Chapter 580: Crossover Logs, Log 6: Jack McEnda III
Crossover Log: McEnda III.
Jack McEnda III.
Everyone calls him by his last name so much, that very few people even remember the man’s given name is ’Jack’.
Sigesi is just about the only one I’ve seen use it, and that’s because she’s his fiancée. She also only does it in non-official settings.
I’ve done a Log on Evan, Jamie, Artemisia Beatrix, Alvey and now McEnda III.
Somehow, these logs are turning into some sort of tales of demons and gods. Or gods and demons? Doesn’t matter which comes first as far as you get the reference.
I wonder how many people would get that reference though.
Anyway, here’s ’Arthur’s log on Jack McEnda III’.
From my perspective, McEnda III is a mix of ambition and the weight of legacy.
Hailing from the prestigious McEnda Archdemon bloodline, his family history looms large over him—his father, Demon King McEnda II, and his grandfather, Demon Emperor McEnda I, both dominating forces in the universe.
There’s something uniquely intimidating about being the child of a Demon King, especially one like his father who’s got a title like the ’Darkness that Corrodes All’.
Growing up in the shadow of such a figure must have been both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, he’s inherited an immense amount of Darkness-attributed power, and his high affinity for it gives him access to abilities that most demons can only dream of.
On the other hand, he has the constant expectation of matching, or even surpassing, his father.
For a young demon like him, the pressure to live up to those expectations must be suffocating. The man is barely in his fifties, so you obviously can’t expect him to be anywhere near his 100k+-year-old father and million-year-old grandfather, but when have people’s expectations ever been reasonable?
I guess he does have the fire to not just match but surpass them, but that’s clearly gonna take a while.
Although Alvey’s ridiculous level of tactical acumen sometimes overshadows him, McEnda III is a strategist in his own right.
He didn’t reach the level of General by riding on his family’s legacy, after all.
Though between him and Alvey, McEnda plays the easygoing, affable friend, the way he shifts from casual banter to serious war strategies is impressive.
It’s almost amusing how often he throws out playful lines, often making jokes and lightening the mood in tense situations. Yet when necessary, his mind sharpens like the blades he commands.
Titles? McEnda carries many: ’Heir to the McEnda Household’, ’Hellfire Marshal’, ’Umbral Overlord’.
There’s his ’Demon of Darkness’ title that’s a direct counterpart to Alvey’s ’Demon of Light’.
Each title is like a reminder of his future potential, built not just on his prestigious bloodline but on his hard work and natural talent.
Deep down, the man may want to carve out his own name, distinct from the legacies of his father and grandfather, but that gonna be hard since it’s undeniable that their achievements shape him.
McEnda’s circumstances on Aramis are much like Alvey’s. He’s here to conquer a Prime World to add to his home planet’s list of Prime Worlds that always go missing.
As a General, he oversees the conquest of Gledea with Alvey, and he also serves as the Premier for the south-western part of the continent that has been conquered already.
Relationships? Let’s talk about them. His friendship with Alvey is certainly a constant in his life. Alvey’s seriousness is tempered by McEnda’s easygoing side.
Together, they’re the pair that have brought Aramis’ strongest forces to their knees time and time again.
His fiancée, Sigesi, is another cornerstone. Their relationship is more than just a political alliance—it’s clear they share a deep bond.
According to other High-Rank demons I’ve spoken with, their relationship is one of those rare matches where they complement each other on the battlefield and in life.
Though he doesn’t show it, the man is certainly head over heels for her.
Alvey would rather believe that the sun is green and Aramis is a square than believe McEnda isn’t in love with Sigesi. Speaking of square planets, we never did figure out how to tweak that, did we?
Well, I’ve gotten a Gravity Pseudo-Authority so I’d try checking it one of these days. Probably when I get back from Space.
As for his other relationships, McEnda views Jamie almost the way any Demon would see a Demon King, with a mixture of respect and caution.
Jamie’s power is something McEnda doesn’t take lightly, and while they get along since Jamie is close with his father, McEnda is fully aware that Jamie exists on a different level.
With Beatrix and Artemisia, while he often maintains a friendly demeanour, he often lets Alvey handle them. After all, they’re here because of Alvey.
Then there’s Evan. To be honest, while McEnda holds some curiosity, given the boy’s absurd number of skills and unique situation, he doesn’t care too much about what Evan does or where he goes.
Guess he trusts Alvey to handle all that.
Level, Weapons, Skills, and Battle Power: McEnda is like Alvey, a Superior Transcendent who seems like he might exuviate anytime soon.
He needs to end the war before that though, as the moment he surpasses Level 1000, he won’t be able to interfere again.
I’ve personally not seen it, but I highly doubt that his ’Hellfire Marshal’ title is just for show, so he must have some sort of demonic fire ability that’s pretty broken.
’Umbral Overlord’ is rather self-explanatory—the man constantly radiates Darkness law energy and he has a Pseudo-Authority too.
That Darkness of his has a ’Corrosion’ attribute and the corrosion isn’t limited to the body—it attacks the soul itself, a trait inherited from his Archdemon bloodline.
Most of the time, special powers like that usually get weaker when passed down through generations, but I doubt that’s the case with McEnda.
His darkness induces debuffs on enemies, from vitality-draining curses to hallucinations of death, affecting even higher-level beings.
McEnda’s Darkness law abilities support Alvey’s Light law powers, and I’ve heard they got some combination technique called ’Darkness Before the Dawn’. It’s apparently powerful enough that the word ’cataclysmic’ seems like a misnomer.
Haven’t seen it in person, though.
His weapon of choice is a staff, making him a seem mage type—until you get in close and he pummels you using his fists and some strange martial arts.
Looking forward, I can see McEnda continuing to rise just like Alvey. He’ll likely push the boundaries of his own limitations, not content with merely following in his family’s footsteps.
He’s got the power, and the talent to ascend to the highest ranks of power in this Universe, and if things go as I expect, one day he’ll rival even his legendary father and Grandfather.
This concludes my log on McEnda III.
◇ ◇ ◇
This concludes my Crossover Logs.
Did you enjoy reading them? Well, I did, so your opinion doesn’t really matter.
I was only making Logs for the Key Pieces in the Upcoming Nexus Event, so no logs for Sigesi and anyone else you may have wanted logs on.
Is there even any other person that important?
Rather than that question with an obvious negative answer, my hands hurt from making these things.
That’s Six Logs of at least a thousand words each.
I need to have a word with the guy who made 1000 words the minimum limit!
Anyway, we’re going back to the Main Story after this. With my trip with Evan and Jamie to Space coming up next.
We haven’t told Evan when we want to go to space yet, though.
After that, we’d make a drop by on Aidos, then I’d have Jamie come over and deal with that Titan god’s divine spark for me.
Then, I’d need to find a way to replicate that Slashing Variation of Extreme Nothingness so I can become a Transcendent.
Who wants to bet on how high my level would go when I hit Transcendence? I bet at least Level 950. If I win, I call dibs on any divine sparks you may have lying around.
I’ve come a long way in such a short time, haven’t I? A year ago, I was still busy thinking about the ’Third Magic’ and now I’m thinking about Transcendence.
After achieving Transcendence, I guess I’d just put my focus into preparing for that Nexus Event that’s been looming over my head.
When I’m done with that, I’m getting the fuck out of this Universe. To come back later, of course.
Now then, let me take a page from the Author’s book
"Thanks for your understanding and I look forward to you continuing on my Godslayer’s Legend."
"This has been your Protagonist, Arthur Vaughn.
Over and Out! ✌🏽"
