chaotic void between galaxies.

’The ambient energy concentration here is too high. If he causes a disturbance...’

"Arthur, stop his time. I’m taking us back inside the Galaxy—now."

He had the power to stop time himself, but with what he was about to do—creating a Cosmic Gate across millions of light years while passing through a Galactic Barrier—it was too much to handle at once.

When Arthur saw the gathering spatial energy around Jamie, he figured out what Jamie was doing and without a word, he took action.

¬Pseudo Authority of Time: Temporal Stop!¬

Evan’s body froze like an image in a mirror.

With that, Jamie acted. His own cosmic energy flared, surging through the surrounding space like a roaring wave. His eyes glowed with a dull blue light, flickering with spatial power as he raised his hand and called out.

His eyes lit up with a dull glow and he called out.

Azure Void Authority: Return Cosmic Gate

In an instant, the space around them rippled as a shimmering portal tore open before them. Jamie had left spatial beacons across the Orithya Galaxy, allowing him to ’return’ at will to specific locations, no matter how far he had travelled.

The swirling void around them began to fold inward and with a burst of light, the trio vanished into the cosmic rift.

"Um...what’s going on?"

Such were the words Beatrix asked when she and Artemisia had come over after sensing Arthur and Jamie suddenly spawn in the same building, only to meet them laying an unconscious Evan on a bed.

"I’m quite clueless as well."

Arthur started speaking, then he turned towards Jamie, the one who clearly had the best idea of what was going on here and asked.

"But you know something, right?"

Jamie nodded with a sigh, a small chuckle escaping his lips.

"I’ve got a decent idea."

"Is it good or bad?"

When Artemisia asked this with narrowed eyes, Jamie shrugged and plopped down exhaustedly on a nearby couch before responding.

"It depends. I don’t know Evan’s full story so I don’t know if it would be good or bad for him."

True. Depending on whatever circumstances Evan had in the future, the results of the current situation could go either way.

"What I do know, is that it should NOT be stopped. He risks soul damage if anything interferes right now."

Beatrix’s eyes widened when she heard Jamie’s words. She certainly didn’t expect the stakes to suddenly go high all of a sudden.

"Wait, hold on. Soul damage? How did we get there?"

Arthur requested an explanation and Jamie gestured to the abundant law energy coalescing around Evan’s body before speaking.

"You can all sense the Sealing law energy, right?"

"""Yeah."""

The three teens responded in unison and Jamie nodded before continuing.

"Good.

The reason for this is because a seal that was placed on him is currently being released."

The mention of the word ’Seal’ reminded Arthur of Evan’s earlier mutter and recognition flashed in his eyes.

"He said something about a ’Vision Seal’! What’s that?"

Arthur had never heard of such a seal before, but Jamie had, which was why the man rushed to get them back into Orithya, despite the massive cosmic energy it cost him.

He couldn’t let Evan’s seal release outside the galaxy where the ambient energies—including law energies—were stronger and of higher quality, since there was the possibility of him taking damage from the powerful surges of law energy.

The concentration was something one needed to be a Deity to resist, after all.

"Anyway, there are a special class of seals called Sensory Seals.

They include Touch Seals, Taste Seals, Hearing Seals, Smell Seals, Awareness Seals and Vision Seals."

The man snapped his fingers and a hologram of the word ’Key’ appeared above Artemisia’s head, while the word ’Target’ appeared above Beatrix’s.

"Let’s take the Awareness Seal for example.

If Beatrix wanted to seal part of her power using an Awareness Seal, she would need to designate a third party—let’s say Artemisia—as the ’Key.’ The seal would be tied to Artemisia’s awareness of a specific topic. As long as Artemisia remains ’unaware’ of that topic, the seal stays intact.

Though the closer to the item being sealed it is, the stronger the sealing force."

Arthur crossed his arms, frowning as he followed along.

"And if Artemisia becomes aware?"

"Then the seal would begin to release, partially or fully, depending on her level of awareness. There’s a ’Minimum Awareness Threshold’ that she needs to reach for the Release to begin.

Full awareness means full release."

Hearing this explanation, Arthur rubbed his chin, thinking it over for a second before speaking.

"That sounds... pretty inefficient. I mean, you’re relying on someone else’s awareness to keep a seal intact. There are so many ways that could go wrong."

Jamie chuckled, amused by Arthur’s skepticism. He then proceeded to drop a line that shocked the shit out of the boy.

"Oh, I agree, it has its risks. But here’s the catch: most Sensory Seals have a sealing force comparable to ’True Name Seals.’"

"SAY WHAT?!"

He knew all too well the power of True Name Seals—he had one on himself at that very moment.

The fact that the seal he had just dismissed as flawed had a sealing force in the same class as a True Name Seal completely threw him.

"Yeah, that level of power. Vision Seals, especially, can be tied to very specific sequences of visual stimuli, like the one Evan was unknowingly following.

When he mentioned wanting to see the black hole. That was likely the last key"

For Artemisia and Beatrix, there was so much of this conversation lost in translation, especially the part about Black Holes, but Arthur and Jamie didn’t pause to give them an explanation.

"And here’s the kicker—you can make someone a ’Key’ to your seal without them even knowing it. The only requirement is that their karma is tied to yours, so you can’t just pick a random person, but the key can remain totally unaware of their role."

Arthur’s brow furrowed as he processed that, his initial opinion of Sensory Seals shifting.

"So they’re not as easy to break as I thought..."

Jamie gave a small nod, continuing his explanation.

"Exactly. Take a Touch Seal, for instance. You could set the condition to something as specific as, ’They need to touch a star-shaped rock at the bottom of the ocean on a planet that’s entirely water, orbiting a neutron star.’

If the thing sealed were memories, what are the odds of that person ever encountering such a rock?"

"I think I get the whole business with these seals now."

The logic behind the seemingly obscure seals finally clicked into place, and Arthur nodded, a newfound respect for their intricate design growing within him.

Arthur obviously did not know this, but the seal that was on Alexia Vladi’s ’Watcher’, ’Kelly’, was one of such seals.

A ’Hearing Seal’.

If someone with sufficient karmic ties to ’Kelly’ were to speak out a string of words—Her full father’s name—then the Seal on her Progenitor Dragonslayer powers and memories would be temporarily lifted.

(Refer to Chapters 174 & 175)

Evan’s seal, though, was of a different breed: A Vision Seal.

In his case, the boy needed to gaze upon five cosmological objects in a precise sequence—his home galaxy, a rogue star, a quasar, a nebula, and, finally, a black hole.

Vision Seals demanded at least five distinct ’Targets,’ and Evan had unknowingly triggered them all, one by one.

Hence why he asked ’What are the odds?’, right after.

"Okay, so whatever was sealed on Evan is being released now..."

Arthur muttered, his gaze drifting to Evan’s unconscious form. The room settled into a strange silence as all four of them—Arthur, Jamie, Beatrix, and Artemisia—wondered the same thing.

What, exactly, was being unsealed? Was it memories, power, or something far more mysterious?
