Chapter 529: Divine Draconic Intervention

Evan swung the blade once more and the icy wave met the tidal wave, transforming all the torrents of water surging towards him into giant horizontal ice pillars, freezing the entire tidal wave in a spectacular display of elemental control.

’Elemental Surge. Elemental Shield.’

His first skill released omnidirectional bursts of ice and flames, creating counter-forces that diminished the effects of the hurricanes and lightning strikes, while the second created spherical barriers around him that protected him from the remaining lightning and wind.

But despite their defences, the Hero kept up his relentless onslaught, throwing disasters upon disasters at them.

Seeing as they could block each individual disaster, the Hero decided it was best to combine all the disasters he could think of into a single cataclysmic maelstrom—one Arthur had NO intentions of letting him release.

"Evan! On 3!"

Arthur shouted, his eyes behind his mask glowing as he used his Pseudo-Authority to halt time around the Hero for a second.

"3!"

"The heck, dude?!"

Evan questioned with a laugh as Arthur skipped the first 2 numbers and went straight to the third, but it didn’t stop him from activating his blink skill and teleporting behind the Hero.

Simultaneously, Arthur used spatial law energy to teleport behind the Hero and when the Aramisian was broken out of the time stop, he sensed his opponents’ presences behind him.

"Wha?!"

He quickly tried to detonate the ’Disaster Convergence’ hovering above him, but Arthur and Evan had already used their techniques.

¬Extreme Nothingness! ¬

[Prismatic Vortex!]

Arthur’s sword struck first, thrusting his blade forward and ripping through the cosmic energy barriers surrounding the Hero’s body.

His Extreme Nothingness used the power of his Null (channelled through destruction law power) to obliterate his target on a sub-atomic level, reducing them to ’nothing’ while the Time power accelerated it so it happened almost instantly.

The Cosmic Energy barriers of the Hero did a good job of dampening the power of the strike, but it was no match for the overwhelming power. The barrier shattered, splintering into fragments of light before being consumed by the remaining power of Arthur’s attack which was enough to deplete his durability and attack both his body and soul.

With his durability out of the way, Evan’s Prismatic Vortex could shine in all its kaleidoscopic hues. The swirling vortex of prismatic flames exploded forward, and the two attacks converged on the Hero one after the other.

Arthur’s first, then Evan’s a split second later.

The impact was...cataclysmic?

An explosion of energy erupted in the sky, a blinding flash of purple-silver and prismatic light that illuminated the entirety of Plomux High Command.

Even Alvey and the others who were fighting the other two Aramisian Heros and the Transcendent dragonslayers all saw the surge of power covering the sky, and all the High-Rank Demons were dumbfounded for a second as they sensed Arthur’s familiar power.

As for Alvey, his vision glitched and for a few seconds, he ’saw’ the cosmic energy exploding, making him the only person who truly understood the devastation happening in the sky.

The Hero that Arthur and Evan tag-teamed was propelled thousands of kilometres through the air, his form a blur as he hurtled away from the site of the explosion. The force of the impact sent shockwaves rippling through the atmosphere, causing the very fabric of space to tremble.

The Hero crashed down onto the ground in the middle of another battlefield, with a landing reminiscent of a meteor strike, creating a massive crater upon impact.

The sheer force annihilated all soldiers within a five-kilometre radius, regardless of whether their allegiance lay with Gozon or Aramis. The ground quaked, and debris flew in all directions, lasting for close to a minute before the dust finally settled.

As for the Aramisian Hero, he lay on his face in the centre of the crater, his body broken and battered.

The cosmic energy flowing into him from the planet flickered and waned, as his soul was damaged so much by Arthur and Evan’s combined attacks that it couldn’t hold the power anymore.

Evan’s prismatic flames still burned him all over, and Arthur’s silvery Null still continued to eat at his existence, slowly disintegrating tiny bits of his flesh every second.

Space warped and distorted for a second, with Arthur and Evan appearing above the Hero in the next.

"Yikes...

Arthur, I think we did a lot of friendly fire..."

"I know. Alvey and McEnda aren’t gonna let me hear the end of this."

Arthur scratched his head as he spoke. He had aimed to knock the Hero deep into Plomux High Command, but he didn’t expect that the Demons had already broken in this deep and were engaging the Aramisian soldiers, so he ended up wiping out both sides.

"Great, just great."

The godslayer facepalmed while Evan walked over to the fallen Hero and turned his body over, opening his eyelids with his hands and maintaining eye contact with him for a few seconds.

Disaster Genesis Acquired

Unique Skills require three skill slots.

As soon as that notification appeared in Evan’s field of view, he let the Hero’s body fall back to the ground and turned towards Arthur intending to speak.

However, his words never left his throat as his Danger Sense skill blared an alarm in his head, informing him of not one but two sources of danger.

The wounded Hero on the floor raised his broken arm and fired a blast of cosmic energy towards Evan, whilst a Red Dragon descended from the clouds above and roared, releasing a full-powered breath attack.

Reacting instantly, Evan used Stout Guardian to create a giant shield-bearing knight construct that interposed itself between him and the blast while simultaneously activating Elemental Shield, conjuring a protective barrier.

This was done to buy him time to set a location and teleport away, but the overwhelming speed and power allowed it to tear through both the Stout Guardian and Elemental shield and strike Evan a split-second before he teleported.

Arthur, who was beside him, teleported away in a flash, reappearing beside the head of the descending dragon in the sky.

Clenching his fist, he threw a full-powered punch, amplifying the gravity power in it by 25x at the point of impact.

Arthur’s fist met the dragon’s skull with a force that distorted space, crushing the dragon’s skull with an audible shatter. The broken skull bone fragments tore into its own brain and one particularly large piece pierced out the other side of its head.

The Level 890 creature’s roar was abruptly cut off as its life ended in a single, devastating strike and its lifeless body hurtled through the air and crashed into the distance.

After ending its life, Arthur returned to the ground beside Evan and saw the boy healing the wounds on his arms that he had sustained from the aether blast.

His Demon Army uniform was burnt off and his skin was scalded, with his forearm guards taking some damage as well.

"Thank goodness these things have self-repair..."

He muttered this to himself as he engulfed his arms with the green flames of life, raising his gaze to look at the person responsible for the damage.

When he looked up, he met not the sight of the wounded Hero but another Red Divine Dragon who literally appeared out of thin air in front of him to block him and Arthur from getting to the Hero.

"Oh...I see. The Planet saw its Hero was going to lose so it sent the other defence mechanisms..."

Heroes were the most important Defence Mechanisms of a Planet, but they were NOT the only ones. These Divine Dragons were some of the others it had.

’So they’re like the Iremith Family, huh? But why do they all use Dragons? I understand Dragons are a strong race and all, but dragonslayers exist.

Oh well, that’s not my problem.’

Evan stopped his thoughts there and focused on the Dragon in front of him. Arthur was about to summon the Divine Dragon he had subjugated, Romrintet; to fight this one when a third Dragon swooped down from the sky and grabbed the wounded Hero they were fighting before taking to the skies and running away with him.

"..." "..."

Arthur and Evan were flummoxed at this sight.

""Hey! We weren’t done ’beating up/experimenting on’ that guy yet!!!""

The two of them shouted out questionable words as they charged after the black-scaled dragon who was running away with their prey, but the Red Dragon in front of them moved to stop them.

The two boys simply teleported behind the dragon, ignoring it as they charged after the black dragon. However, the Red Dragon did not ignore them as they did to it.

Turning around, the Red Dragon used ’Everlasting Chains’, a skill Evan also had, which was good at restraining targets.

Red magic power chains erupted from the ground and shot towards the both of them, holding their legs down and pulling them down to the ground.

’Annihilation Sphere.’

The sphere of destruction energy expanding from Arthur’s body turned the chains to dust before they reached the ground, so Arthur landed on his two feet and turned towards the dragon with a glare.

Although his mask prevented the dragon from seeing the annoyed look on its face, it instinctively felt existential danger when Arthur looked at it.

¬Get out of my way, Lizard. ¬

With those six words, Arthur extended his right arm, silver energy surging through it. The energy coalesced into an orb at his palm, and faster than the dragon could comprehend the danger, Arthur unleashed the power of his Null in a hypersonic beam.

Gravity law energy pinned the dragon to the ground, immobilizing it, so the beam struck true without any impediment.

The creature’s scales, flesh, and bones disintegrated into nothingness in mere seconds, leaving no trace behind.

[Level Up.]

After deleting the dragon from existence, Arthur turned forward and saw Evan who had caught up to the black dragon, descending from above as a streak of golden light that crashed into the airborne dragon and knocked it to the ground.

’How did he catch u-Oh...I forgot I buffed him.’
