Chapter 462: Rogue Hero from the Future
"What the ACTUAL fuck?"
Evan couldn’t be blamed for reacting in such a manner. It wasn’t every day one got to be told they had been yeeted 10 millennia into the past, after all.
What’s more, the boy had no idea of how to return to his time period at all!
Arthur didn’t need to see his full face to know the fear that Evan was currently feeling. Just the look in his eyes was enough to know.
Seeing this, Arthur’s eyes flashed and he silently activated his Pseudo-Authority on Evan, using it to gleam as much as he could.
After nearly a minute of silence, the glow in Arthur’s eyes dimmed and he spoke up.
"Good news, Evan. You would NOT get trapped here.
From what I see, there’s some sort of time law coating on you—probably an effect of the spell that sent you here—and it’s preventing the Universal law of time from knowing that you are from the Future.
However, this coating is not permanent and it’d wear over time. When it’s gone, the Law of Time’s gonna go: "Hey, you’re not supposed to be here! Get the fuck out!"; and beam you back into the future."
Arthur spoke based on the assumption that Evan was scared of the possibility of not being able to return to the future, but Evan’s reply to his words surprised him.
"...I already knew that."
"Wait, you did?"
This was surprising to everyone that Evan knew the conditions for him to return. This then begged the question of what made him fearful.
"I was just thinking...I got sent 10,000 years into the past to a faraway planet, and this was when the spell-casting was interrupted.
If the spell had been completed...I’m scared to think of where I could have been sent to.
What’s more, I’m just hit with a newfound realisation that I truly didn’t comprehend the level of power my enemies possessed. To think they could so easily send me back in time by 10,000 years with a spell cast through a proxy..."
"Oh...those are very real concerns."
Everyone had to agree that they’d be very worried about that if they were ever to end up in Evan’s current situation.
Seeing as the boy was already aware of the fact that his stay in the past wasn’t permanent, then Arthur decided to spill the ’Bad News’ he had withheld from Evan earlier.
"Just so you know, the law of time...it may not send you back to the exact point in time you travelled from. I feel it may send you to whatever point it is as at the moment that coat wears off completely.
Unfortunately, I don’t know when that Coat is going to wear off so I can’t say. It’s gonna last at least a month, that’s for sure.
Could take years...probably no more than a decade at most."
"..."
Everyone in the room silently facepalmed as Arthur casually changed the target of Evan’s fear to the fact that he could spend years stuck in this time.
"Years...?
I have so many things to deal with in my Time Period. I have a planetary war to stop..."
The mention of a Planetary War, much like what was currently going on in Aramis, piqued Sigesi’s curiosity and she questioned Evan about it.
"We have a bunch of Go-guys trying to Invade and I happen to be a Hero whose job is to make sure they don’t."
Alvey narrowed his eyes when he heard Evan’s little slip-up, and Arthur who also noticed it pointed it out.
"You wanted to say something else. gods?"
His inquiry had Evan raise a brow before waving his hand lightly and replying.
"I wanted to say goddamn bastards, but yeah, they do have a god behind them. The person who yeeted me into the past.
Unfortunately, the people of the world I come from don’t know what race or world our Invaders came from.
All we know is they Invaded 1000 years ago...well, 9000 years in the future.
They invaded and got repelled. The Dimensional Rift they used to come into the World was sealed, but the seal’s not permanent and they’re gonna come back.
I got a bunch of fools on our side who worship these invaders and they are trying to break the seal open and let the Invaders back in, so I gotta stop them."
Evan revealed the situation of his home world, not too bothered about it since they’d already seen his status and could glean some information from it.

If there was one thing about Evan’s status that caught their attention, then it was the sheer number of skills the boy had.
The boy had over 50 skills!!
That was by far the highest number of skills Arthur had seen in one person since he came to this Universe.
Even Alvey who was a Transcendent had somewhere around 15 but Evan had three times this.
And this wasn’t counting Evan’s Unique Skills.
This was one of the reasons why Alvey and McEnda, despite their busy workload, wanted to sit in and listen to Evan’s questioning. They were curious about where the boy came from and how he had so many skills.
From his titles, it was clear the boy was a ’Titled Hero’ in his world, and he seemed to be the Leader of said Heroes. He also had a lot of titles that showed he possessed both Noble and Military Ranks.
All that, at just 16.
"The boy is like a slightly less ridiculous version of Arthur."
"I know, right? He does one up Arthur with his number of skills, but we still don’t know how many more abilities Arthur has that’d be categorized as Skills either."
Alvey and McEnda’s not-so-subtle conversation prompted Evan to turn towards Arthur and use his Full Appraisal skill on the progenitor, his jaw dropping in shock when he saw the results he got.
’He’s the Progenitor godslayer she told me about?!’
Evidently, Evan was aware of the ’Progenitor godslayer’ in the future, though he had clearly just discovered that person was Arthur.
Arthur noticed his unconcealed surprise but chose not to comment on it for now. First, he wanted Evan to understand the situation of the planet he had ended up on.
However, Alvey beat him to it, projecting a Map of the Planet Aramis on his palm with light magic as he spoke.
"What if I told you that you are currently in one of the strongholds of Invaders of this World?"
"...what?"
Evan’s voice unconsciously leaked from his lips behind his mask and seeing his ’surprise’, Alvey posed a question.
"Have you heard of Planet Gozon in the future?"
"...yes, I do know of Gozon."
"Good.
McEnda, Sigesi and I, are Gozonians. If you know of us, you should know that conquering planets is something we do a lot.
This World...Aramis is one of our current targets.
McEnda and I are High Ranked Demons and Generals of Gozon’s Interstellar Army, and are the ones spearheading the Invasion on this Continent of Gledea."
Evan fell silent upon hearing Alvey’s words. Surely, the boy was flummoxed at the thought of falling into the territory of another planet’s invaders.
Alvey didn’t give him a chance to collect his thoughts before continuing his words.
"You are a ’Hero’, one with special powers particularly effective against ’Invaders.
Typically, these abilities would be from your connection to your own world, but I doubt you still maintain that connection.
Your original planet surely exists somewhere out there, but at present, it has no connection to you.
This means you are currently a ’Rogue Hero’ untethered to any World. Coincidentally, Aramis is a world that just so happens to be looking for ’Rogue Heroes’."
Alvey’s mention of Aramis’ need for Rogue Heroes intrigued Arthur, who was unfamiliar with the concept of Heroes in this Universe and had only encountered Evan as the first example
In this universe, the ’Hero’ title was a fundamental aspect embedded within the default defence mechanisms of planets, part of the overarching Devour Class System
Planets had ’Hero Slots’ which would unlock under certain conditions. These slots were then filled by indigenous inhabitants of the planet who met the Hero title criteria.
Chosen Heroes were bestowed with Unique Series Skills, and received significant boosts to their Levelling up speed, and damage bonuses.
The purpose of these Heroes was straightforward: to Defend their respective planets from external threats.
For Aramis, the threat would be the invading Gozonians.
"From your status, I could see that your world had seven heroes. It’s a funny coincidence, as that’s the same number of this World’s Heroes I eliminated."
Alvey spoke with a chillingly calm voice, and Evan couldn’t help but flinch at the mention of Heroes being eliminated.
Previously, Aramis boasted Twelve Heroes, but now only two remained after Alvey and McEnda took out ten of them.
"While strength may be a factor, specific conditions must be fulfilled for someone to be chosen as a Hero.
Fortunately for Gozon, none of the Aramisians have met these conditions since the deaths of ten of its Heroes.
However, a Rogue Hero is exempt from these requirements.
Regardless of their origin, whether from another planet or time period, all they need is a connection to the planet to become its Hero and reap the benefits of that title... including the ’Increased Effectiveness’ of everything they do against ’Invaders’."
Having spoken this much, Evan had already figured out what Alvey was hinting at.
"You mean my arrival on Aramis, wasn’t a coincidence like I believe, but part of a greater scheme by this Planet in an attempt to gain a Rogue Hero?"
Seeing how Evan was quick on the uptake, Alvey’s opinion of him rose, and he nodded in confirmation.
"What I believe is that during your...journey through spacetime, your spatial tunnel entered this planet’s Gravitational Field and the planet sensed you.
It then interfered, snatching you out of your original path and pulling you towards it, however, there was a mishap and you ended up on the Wrong side of the planet."
Contemplating Alvey’s theory, Evan placed a hand on his chin, deep in thought.
"The consciousness of a planet has the ability to extend its influence throughout its gravitational field.
Given that these planetary consciousnesses operate with pure 100% logic, prioritizing their own survival above all else, it makes sense to think Aramis would pursue such tactics."
His mutterings surprised all those present in the room as they hadn’t expected him to be aware of the concept of planetary consciousnesses.
Just like Arthur had witnessed in the Hell Universe, Planets also possessed Sentience, although this typically took an incredibly long time to develop.
Lower and Mid-level Worlds usually only had rudimentary ’Wills’, while Higher-level worlds had Wills that had matured into full-fledged Sentience.
This was one of the criteria for a planet to attain High-level status.
As a Prime World, Aramis boasted Sentience, but its sphere of influence was confined to its gravitational field, akin to other planets with sentience.
"Of course, my words are just my conjecture. But as far as that possibility exists, I’m afraid you would have to remain under our custody." —which was a fancy way of saying he was going to be detained against his will until further notice.
Alvey delivered his verdict, which McEnda concurred with. On the side, Sigesi was already drafting a report about the situation and planning to add it to the things they were going to send to the Demon Kings.
Upon hearing Alvey’s decision, Evan let out a soft sigh. Despite his reluctance to have his freedom restricted, he acknowledged that he posed a ’potential threat’ to the invading Gozonians on Aramis.
’Honestly, I’m thankful they didn’t just outright try to kill me to "nip the potential threat in the bud".’
The boy sighed once more before nodding to show his understanding.
Seeing the downcast look in his eyes, Arthur chuckled and offered some reassurance.
"Cheer up, you’re not gonna be stuffed in a dark dungeon cell or something. But do know your movements and interactions would be monitored."
He then turned to Alvey and continued.
"You plan to stick some of your shadows on him, right?"
Alvey, who was already concocting plans on how to put a Rogue Hero to use for the benefit of the Invasion on Aramis absentmindedly gave an affirmative response.
"See? You’d just be under monitoring."
Arthur’s eyes glowed lightly as he spoke and the sight of that glow made Evan instinctively tremble as he felt like Arthur was looking right through him.
’As I thought, it’s happening again. My Parallel Paths are reducing in number again...
Artemisia, Beatrix and Evan...their presences here are all leading up to something.
Something big.’
