Chapter 532: Not-So-Unexpected Guest [Random Bonus]
Nameless Region
Barrier Area
Hell Universe
January 13th
Year 718 of the 50th General Calendar
While Arthur was dealing with a certain unfortunate dragonslayer, his home Universe was receiving a not-so-unexpected guest.
Well, Arthur wouldn’t have seen him as unexpected, but for the rest of the Universe, this guest was a literal bolt out of the blue.
In this nameless region filled with uninhabitable planets, the ambient cosmic energy rapidly began condensing as if drawn together by an overwhelming gravity.
The swirling vortex of energy grew denser, spinning faster until it reached a critical mass. Then, without warning, space itself fractured open into a rift from which a man emerged.
He had eyes of molten gold and similar coloured hair, with a chiselled face marked by a neatly kept beard on his chin.
A gold chain watch gleamed on his wrist, catching the faint light of the distant stars. He wore no expression as he surveyed the area around him to see where he had ended up.
Compared to the colossal scale of planets and stars, around him, the figure was small, but his presence was titanic in every sense of the word.
The moment his body fully entered the Universe, all the High-Tier Deity Realm existences felt his presence.
It was as if the Universe was informing them that something had entered into it.
Something dangerous.
Within a few minutes, spatial gates began appearing all over the area, and the Universe’s powerhouses made their appearances.
The Main Entities all dropped whatever they were occupied with and rushed over as fast as possible. Devildom Nobles and Military officers did not hesitate to tear through space with all their might to get to the scene.
At the forefront of all those appearing to surround this man, was the Master of the Hell Universe.
King Diablo.
The tall silver-haired man emerged from a spatial gate, followed by his two children. His dark eyes focused on the golden-haired man intruding into his domain, and with a single glance, he discovered what this man was.
Holding out his right hand, he summoned his rule breaker and pointed it at the man before speaking.
State your name and purpose...titan.
Diablo’s words sent ripples of surprise through the crowd of Deities present, and the newly arriving ones who inferred the situation from their peers were also shocked.
Certain races in the Cosmos were inherently more powerful than others, and one of these extraordinarily powerful races was the Titan race.
As such, their wariness towards this man which was already sky-high due to his threatening presence went even higher.
With every second that passed, thousands of more Hell Universe Deities showed up and joined the crowd.
However, this man ignored all these Deities and looked around.
His gaze seemed to be searching for something and he acted like he couldn’t see the Deities until a spatial gate suddenly appeared beside Diablo.
Unlike the others, this gate...was made with cosmic energy.
The man instantly snapped his gaze in its direction and when he saw the figure that emerged from it, recognition flashed in his eyes.
Parting his lips, he spoke in a deep resonant voice.
So, this is where you’ve been all these years...
This new entrant was a tall man with short white hair and a face that looked as if he was in his fifties. He had visible wrinkles on his hollow face, which made him seem gentle in appearance, but his eyes were as sharp as an eagle’s.
...Belphegor.
In response to the titan’s words, the ’Grand Duke of Sloth’ responded.
I simply returned to my homeland, Lord Hyperion.
?!
Diablo’s eyes narrowed when he heard the name Belphegor called. Not only him but Cattleya and Creusery as well, had similar reactions.
That was because they realised who this titan was from Belphegor’s words.
He wasn’t just any titan, but the Progenitor of them all!
As for Cattleya, her mind wandered even further than this. She remembered speaking with Hades many years ago and hearing him mention the name ’Hyperion’. However, he was not referring to the titan in front of her, but to one of his uncles.
The Olympian Titan of the Sky.
’It’s no coincidence that they have the same name...’
Cattleya arrived at this conclusion because of what she had discovered from her Grandfather’s Vestige.
Lucifer moved the Hell Universe to this location because he was trying to hide it in a place where his enemies wouldn’t dare snoop around. In a place where the ’Eternals’ had dealings.
From the hints he gave, the nearby Olympus Universe was where the Eternals had business, and knowing Hyperion’s other identity as the leader of the Eternals’ No. 1 enemies, she found it very fishy that a Titan in Olympus bore the same name.
But regardless of her suspicions, they needed to find out what brought Hyperion here first, and it seemed Belphegor was the only one the man was willing to pay any mind.
The Devil in question was about to speak when he sensed a spatial distortion and narrowed his eyes, just in time for another familiar face to make an appearance.
It was a tall man of over six feet 3 inches, with hair as dark as the night and purple eyes swirling with spatial power.
Oh...this is quite the crowd.
He spoke when he saw the Deities, and turning his gaze to Hyperion, he continued.
What a pleasant surprise, Lord Hyperion.
...you’re here as well?
Unlike Belphegor, Hyperion didn’t seem pleased about this man’s presence but the man didn’t mind at all.
I was given orders by Lord Nash.
That was all the man—Ancient Breed Drifter Larry—said in response to Hyperion’s question. Before he could say anymore, Hyperion turned to Belphegor and questioned the Devil.
Does Quinn know you’re here?
Lady Quinn is aware.
Belphegor confirmed that the Progenitor Devil’s awareness of his presence in the Hell Universe, before continuing a second later.
What brings you here, Lord Hyperion?
He asked the million-dollar question that everyone wanted the answer to. Instead of answering, however, Hyperion simply gazed around and when his eyes turned in a particular direction, his expression morphed into one of surprise.
I see...so that’s what Ranus did.
Belphegor narrowed his eyes as he understood exactly what it was that Hyperion had just discovered. The man’s gaze had peered through space-time and past the walls of the Varona realm and had seen Lucifer there.
Knowing the circumstances behind the Devil King’s demise, he quickly figured that the ’Eternal of Space’ had done something under the nose of the ’Eternal of Knowledge’.
’Akasha is definitely unaware. Otherwise, there’s no way he’d let Lucifer be revived...’
Hyperion thought this, before lightly frowning as he noted that the person he was after was not in Varona.
The reason for the Titan’s presence here wasn’t hard to guess if one thought about it.
He was here for Arthur.
When Arthur gained Lostvayne, he appeared before Hyperion and asked a question that the Titan couldn’t get out of his mind. Celestia’s presence also caught Hyperion’s attention as the Sword was present with Arthur, even though Arthur’s consciousness was the only thing that should have been in that dimension.
So, he locked onto the coordinates that Arthur had come from and used them to find the Hell Universe’s location.
It’s just that the Cosmos was a ridiculously big place, and Hyperion had important business in another Dimension, so it took him quite some time to locate Hell.
Where is he? Lostvayne’s wielder?
His question towards Belphegor revealed the reason he was present, and Cattleya didn’t like this one bit.
She wasn’t aware that Arthur had encountered the man before, so to her, a Progenitor suddenly showed up looking for her son for reasons she did not know of.
His motives were related to Lostvayne, but besides that, they were completely unknown.
And why exactly do you wish to find out where he is?
That’s not something you need to know, child of Lucifer.
Hyperion replied to Diablo’s words with a dismissive tone, but Diablo wasn’t one to back down so easily.
You are looking for a denizen of my Universe, under my rule but you refuse to give a reason why?
...
Diablo and Hyperion stared at each other for some moments and the tension in the space spiked rapidly.
Suddenly, the ambient cosmic energy wrapped around their bodies. Not just them, but Cattleya, Creusery and Belphegor as well.
Without a word, all five of them were teleported out of the area and right into a dimension four of them found familiar.
They were in a throne hall of some sort and seated atop the throne placed on an elevated platform was a man seated with his legs crossed. He wore a casual office shirt and trousers and had a black blazer resting on his back.
His crimson-red eyes stared at the group and a wry smile played on his face as he spoke casually.
"Long time no see, Hyperion. Did you get with her yet?"
"..."
It took every inch of Hyperion’s self-control to prevent his brows from twitching in annoyance when he heard the latter half of Lucifer’s statement. The Devil King had hit him right where it hurt...on purpose.
"You’re beginning to remind me why Akasha wanted you dead at all costs..."
He muttered this under his breath, while Diablo and Cattleya questioned Lucifer’s decision to bring Hyperion into this dimension.
"It’s so he can find the answers he wants.
The person he’s after is not in this Universe."
Moving his gaze from his son and granddaughter, Lucifer faced Hyperion and continued.
"I’m sure you can already tell that since you cannot sense your creation."
Imaginary question marks orbited the heads of the Vaughns present, and Lucifer glanced at Diablo’s sword in his hand before explaining in a very Lucifer-like way.
"Trying to attack him with that sword is pointless, as that blade can never harm its creator regardless of how much power you put into it."
"?!"
Diablo’s eyes widened with understanding. Hyperion was the creator of the powerful weapons known as Rule Breakers, though this wasn’t common knowledge.
The Eternals didn’t want people to know that the weapons they gave to Candidates were created by the ’Aggressor of Creation’, after all.
Unfortunately, they had already begun the practice of giving them out long before they discovered Hyperion was their creator since the titan kept mum about this until someone tried attacking him with one of them.
"Where is he?"
"Dunno."
Lucifer shrugged in response to Hyperion’s question and seeing the Devil King’s expression, Hyperion sighed.
’He definitely knows.’
Hyperion turned around and created a cosmic gate before speaking.
"If he is not here then there is no point in me being present."
With those words, he stepped into the cosmic Gate and left this Dimension, however, he did not leave the Hell Universe immediately.
He stopped by Aeturn for a minute, dropping something with the Consciousness of the Apex World before ripping open space and finally leaving Hell.
The moment he left, the threatening feeling assailing the senses of all the Universe’s High-Tier Deities disappeared, resulting in many relieved sighs.
