Chapter 521: Revelations Before Battle

High Command: East Gate

Khever Region

Plomux-Central

May 22nd

531st Divine Year

"I’m just asking though..."

"Asking what?"

Arthur questioned Evan who started saying this as he glanced at the two Demonesses who had just thrown flirtatious smiles at him.

"...do you have any intentions of responding to their rather obvious advances?"

"Oh, nahh."

Arthur replied casually and glanced around, looking at the tens of thousands of soldiers riding in around them.

The two were on ’warhorses’ riding towards the Plomux High Command from the East side, with the goal of drawing out the Aramisian Army stationed there.

Leading this Corps of the Gozonian Army was the same Lieutenant General who had led the attack on Cheigh in January, Aravae Magmyar.

Arthur was here because he had thrown a blind dart at a map of Plomux Central and it landed on the east, while Evan followed him since he was officially the godslayer’s Aide.

However, from the outside, it appeared as if Arthur and the other Major Generals were the commanders since Aravae was hiding her presence with the aim of sneak attacking the Aramisian Lieutenant General stationed here.

*RUMRF!

The ’warhorse’ that Arthur was riding—a Level 750 horse-like creature—let out a low grunt and the boy leaned forward and patted its head a bit.

"I think it’s high time you used your Mask though."

"Hmm? True."

Arthur held up his left hand and summoned his Mask from his subspace, putting it on, before returning to petting the Horse.

"Why do you still use that thing anyway?"

Evan asked this question regarding Arthur masking himself and the boy replied without taking his hands off the horse’s head.

"I’m conducting an Experiment on Universal Influence. I want to see how much of the stuff I can gain whilst keeping certain details of myself hidden."

Sitting upright, Arthur looked at the walls of Plomux Central up ahead and continued.

"Though it might become useless after the Summit next month though. Next, it’d be up to how much the Race Rulers can limit information from the Interstellar Stage from entering Aramis."

From what he was informed by Alvey, there was to be a series of parties during the summit, and Gozonian Generals and Noble Demons from all across the galaxy would be in attendance.

It was the perfect event for Arthur to enter this Universe’s Interstellar Stage, and he didn’t intend to use his mask during this. As such, he expected the details of his name and appearance to become common knowledge after.

As the Gozonians would be inviting allies from other Prime and Apex worlds, he expected that the news would eventually reach the gods of the Aramis Faction and consequently, the Aramisians would find out.

He had no problems with this, is what he thought till he remembered Rachel.

’Oh well, I’d cross that bridge when I get to it.

Maybe I should still use the mask to check and see if the Aramisians would still be clueless.’

To the Valmone Universe, Arthur was the descendant of the ’Devil King Lucifer’ who came from ’the Beyond’. Considering Lucifer’s notoriety, Arthur had a feeling the Aramis Faction god Kings might just withhold information on his identity to not scare the shit out of the Aramisians.

Just as that thought crossed his mind, Arthur sensed several powerful presences and looked up to see numerous figures standing on the walls ahead.

Beside him, Evan turned his gaze in the same direction, activating his Farsight skill to zoom in on the figures. When his gaze met those of a young man among them, his eyes widened.

The young man Evan locked gazes with, equally surprised, stepped forward and shouted, his voice magically amplified to echo across the battlefield.

[YOU!!!]

He pointed directly at Evan, drawing the attention of many of his fellow Aramisians, who were puzzled by his sudden outburst.

And he gave them an explanation with his next words.

[YOU’RE A HERO OF ANOTHER WORLD, ARE YOU NOT?!

WHY ARE YOU NOT DEFENDING YOUR OWN WORLD AND INSTEAD AIDING THESE ACCURSED DEMONS IN INVADING THIS ONE?!]

For a moment, the only sound was the rhythmic stomping of horses’ hooves. The voice of the young man standing on the East Wall, amplified by magic, rang in their ears, leaving many confused about who he was addressing.

[I’M TALKING TO YOU, MASKED HERO BESIDE THE SILVER SUMMONER!]

When Evan didn’t respond, the man added more to his declaration, causing the Demon Generals near Arthur and Evan to turn their gazes towards the Rogue Hero.

What they knew of Evan was that he was a Dragonkin from another world, and since he appeared around the same time as the reinforcement dragons from Gozon, they assumed he was part of them.

They certainly didn’t expect that he was a Hero!

Evan, visibly displeased with the sudden revelation of his Hero identity, facepalmed and clicked his tongue. He looked back at the young man who had ousted him—the newest Aramisian Hero—and asked in exasperation.

[Would it have killed you to shut your mouth?]

[?!]

The Aramisian Hero was taken aback by this reply but quickly recovered, glaring at Evan.

Initially, Evan intended to ignore him, but something caught his attention, forcing his gaze back to the Aramisian Hero. Arthur, noticing this shift, also turned to Evan at the same time.

"Evan..."

"I know."

Evan’s brows furrowed and he infused magic power into his voice.

[You bastard...you just tried to control my mind, didn’t you?]

Indeed, the Aramisian Hero had a mind control skill which he had just tried to use against Evan.

However, Evan possessed a VERY high resistance to such manipulations due to a past experience, and he had a deep-seated loathing for them.

The boy’s eyes glowed and a golden inscription appeared in his irises. Raising his right hand, he activated a skill, though thanks to his Unique Disposition, no one sensed the skill activation.

Skill activations were usually detectable by any existence above Level 300, but Evan possessed a skill that masked the activation of 90% of his abilities.

’Gravilife Convergence.’

The space around the Aramisian Hero distorted as a gravitational vortex appeared behind him and drew him, as well as everyone near him towards it with irresistible force. They tried to destroy the vortex with their powerful divinities, but the gravity was so dense that their divinity bent around the vortex instead.

Next, the ground cracked open and a massive fist made up of the stone and metal constituting the magically reinforced walls they stood on erupted and seized them in an unbreakable grip.

Evan clenched his fist and the giant Stone-Metal fist began crushing their bodies with its power.

Upon closer observation, it became evident that the ambient energies of the law of life were draining the life forces of the Aramisian Hero and those caught.

Naturally, the Aramisian Generals would not allow Evan to easily kill their Hero, so they moved to break him out, but someone was even faster.

**BOOMM!!!

A longsword descended from above, cleaving the Stone-Metal fist apart with the power of the Law of Swords, splitting the gravitational vortex inside it in two and destroying it.

Wielding this sword, was a tall man with an imposing presence. He had a full head of short spiky hair and wore armour that gleamed with a dark, metallic sheen, intricately engraved with arcane symbols that pulsed with an eerie light.

[HERO OR NOT, IT DOESN’T FUCKING MATTER! IF HE’S WITH THE DEMONS, HE’S AN ENEMY.]

The man’s crimson eyes moved towards Arthur, and his lips curled up into a grin as he continued.

[You...you’re the one they called ’Silver Demon Summoner’, aren’t you?

Who’s the fool who thought of that title? There’s nothing ’Demonic’ about you...godslayer!]

The man uttered these words with conviction, before infusing his blade with energy dashing through the air at Supersonic speed.

Seeing this, many Demons launched attacks to try and stop him but he cut through everything with a single swing of his blade and reached Arthur’s position.

With a spin, he sliced through the flame breath the godslayer’s monster horse spewed out and slashed down towards Arthur’s neck.

However, the man knew his attack wouldn’t land. After all—

’He’s following my blade with his eyes!’

A split second before his sword would have touched Arthur, something silver flashed in his vision and his blade was repelled.

The man flipped in the air and landed on his feet with enough force that he cratered the earth and released shockwaves to blast away all nearby demons.

Looking up, he saw Arthur holding his hand up and after narrowing his eyes a bit, he noticed the half-transparent blade the boy was wielding.

’That’s a strange sword...’

While he thought that, the Gozonians and Aramisians all around had already begun their battle.

The clash of the two armies erupted into chaos as both sides unleashed a barrage of ranged magic and skills. Spells of fire, ice, and lightning streaked across the battlefield, while arrows imbued with elemental energies soared through the air. The sky above darkened with the flurry of projectiles and the ground trembled under the force of powerful explosions.

Aramisians mages conjured massive fireballs and ice spears, launching them towards the advancing Gozonians, who responded with walls of earth and barriers of demonic energy to deflect the incoming attacks.

[I wonder how they mistook you for a Demon when you’re clearly a slayer just like me. Except your fangs primed to kill the divine...]

The crimson-eyed man who attacked Arthur spoke with a smirk, his voice dripping with contempt as he released his aura. In that same moment, Evan’s body was hit with a wave of lethargy, his muscles heavy and weakened.

’This...so this is a real Dragonslayer.’

The Rogue Hero thought to himself, his eyes narrowing as he watched the man wave his longsword and behead a group of demons in a single swing.

[Just because he had Demon-like wings, you mistook him for a Demon? Tsk...foolish Aramisians.]

The Dragonslayer sighed, his gaze never leaving Arthur, who sat silently on his horse. His hawk-like eyes were sharp and unyielding, searching for any sign of weakness.

’He has no openings...’

His instincts honed through years of battle told him that Arthur would somehow be able to react to any attacks he made at this point, so he needed to create some kind of opening.

As if responding to his thoughts, one of his companions took action and created the opening he needed.

**BOOM!!

A sonic boom echoed through the air as a streak of brown light shot through the air, beelining straight for Evan beside Arthur. Arthur’s eyes darted towards the incoming threat, his focus momentarily diverted and the spiky-haired Dragonslayer seized the opportunity and charged at him.

The streak of brown light collided with Evan, knocking him off his horse with a force that sent him tumbling through the air, but Evan flipped mid-air and unfurled his wings, using them like chutes to slow his descent. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Hey y’all, it’s your friendly neighbourhood author, _michael here. 👋🏽

Starting Next Month, September, there will be changes to the Privilege settings. The number of Chapters per tier as well as their prices would change.

Here are the Chapter number changes.

Tier 1: 2>5

Tier 2: 4>10

Tier 3: 8>15

Tier 4: 12>20

Tier 5: 16>25.

Tier 5 guys get 9 more Chapters than before. This technically means there’d be more bonuses next month. (I’d probably regret this decision later 😥.)

Anyway, I’ll run this new privilege system next month and you guys should give your feedback regarding the Chapter numbers and prices. That’d decide how things would be for October and beyond.

Thanks for your understanding and I look forward to you continuing on our Godslayer’s Legend.

This has been _michael.
