The Consensus in the Valmone Universe was that the Book of Truth Replica was indestructible. Race Kings had struck it with full power and they couldn’t so much as scratch it.
Demon Kings had tried to destroy it on all the worlds it had appeared on, but they always failed.
Yet, to everyone’s astonishment, the Book of Truth Replica had just been obliterated.
Not only the Demon Kings but also Angels, Gods, Humans, Elves, Dragons, Devils, Giants, Dwarves, and numerous other Race Kings, who had tuned in to watch Toverus’s Final War after hearing of Arthur’s black hole creation (AGSD), were left flummoxed.
The entire spectrum of Deities watched in disbelief as the once-thought-unbreakable artifact was reduced to nothing...by a mortal!
The reason behind this unprecedented destruction was startlingly simple: Cosmic Energy.
The Book of Truth Replica had been forged by the Creation Authority of the Progenitor Angel, imbued with Cosmic Energy.
Only an attack infused with Cosmic Energy could shatter it.
Thus, no matter how mighty one’s assault might be—whether it could collapse stars or rend galaxies—it was futile if it lacked Cosmic Energy.
The moment this occurred, Jamie tapped the armrest of his throne and immediately sent a message to a Demon Lord he had on standby.
"Send them in."
Immediately, Spatial Gates opened up within Toverus and dozens of High-Rank Demons emerged.
To the Gozonian Army Generals on Toverus, these newly appearing demons were all familiar faces. They were the demons who had been banished by the Book of Truth Replica in the past and were unable to enter Toverus for as long as the Book remained on that planet.
Now that Arthur had destroyed it, the cosmic energy barrier it created to keep them out naturally faded, and they could enter and leave at will!
These High-Rank demons were now sent along with their armies to bolster the forces of the demons on Toverus, spelling disaster for its defenders.
The Demon Kings saw this and all eyes turned towards Jamie.
Jamie seemed to have had these demons on standby. The problem was that most of them had been reassigned to worlds far from Toverus, some even outside the galaxy.
The fact that Jamie had them ready could only mean one thing.
"You knew It could be destroyed..."
McEnda II said, his voice laced with suspicion. Jamie simply nodded.
"Even the Universe itself can be destroyed. Much less a mere book."
Jamie replied, his lips curling into an evil grin as he imagined how livid Syndra must be by now, while Malorum, standing nearby, asked the question on everyone’s mind.
"Why didn’t you say it if you know it could be destroyed?"
"You never asked."
Jamie said with a shrug, silencing the Demon Kings as the realization dawned on them. They actually never asked Jamie!
It was already a universal belief that the Book of Truth Replica was indestructible before Jamie arrived, and no one had thought to question him about it.
But Jamie had always known it wasn’t indestructible; he simply never bothered to destroy it since it had never crossed his path. He wasn’t going to go out of his way to seek it out and obliterate it.
"Next time, you’d ask the guy who could send a portion of his soul from his universe across trillions of light years if he had any foreign universe information.
But for now..."
He gestured toward the hologram displaying the ongoing battle and continued.
"Let’s return our focus to the massacre about to happen."
◇ ◇ ◇
Jamie’s words were no exaggeration. In fact, they were an understatement.
The final war of Toverus continued to its bitter end.
The defenders, once holding their ground valiantly, began to lose momentum with the arrival of more high-ranking demons. The scales tipped dramatically in favour of Gozon, their forces bolstered by the new demonic reinforcements.
Arthur’s Progenitor Authority experienced a surge in potency, further weakening the gods and divines of Toverus. As the battle raged on, Arthur’s overall power surged, elevating him to a level where he was a Transcendent in all but name.
Evan fought his own battles on battlefields far away from where Arthur was and by the time the day reached its end, Evan had reached Level 755.
The carnage of war was unimaginable, destruction spreading across the land as the Toverusian resistance was pushed to the brink of annihilation.
With the new demonic forces overwhelming their defences, the resistance’s hope dwindled.
Angel and god kings scrambled to send reinforcements, but their efforts were in vain. By the time they arrived, the tide had already turned, and it was too late to save Toverus from being subjugated by Gozon.
◇ ◇ ◇
The evening sky was stained with the deep hues of twilight, tinged by the crimson of spilt blood.
Every battlefield was littered with the remains of the fallen, their lifeless bodies strewn across the war-torn landscapes.
Blood pooled in the dirt, reflecting the last light of the day, and amidst the desolation, Arthur sat atop a jagged rock, one of the fragments of the meteors he had called down to decimate the gods earlier.
On either side of him, two swords were stabbed into the ground—Lostvayne and Celestia—both drenched in golden blood.
Evan approached from behind, his uniform stained with the blood of countless soldiers, and he spoke with a weary sigh.
"I feel icky."
Arthur glanced over at him, his expression one of shared exhaustion.
"Tell me about it. I’m gonna soak in a hot spring for at least a day after this. Gotta get all this blood off me."
Evan couldn’t help but chuckle at Arthur’s response, a fleeting thought of his fiancée crossing his mind before he refocused on the present.
"I left them to finalize the war themselves. They’re converging in on the Toverus Resistance and though the Angel kings behind them are sending reinforcements, it’s not gonna help much."
Arthur’s voice was tinged with a mix of both exhaustion and indifference. Evan nodded in understanding, pulling a chair out of his inventory and taking a seat beside Arthur.
He gazed up at the sky, a sigh escaping his lips.
"What a life..."
Arthur raised an eyebrow, glancing at Evan with mild curiosity.
"The heck? Why do you sound like someone who wants to unalive himself?"
Evan chuckled softly at the question, shaking his head and saying it wasn’t like that.
"At one point, my entire life was limited to just one planet.
Then I went to a second and spent about four years there before getting yeeted back in time to a third.
From there, I ended up on a planet-sized moon, then a fourth actual planet.
Twenty years I spent between just two planets. Then, in the span of four months, I somehow visited five different planets."
He paused for a moment, counting on his fingers before laughing at the absurdity of it all.
"Heck, this one makes three planets in twenty days... Wild!"
Arthur joined in the laughter, shaking his head at the craziness of Evan’s life. Still laughing, he fished out a tablet from his subspace, scrolling through it before handing it to Evan.
"Not as wild as seven planets in seven days."
"Seven WHAT?!"
Evan’s eyes widened in shock, his exclamation echoing across the battlefield and Arthur’s laughter only grew louder as he scrolled through his gallery, showing Evan the pictures he, Layla, and Nicole had taken during their whirlwind tour of the Onerth Galaxy.
"The four of us went to this guy’s home."
Arthur began, pointing at a weary-looking Edward who was half-dead on the floor after his brother’s training.
"While he was being trained by his brother in some secret technique, the three of us decided to visit a different planet every day."
Evan glanced at the photos on the tablet, his eyes landing on a picture of a green-eyed girl and her purple-eyed friend, Layla and Nicole.
In nearly every shot, Arthur could be seen goofing around in the background, his antics adding a touch of light-heartedness to their adventures.
One picture showed Arthur princess-carrying Nicole, both of them laughing as they sprinted away from a swarm of killer monkeys.
Another had him fist-bumping a giant gorilla, both of them grinning as if they were lifelong friends.
In yet another, Layla was locked in a tense gun duel with a group of space cowboys, her eyes gleaming with competitive fire.
"Remember that demigod necromancer Idrilla brought back?"
Arthur asked, his tone casual as he scrolled to another picture and Evan nodded, remembering the poor soul Arthur erased...twice.
"We met him on the seventh planet."
As Evan continued to flip through the pictures, Arthur couldn’t help but smile at the memories they evoked.
For a moment, the blood-soaked battlefield faded into the background, replaced by the warmth of his friendship with the two in the photos and the thrill of their explorations.
’Yep, I’m definitely going back home in November.’
Arthur certainly never expected himself to feel homesick, but here he was. He found it laughable, considering the events of the past 8 months.
"Eight months and 20 days.
I set a goal to become an Inferior Sovereign. And here I am on the cusp of Inferior Transcendent."
When Arthur said this, Evan glanced up at him and used his Full Appraisal. Since Arthur switched off the concealment ring, it worked without issues, displaying Arthur’s status.
