Chapter 489: “They’re efficient if you put them in line.”
Evan returned his focus from Arthur’s age to his power, activating his appraisal skill to look at his status.
’As I thought... he’s become a Superior Stage.’

Evan’s ’FULL Appraisal’ skill allowed him to see one’s Stat Levels, so he knew how far off Arthur was in each of his stats.
’His Strength and Durability are on the level of newbie Inferior Sovereigns at Levels 800-811; his energy levels are comparable to Level 860s and his Health Stat is an Infinity symbol like always.
What’s more, he’s only ’Moderately Exhausted’? After all of that?’
Evan rolled his eyes and shook his head, only for his gaze to go below and reach Arthur’s Skill list.
"Wait...what?"
He couldn’t help but exclaim out loud when he saw two of the new skills that were added. He had been told that Arthur’s ’Skills’ were constantly being updated.
Anytime he did something the Valmone Universe’s Devour Class System considered a ’Skill’, it was added to the Skill tab.
As such he could partially understand why ’Gravitational Maelstrom’ had appeared there.
He had seen Arthur replicate the effects of the skill with his gravity law comprehensions.
’It makes sense he’d be able to do that if he comprehends the law of gravity itself...but I’m sure he did not use Prism Pulse, so how come he has it?’
True, Evan had been paying attention towards the end of Arthur’s battle so he saw when Arthur had used Gravitational Maelstrom to crush the Airships, and that was why he was so sure Arthur didn’t use Prism Pulse.
Yet, there it was on Arthur’s Skill tab
Unfortunately, Evan did not know Arthur’s ability of Core Absorption so he could not arrive at the answer to this query of his.
It wasn’t that he didn’t know it was there, but he just didn’t know what it did, otherwise, he would not be confused as to why Arthur now had Prism Pulse.
He didn’t dare to appraise any of Arthur’s Unique Skills to read their descriptions because of the presence of Extreme Nothingness.
Evan’s instincts warned him not to go near that thing at all.
Suddenly, he sensed a surge of magic power and looked up from the status board, right at its owner who was conjuring some sort of Summoning Magic Spell.
Arthur used the same ’Three Step Summoning’ which he had used to first call Stelan to this world, but this time, it was not random but had a set target—Infernal Devils.
He already had their coordinates from the last time he summoned them, so he simply employed a bit of spatial power to direct the summoning to where he wanted it to be.
"Arthur, you sure calling that lot would be a good idea?"
"Though unruly, they are efficient killing machines if you put them in line."
Arthur replied to Stelan who silently glanced up at the three-headed Hell Hound beside him. Seeing how the Hellhound was glaring at the summoning circle that was releasing a smell of sulphur, he sighed.
’The Hellhounds really don’t like those guys...’
Evan, curious about what was going on, came over and questioned Stelan about it. Before the godslayer could give a reply, the area was suddenly filled with the scent of blood and from the depths of the summoning circles emerged beings with jet-black wings, their forms wreathed in flickering flames.
Their forked tails swayed with grace as they looked at the clouds of smoke and fire rising up into the sky all around them and grinned.
"Oh, strange boy. You’ve called us again!"
The Leader of this group of Infernal Devils called out to Arthur with an evil-looking smile, before glancing at Evan and raising a brow.
"This isn’t that dragon you were with last time, right?"
Arthur ignored the Infernal Devil’s question while Evan appraised the man and upon seeing his race, his eyes widened in surprise.
’Infernal Devils...they’re the ones who defeated the Celestials and hunted down the ’Fallen Celestial Deities’...’
His thoughts carried details of events which happened thousands of years ago for him and would happen thousands of years in the future for those of the current time.
Evan silently glanced at Arthur who finally dismissed the magic circle before looking up at the Devils and speaking.
"Head west. You’d see a group of Leviathan Devils aiding some Demons and Hellhounds in battle against Aramisian Divine Soldiers.
Kill the Divine Soldiers only."
When Arthur gave his command, one of the Infernal Devils raised a brow and spoke.
"Huh? Why just the Soldiers? Those ones are usually boorish and hardly have nice screams...
It’s those weak little non-fighters who give the nicest screams."
"I know, right? Especially when you kill their families before their eyes."
"That’s the best!"
Some other Devils agreed with that first one’s statement and seeing as he had company, he spoke to Arthur once more.
"Let’s Kill those non-fighters too..."
That was the line Alvey heard as he arrived at the scene, and he narrowed his eyes at the Devil who spoke.
Gozon was fighting a war of ’Conquest’ not ’Extermination’, as such, those non-fighters—civilians—were useful human resources that would be needed to maintain their rule after they had completely conquered Aramis.
As such, unless it couldn’t be helped, they usually refrained from killing civilians. If they had no other choice, they would not hesitate even for a split second though...
Still, it went without saying Alvey wasn’t too pleased upon hearing this Devil talk about shortening their future human resources.
He did understand that the Devil did not know the situation and wanted to speak up but Arthur held out a hand to stop him.
His left hand stretched out in the Devil’s direction and the Infernal was suddenly pulled towards Arthur with immense force.
Arthur grabbed the Devil in a chokehold, and without a second’s hesitation, slammed the Devil’s back onto the reinforced concrete floor.
His right hand coated in destruction law energy then punched down on the Devil’s chest, tearing through his skin and breaking through his ribcage like they weren’t even there.
Just when Arthur was about to grip something within the Devil, the law of summoning’s power surged and enveloped the Devil, returning him to his home world in a flash of light.
"Ah...couldn’t get his soul fast enough."
Arthur casually remarked, before shrugging and looking up at the other Devils. He then asked.
"Does anyone need me to repeat my earlier words?"
"..."
Even though it was silent, everyone could hear the big fat ’NO’ coming from the group of Infernal Devils.
"That’s what I thought.
Now, move it."
After watching them flying away in formation, Arthur turned to Stelan and spoke.
"See. They’re efficient if you put them in line."
"..."
Stelan didn’t even know what reply to give to this, while Alvey just shook his head with a sigh and spoke.
"Don’t do that too much or the Law of Summoning may temporarily penalize you for ’killing’ your Summons."
After he gave Arthur this little piece of advice, he then turned his gaze towards the Triton’s Ark where thousands of soldiers were still disembarking at this very moment and asked.
"Would you be okay for the rest of the day?"
"I’ve still got half my energy so I’m good to go."
"Very well, then.
Let’s begin with Phase 2."
It was time to kill the morale of the Aramisians by parading Yedrist’s corpse. When placed side by side with Crarox’s head which Arthur had kept up on a rock pike, Alvey was eagerly anticipating the effects it’d have on the soldiers.
’Especially those from clans or countries that worshipped Yedrist as some sort of Sea Deity...’
With those thoughts, he unfurled his wings and dashed towards the other end of the Triton’s Ark, where Yedrist’s corpse was anchored.
